Hi Tiklpikl this would probably do better in the sports/training Forum, but that said I do Flyball at Castle Hill as there are no groups here on the Central Coast so good luck I hope you get a group started. I will watch with interest.

Huge congratulations to Elizabeth and Joachim Lange from Lagottostar for their stunning wins for their Lagotto Romagnolo home bred litter with BOB and Challenge Bitch.

HI Kavik - went to the same course as MonElite .... trainer also suggested transfer value. As in through the ball/play toy only after he/she has show some interaction with the tug and use the clicker or verbal cue to teach what behaviour you are expecting with the tug. So he learns that playing with the tug leads to a "higher" reward until they both become high value. Also only use very soft tug with a dog just starting and let the dog win was a big one when starting. My dog loves to chase so have been throwing the tug and trying to race her to it and letting her win and sometimes I win, trying to make it all a very interesting game. But must admit hadn't thought to clicker train it...........der too simple!!

Try here and then look down page for file Puppy Farm ABC woops sorry too slow should have read the whole post

We have used these at training school quite regularly and they work well but sometimes a narrow or slim dog does better when the front harness is also clipped to the collar. So attach the lead to the front harness and then to the D ring on the collar. This still allows the harness to work the way it is supposed to but makes for a better fit at the front. Might be worth at try.

Bemboka Trial 27/28 March 2010
Wotagoodog replied to Mrsdog's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
If only I was off to Bemboka and if only you had not left us behind in SPD the greydove girls could have given them a show. Hope Kissy finds a nice partner - did you try the agility list? -
I bought a treat toy with a zip in it so they cant get the treat until you give it to them. Then placed the treat toy at an increased distance and clicked when the dog walked backwards to the distance to get the toy. If they turned around to get it they didn't get a click or treat but just a pat and good try. Didn't take long to be able to get the message to walk back until the toy was reached.
