Solid jump had its first ring runout tonight and I am pleased to say that it managed its stays and it passed Good luck to my mate who tomorrow sits her UD judges exam - I have my fingers and toes crossed for you and tonight Cider had her first UD round called for her - I learnt a lot from it and she has some very nice stuff happening and a couple of oh no where did that come from moments. But very please with how she is going

There is a US list I am on and the trainer is doing a almost daily blog of training her new Mal puppy, what she is working on, and includes videos, and covers things like her family interferring LOL. The pup at 13 weeks of age was introduced to scenting in the most fun way, something I will use with future puppies. She also talks about how she chose her puppy and the fact that it is very bitey and how she deals with it. Ness can give you more details......

He used scent articles for the side thingies...... I need to show you
-
God he is brilliant yep my idea was doable but he came up with something way better Now I need to stop off and get some more paint. Well done on your first novice pass Murve - its hard to believe that the season is coming to an end - but with 36 degrees forecast here for the next 2 days - its getting way too hot to do anything.
-
Nik - hate to tell you but all that is normal - I am sure they watch us post the entries Rubystar - just waiting for my son to come home to help me with the side thingies. Not sure if the design I had in my brain is doable or not.......I will let you know

Hey Rubystar thanks for the tips on making the solid jump - I decided that my electric fence posts weren't going to be strong enough - so dropped into Bunnings on the way home and yee har I have 2 uprights all glued. Just need the jump cups and to finish painting the wood and attached the side thingies (technical term) Meanwhile, Strauss is going through a learning bloom, so making the most of it - I have started seekback and directed jumping - hence the need for a solid jump!

Well done OOS of your achievements on the weekend - it was a close trial for you - which still meant a 4 hour 1 way trip - and your kids did really well in obedience, agility and the show ring - which show just how good they are and how good you are as a trainer. Well done mate

http://youtu.be/zfKjAzpQX_E We have the start of scent discrimination happening - there is a long way to go - but hes got the idea and seems to enjoy it So far he is doing metals and woods - I will add leathers in a couple of days...... and while I was away mum taught him to bring in the newspaper - she would go out in her PJ's and stand next to the cars in the driveway and then send him to get it. http://youtu.be/wuIY8-nTJaM

Amypie Trixie is a star in the making - you have done a teriffic job in training her and she will continue to get better as you move through the classes. She wont be in novice much longer - well done Yee har Xena98 - I know the feeling following a UDX pass and it is priceless. Here's to many more.......

Thanks girls for your suggestions - I really appreciate it and will incorporate them all into training over the coming sessions Training today - we were able to replicate the problem and we found there is a point going around the figure 8 post where Strauss drops back a bit (possibly something I trained him to do, dunno) and it is here that it goes pearshaped. Today we worked on reving him up and doing turns throwing food, playing tugging and clicking and treating just before the switch off point - so it will be interesting to see if he retains any of it :D He is such a cruisey laid back boy that he is doing a good job to heel as well as he does - but its all about perfection I keep telling him hmmm I wonder if thats why he runs outside and brings me a ball

Enjoy the ride Danni and gees 4 months to wait until the next one - ever thought of heading interstate?
-
Rubystar you and your girls are on fire this weekend - well done JD - Terranik - it seems like only yesterday Jedi started trialing - onwards and upwards you go..... a super effort
-
It must be a UDX kind of weekend - last night we had 5 entered in UDX - 2 dogs passed, 1 failed the stand stay ARGH, one failed the last blind retrieve (little bugger) and one failed the send away - got distracted and didn't come when called - so really 5 very near passes.
-
Hey I hear the scent fairy made it to SA - woo hoo well done Danni on your pass and to Gabby as well
-
Any suggestions on what I can do to improve Strauss's figure 8's cos they suck For the third or 4th trial in a row - he has lost the plot and there has been a tightening of the lead. yeah OK thats wasn't the only problem we had, but any suggestions will be welcomed :D
-
Woo Hoo to Bedazzled and Brookie UDX The bits I saw were very nice. My Occasionally Clever one saved it until the very end and then failed the last blind retrieve - bless him I said # 2 not # 1 But he did a lovely sendaway, PIM, and scent
-
Woo Hoo Brookie UDX - well done mate Enjoy the celebrations

Rubystar where are you - you have a story to tell after last night Last night we had a mock practical UD judges exam for our mate Bedazzled. This was Rubys first go at a full UD round and what a star she was Lovely to see hard work paying off. and just because.... first dog into the ring, Caffy's Alex passed and little Miss Beans would have passed her first UD (little witch) - so hurry up and get your judging license Bedazzled
-
Tracey's husband, Len also fixed my frozen shoulder

Rubystar I think stays are on the agenda for training this week. Especially after Soggy dropped during the sit stay, Strauss got up and then layed down again in the down stay and then we have the Occasionally Clever one who must have thought he was on a stay so didn't move when I sent him for his seekback. Thanks to Bedazzled for taking Beans into open stays for me. Have to laugh when the pass around dog, handled by the stand in handler, is the only one to pass. Well done Bedazzled
