Well done Clover - you are so lucky to have flyball over there

I say if it works and you are enjoying your runs - then you are on a winner

Nice runs Agility Dog Tell us more about the motion based handling system Last night Naughty Nina made her obedience debut and scored 99/100 in CCD. I have Denise Fenzi to thank for this as she has got us over a few of the hurdles. Scoota who edging closer and closer to retirement fell over the line and won UD

Not sure what you are all worried about. I stuck an entry in for our Western Classic and that is way before your BC Nationals and I haven't started training for it - or looking for my music. I am running with the theory that......it will be alright on the night Actually I am a little concerned since Bedazzled accepted the commentary position during the week. Not sure what she will say about my pussy costume -
How Do You Teach A Stay?
Ptolomy replied to Pretty Miss Emma's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
There is an obedience rule review coming up and I hope they remove the sit stay in the rule review. -
I agree, well done on your title and your results - 2014 has started with a bang for you - keep up the great work with your kids.

Mine still says.....Your item was processed through a facility in AUSTRALIA on December 26, 2013 at 5:04 pm. The item is currently in transit to the destination This is crazy is Perth really THAT far away from everywhere else in Oz?

what about any unexpected vet visits in those first 9 months - who will pay for those? worming, flea treatment. In my opinion, its a big commitment her keeping the pup for 9 months, and training it, for nothing

Well done Ness and Kenzie and a nice little Birthday present for you. Hopefully 2014 will be kinder to both of you

They didn't have the shoes I ordered either - so refunded my money - which is a bit of a bummer since I only really needed/wanted the shoes and the other $150 was just basically to fill up the box and the fact that I was down to double digit isqueaks

I have found the breeders blog and it looks like this is the same test done by my Norwegian imports siblings - so I have results for 4 of his litter mates -

Silver Eagle Cool Champions Cool Coats
Ptolomy replied to RubyStar's topic in General Dog Discussion
I have used it for an entire open and UD round. I don't like the coats that don't extend to the tail and don't come down the side of the dog at the back - but maybe that's just me -

Bedazzled has a chamois coat - does she want to sell hers? -

Would you trial with a Cool Champion one on? That is the part that is now swaying me to the Cool Runners chamois one. If I can cool Ruby down enough to allow her to trial in the day, we might be able to do some more obedience trials in the future! Moo has trialled and done stays in his cool champion coat. I have a chamois coat as well - which Cider has worn in novice at Rockingham. It was good but not as good as the CC ones. -

Rubystar - I have tried a few and think the cool champion ones are the best. The K9 shop sells them - but I don't think they are any cheaper. Caffy has one from the UK which she is happy with - I think I deleted the link so perhaps email her and ask about it. -
Puppy people in Adelaide tell me that vet at balhannah does titre testing.
-
I have 2 x 10 year olds, last vaccinated at 16 weeks of age, have been titre tested (parvo and distemper) every 2 years with result > 80.
-
My pup (gun dog) did the elimination diet at 4 months of age, it took 6 weeks for the pustules on her tummy and her ear infections to cease before we could commence adding one protein and then 1 carbohydrate at a time. She is now 8 years old and I can safely say - this far down the track it was worth the 4-6 months of working out what she could and couldn't eat

It depends on the type of deer they come from. Some pictures from when I used to sell them. Mine being the largest were from Red Deer, the other is Fallow Deer. Sway - do you still sell them and if so do you have any in stock?
-
Ok - after some thoughts. I have just titre tested 9 of my kids for parvo and distemper. Three of the kids aged 7, 4 and 3 have come back with very low for parvo <1:5. One of these has had auto immune issues in the past with a poly arthritis, one is tgAA positive - but is clinically well and the last is fit and healthy. Jean Dodds says any result proves immunity. In the past one of the kids had low distemper <1:5 and I opted to do nothing. I retested 2 years later and it was then 1:20. So in my head my options are Do nothing and retest in 3 months time do nothing and retest in 2 years time Vaccinate with a C3 Vaccinate with a parvo only. thoughts anybody????

Dancing With Dogs Freestyle & Heelwork To Music

We had our last comp here in QLD last week-end. We saw some lovely new starters having a go in Rookies. I am looking forward to seeing them compete in starters next year. We had a thunder storm approaching just as the competition got underway and it hit during presentations. There were a few withdrawals with dogs not coping with the impending storm. But overall there were some lovely routines performed. My boy Chook just missed out on his Freestyler Intermediate title so now we will have to take all our props all the way up to Toowoomba early next year LOL. My highlight for the year was Chook performing at the Ekka and taking out first place in HTM Intermediate. For him to perform in that environment was amazing, I was so proud of him and the best part was we got it all on video. What was everybody else's highlights? That's a HUGE highlight - and a very tough environment - well done. Great news that you are now enjoying HWM - goodonya and I am sure that intermediate title will be just around the corner and up the road a bit! Toowoomba is miles away! -

Definitely HWM - we have no tricks or skills - in fact we can heel and not much more and now he is in semi retirement heel position is open for interpretation....... in fact so is sit, drop and come Bless his little white cotton socks I did bring the stud dog out for the Royal and after he ate the music and I had to race home and burn another CD - he did get his HWM starters title - but have no plans to being him out again - my blood pressure is still recovering -

*cough* I have entered a trial in a week and a half's time - I keep threatening to do some training between now and then - but not holding my breath. Think I have said this before but we will slip into retirement after this one Advanced is way to hard for me. -
Not all tollers scream and some you think don't scream until out of the blue they find something very very exciting Generalizing here - goldies tend to become couch potatoes at 2 - tollers are Peter Pan dogs and stay young forever. Goldies are bigger and drop way more hair than tollers. Tollers don't do well with repetition type training - if they get it right once - move on.
