  1. thumbs up Kallistar - glad you were happy with your round - a pass is the icing on the cake.
  2. Fuel light was on from yesterday - nothing in the tank....... He hung in there until distance control and failed the 4th change of position - the sit to the down, then failed the second blind retrieve. Still I was tickled pink with what he did. How did you get on Kallistar?
  3. Ness - Was it windy and perhaps your scent was blowing onto the article next door?
  4. I asked Bedazzled a little while ago if she knew how you got on today..... Yes antibiotics definitely affect your scent work - take it from me .... been there, done that and failed scent!
  5. Kallistar - we are in Brisbane for the National Obedience Championships ;) Yep I too should be training for him to find the prescribed area from anywhere - but really we have done no distraction work and nothing out of the ordinary because it seems that every week we are trialling and we are still at the stage of every second week fixing an exercise that is broken. Its on the to do list, but obviously its not high enough up the list Good luck today - may the wash cloth fairy be looking after you
  6. We did UDX today - hmmmm - they do it differently here in Queensland. We were on a pass until the sendaway - where the cones were on an angle, I asked the judge if I could line my dog up with the cones in a straight line and was told - nope - had to stand on the marker. So Scoota bless him ran a straight line as he has been trained to do and ended up a couple of meters away from the prescribed area. IT was all downhill from there as he didn't stand on the last position in distance control and then failed the first blind retrieve - nope the dog couldn't see the markers and there was a metal marker on the ground - half way out to leather number 3 - which was like a beacon with the sun shinning on it. Interesting that this marker was not used for any of the exercises and the judge wouldn't move it. We had to get leather number 2 first and of course the majority of dogs ran to the shinning marker on the ground and then followed the line to number 3. Oh well - there is always tomorrow. Kallistar what have you done to your dog and good luck if you make it to the start peg.
  7. The three dogs in the team would rank amongst the best open dogs in OZ and today they all put in terrific open rounds after a long day of competition. AND they all managed to do their stays. Raising a glass to Maverick, Brookie and Scoota :D
  8. Online pets can you explain the basic differences between Advance and Nutro
  9. MY friend did - she had a main register BC and had a huge disagreement with the breeder - so she reregistered him as an associate with a pet name, but was upfront with Dogswest and was able to take all his obedience titles with him.
  10. What a great idea Mrs Rusty Bucket  Now how do we put this suggestion to the committees that are looking at why obedience trials are dieing ;) Just send us the schedule when you have ti organised - or alternatively - organise a training camp there
  11. ;) Unfortunately the goalposts have moved with regard Scoots - with all that he has been through and the fact that he is still here with me, and able to compete - he is exempt from the toller tree and the eject button Bedazzled and I now have this travelling downpat and the locations of the nearest liquor stores
  12. To make you all feel better I have left my stand in positions in motions in WA, cos it sure wasn't with me today at Durack Best wishes to everybody on the weekend - Bedazzled and I will report in tomorrow evening. and wash your mouth out TSD Champange ??? although I have to laugh - have just left the shops and I said to Bedazzled we may be a bottle short.......
  13. I think you should apply for it too Mason's mum - nothing ventured, nothing gained. Managed to jag a training session at Durack where the competition is being held over the next 2 days - they were setting up rings so were happy to let us do our own thing. Unfortunately Scoota's stand in position in motion has been left home as has Brookies wash cloths. Its much warmer here than I was expecting - 24 degrees today - so bedazzled and I had to do a shopping run on the way home - and have just finished the most yummy lunch Having a very slack afternoon and will pack our bags ready for the weekend a bit later - all is good on this side of the country!
  14. Sitting here reading the posts and I feel sorry for you all - been there done that where you enter a trial and things start breaking. Good luck to everybody over the weekend. Bedazzled and I have arrived in Brisbane, been shopping, found the bottle shop and will head out to Durack this morning for a bit of a training session. The boys seem to have travelled well which is good news. I look forward to reading about lots of good results tomorrow night.

  18. Hello all WA'ers from Brisbane. WE have arrived checked into where we are staying and the dogs are bouncing. We already have Mount Scoota happening - which is something we didn't get in Sydney - so I know all is well with the world and the planets are once again aligned. Where we stay is brillinat - 15 minutes from Durack, and although it is on a major 4 laned highway it is really set up for dogs with a toy box, dog bowls and a jar full of dog treats. Brooklyn and Scoota think they are in doggy heaven. For us humans its less than 1km from a major shopping centre and the house also has computer and internet access. WE are here until Monday and competing on Saturday and Sunday. I have just received a text message to say there is a retrieving test thing happening Sunday and did I want to enter. So may just have a play with that as well. I will report in again tomorrow. HUgs to you all xx
  19. Better Pets and Gardens currently have Nutro on special for $79 for a 15kg bag. Its made by the same company - you will just have to google to find the difference and make the decision whether you wanted to give it a go or not.
  20. I got to cuddle 6 little grey puppies tonight and when I got home I was mobbed by all the big kids. There are some lucky owners who are going to take home these little kids in a couple of weeks. Scoota did very well standing there with needles in while he was surrounded by the little kids. :D
  21. I keep Zyrtec in the glovebox all the time and it doesn't make them drousy. and yep will defintely hang around for puppy cuddles this arvo. I will only have Moo with me which will make life easy. I am looking forward to it I got home from work yesterday f to find a disaster in the back room. Somebody, who shall remain nameless, but has a name rhyming with Mouse, has started shredding bedding and yesterday decided to take on the feather quilt and there were feathers EVERYWHERE.
  22. What time is your apt - I am there at 4 ;)
