MY daughter gave me one for mothers day - uploaded photos of all the kids and it looks terrific - well worth the money

Well done to Bedazzled and Brookie who today scored 197 in UD and 198 in open and took out high in trial. Mate you are setting the bar very high ;) Little Cider Bear managed her first lot of open stays to finish second to Brookie in the morning and then managed another lot of stays in the arvo to win open. Good girl Soggy Bear (and she was as it rained most of the day!)

I always take for granted that the dogs just sit in the back of the car and when we arrive somewhere they get out and so be it. Today was a country trial in BUnbury - 2 hours south of Perth. I used to live in BUnbury and for the first 2 years of Scoota life - he would train at this oval. Well today I drove down to Bunbury and as I turned off the main road into the road that leads to the oval - Scoota started crying - he knew exactly where he was. I got him out of the car, let him off lead and he went nutso, like a foal kicking his heels up and pig rooting - that was my boys today. Hard to believe he knew where he was and it obvious brought back great memories to him

Soggy was a soggy dog after this mornings trial ;) BUT she did 2 x sit stays, coming straight out of the first lot of stays, into the next ring for her ring work and being last dog in this ring, straight into another lot of stays. She looked confident in what was awful conditions and has improved a lot over the last couple of months. Think I will keep her a wee bit longer Bedazzled - have you opened that popping bottle yet????? Well done mate - a nice trial run for the states next week.
-
How exciting - where is she from and have you been hiding her for a few weeks or did you really only just get her?? and wheres the photos????
-
Woo Hoo I can tell you are just a wee bit excited - WHAT a great day at the office - well done and yep good luck at the states :D
-
Good luck tomorrow Tumbleweed - I hope the naughty Sibie fairies are busy elsewhere and only the good ones are at Hay Park ;) Good luck to everybody else trialling this weekend. It starts to get tough this time of the year as the weather heats up. Its OK if you are on early but it gets mighty warm as you get closer to lunchtime making it a real disadvantage. I am hoping to read lots of good news stories on Sunday night

CC we give Jackpots in obedience when the dog puts in an extra special effort or does something particularly well. You only have to say the word Jackpot around my kids and their necks just about swivel off trying to see where it is coming from. Mum is doing ok - she had surgery a week ago, so has 3 more weeks in a sling and before she can attempt to drive. The op took a lot longer than expected and she torn a tendon which is causing a few problems with pain. Thanks for asking

BIg Celebrations here tonight - for the first time in just over 5 months Scootas blood test results are normal - he no longer has liver failure. Raising a glass to Fleur at Murdoch and to everybody that has asked how he is going along the way. It really was appreciated and to my little red man well he will be having a JACKPOT tonight Goodonya Moo :D

Recommend 6-12 weeks of Soloxine ® or equivalent product at 0.1 mg per 12-15 lbs twice daily (e.g. 0 . 2 - 0. 25 mg BID). Retest thyroid profile in 2-4 months drawing the sample 4-6 hours post-pill (to reassess levels which should be upper 1/3 to 25% above the resting ranges, and see if thyroid AA levels are waning). Staranais - all the reading I have done recommends not breeding because it is a highly heritable condition, but I cannot find any of those studies to back up the claims. I want something that says if I breed her - out of the 6 resulting puppies 3 will end up with the same condition and mum will have an autoimmune meltdown as a result - very easy to understand and clear cut - and I can't find it anywhere. As I said before throw in the fact that you mate her to a clear dog and I am struggling to find anything......

Last month I tested two of my kids for thyroid problems through Jean Dodd's Lab (Hemopet) in the US. Both were asymptomatic and it was for breeding purposes that they were tested. Their ages are 16 months and 26 months. One came back "normal", the other with an abnormal TgAA indicating that she is in the early stages of heritable autoimmune thyroiditis, and the comment with it was that "We treat these cases immediately to prevent further destruction of the thyroid gland by this progressive process". Cost for the tests were $75US but on top of that you have the vet bill for pulling the blood here, lab processing (spinning the blood) and the postage to the US which was a biggie. We ordered the Thyroid 5 test but should have also asked for a TSH to be done, but I didn't know that as I was expecting both tests to be normal. The girl was in season when I tested, so although I don't think it will alter anything I am going to retest in 3 months time with Hemopet and also another lab in the US and hope that the results are different. I have done a lot of reading in the last few weeks, with everything saying you must not breed from a dog with this condition, but nowhere can I find why...... Neither of her parents are thyroid affected. So I guess my question is if I put her to a non affected dog what would happen. If anybody has any links which would help - happy for you to point me to them thankx

Its my young boy STrauss (16 months old) who up until last week I referred to as my stud dog ;) Had a lesson with the guru and a week later this is what we have...... and yes he does have a lead on Thanks Caffy for the Video and all your help with the kids
-
SLLH - tell the 11 year old they did good for a first up effort :D and then give them the camera to practice with while you are training in the back yard this week ;) My only suggestion is to change the hand you are carrying your lead in. Every time you gave a signal you had to swap the lead from your right to your left hand. Carry it in your left hand and it can stay there I will see if I can post a video of STrauss from the weekend (its on FB) just not sure how to get it on here. He does have a lead on, but its very hard to see and it stays in my left hand the entire time.

Great work RV - I still can;t get over how far Toby has come in the last 12 months I think you need to post a couple of 10 second clips of what Zora knows so that we can all go OooooH isn't she gorgeous and you can look back in 4 weeks and see how much more she knows.
