OK - we haven't done a lot over the last few days - but very pleased with tonight's effort as Strauss has grown in confidence. All the weavers are in a straight line now - but I have angled out the top of them and will slowly straighten them. Cider tore a dew claw - so she is has a bandaged paw and will not do anything for a day or two. Interesting that although Cider was much quicker to catch onto the weaving concept, Strauss is now more reliable in completing 12 weavers.

RV dare I say it but for a long time Toby was overweight and this is what your friends/family are used to. I agree with everybody he now looks fit and very healthy keep up the good work

This was posted on FB - I love it......

Lovely work - thanks for posting Hannah. Bits of his heelwork reminded me of Spinner, although this goldie was a lot darker than him. I really like the way they do the figure 8 as a separate exercise. And look at the distance on the signal exercises

LOL bedazzled I love it Tiggy - in the Hansel and Gretel game the dog gets clicked for being in the correct heel position and heeling and you throw the food as part of the reward. They then come back into heel position and its up to you when you click again - sometimes it might be straight away, other times it might be after a few steps and eventually you should be working up to and entire circle and beyond. I hope this helps.

I placed my second order last Saturday - so just over a week ago, and haven't been notified that it has been shipped yet. I figure they have been very very busy.

Having been clipped many a time, I now wear a helmet to Sunday training

I tried 2 x 2 with Cider a long time ago but my kids are so food focused or in her case, i-squeak focused that I found she was too busy watching me rather than where she should be going. I think it would also be easier with dogs that have had free shaping and I don't feel I have done enough with either of them - hence i went back to the method I know which is the channel one. She has picked it up a lot quicker than Strauss, so while I wait for him to catch up I make her entries harder, which is something that I didn't do with any of the others. I may visit 2 x 2 with her further down the track, but will keep going with channels for the time being.

Yep she is ...................and my fashion sense is unbelievable

As I said before we are on holidays no obedience training whatsoever, but......we started weave training on the 13th December and I videoed Strauss a day or two ago and Cider tonight and this is where they are at. Strauss Cider http://youtu.be/f-tyzxEJzJw Have to say Cider has picked it up a lot quicker and does it with way more enthusiasm, but she is also better built for it.

I can vouch that the Pine Rivers Club, or the people that train there are very friendly

I am an experienced obedience person and I have some terrific training buddies who keep me motivated and continually pull me out of the hole I have dug myself (thank you girls, you know who you are) These same people sympathetically listen to me whinging about the stoopid things I have done at a previous training session, nodding at the appropriate time, which makes me feel soooooo much better They have also clipped me over the ear when I have got frustrated or expected too much of my dog. I think I can safely say the shoe has been on the other foot and I have been able to offer them the same advice, the sympathetic nod and the clip over the ear whenever they have needed it. We are a happy group of positive trainers and I wouldn't want it any other way. As for help and advice - I am time poor, but I have always tried to help when I can, not the time wasters, but the people who want to improve and are prepared to put the time and effort in. I am sure some of you are reading this and nodding and if all else fails........I email the guru with the subject heading of......HELP

Elevated Liver Enzyme [alt]
Ptolomy replied to Skruffy n Flea's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
Earlier this year (April) my 8 year old toller became unwell, vomiting, lethargic, jaundiced, and wouldn't eat, and was diagnosed with liver failure. I can't find his initial blood tests but 4 weeks after he was diagnosed his ALT was 1087 (the reference range was 21-142.) ALT 1087 U/L 21 - 142 He was put on a low protein diet (no red meat at all), SaME and Milk Thistle. We had an ultrasound of his liver performed to rule out anything sinister. Happy to report that September this year all his liver enzymes were back in the reference range. We still don't know the cause but due to his recovery, feel strongly that it was a poisoning of some sort - just don't know how, where, or what. Good luck in finding answers. -
Its 11.30pm and you open your Clean Run order....this is what happens (turn the volume up)

Glad to see I wasn't the only person who went to the trouble of trying to work out which clips and getting it wrong. The large clips just slide down the poles they are wayyyyyy too big. I am really happy with my poles. I originally ordered 12 and have another 6 on my next order. For $4.50 they are great value.

After receiving my package yesterday and watching the kids with some of their new toys and me playing with some of the others I now have another order for $200+ sitting in my cart I can't wait until the 16th when this offer is no long valid! PS - I was a dufus as I ordered the large clip on jump cups to go with the stick in the ground weave poles - so now have to order the small ones
