Toller babies due 2nd April

I have used the Wahl clippers a few times and love them. They are perfect for what I need and they do a fantastic job on both humans and dogs.

Bloods are sent to: Vetpath Laboratory Services 39 Epsom Avenue, Ascot, Western Australia 6104 PO Box 18, Belmont, Western Australia 6984 Are you anywhere near Castle Hill?

Friends have these and say they have survived where everything else has failed. They are pricey but do have specials a couple of times a year. https://kuranda.com/dog-beds/aluminum-dog-bed

Kwinana Beach down near the grain terminal (both sides of the blue terminal) is where most doggy people I know go.

Took the plunge and ordered the Wahl clippers. They are the ones my vet uses. I ended up getting them from ebay with free postage - $9 dearer than the cheapest place I could get them on line - the same place that wanted to charge the huge postage cost Thanks for all your assistance - it's much appreciated
-
I went to order the Wahl Clippers last night and postage was $41+ to WA - I nearly fell over. So will give it some more thought and do a bit more research. The special cordless purple clippers postage is only $20 - from a different place of course I hate making decisions and there is a groomers group? nooooooooooooooooooooooo - do I need to join or is it for professional groomers?

So the Heiniger cordless clippers that everybody loves. Which ones are they link 1 or link 2? http://clipperworld.com.au/clippers/heiniger-clippers/heiniger-xplorer-battery-clipper-p3594.html http://clipperworld.com.au/clippers/heiniger-clippers/heiniger-saphir-style-cordless-purple-p2687.html

Thanks Cat - so they haven't gone up that much. Mich13 I like the sound of the Heiniger cordless and you are the forth person to recommend them - but they come with a hefty pricetag and the blades were $80+ each. While they sound perfect, its hard to justify for the handful of times a year that I would use them. Now if I won lotto - my mindset would change
-
Cat - can you remember what you paid for them? I see with a case they are now $185 - I am not sure if that is a good price or not
-
Thanks Ranga - the reviews said they get hot and they were for home use and a comment was they weren't heavy duty enough. At this stage I am considering the Wahl KM 2 or the Oster A6 slim.
-
I didn't like the feel of the Oster A5 and I posted the same question on FB and got a lot of local responses. A couple of friends also recommended the Heiniger cordless clippers. There are 2 different types and yep both are pricey $655 and $395. I am reluctant to even look at the Andis ones again - but I will go and have a look at the Andis 2 speed pro - to see what they say. Thanks for the feedback - much appreciated.

My Andis clippers have died. They cost me $175 and they were next to useless. They were only used to trim around wounds/hotspots and the occasional neat and trim, so they definitely weren't overworked and they were only 2 years old. So I am looking at purchasing some new clippers. The local shop has Oster A5 and A6 (which feel nicer to hold) and also Wahl Km10. I want something that I can rely on to work when I need them (a bit like my Honda Whipper Snipper ). I have duck dogs, so a medium coat with undercoat. What is your recommendation for clippers.

Help! Instructions For Autofill Hydrobath Required

What sort of bath is it? Is it the coloured one you recently purchased off the FB site? I am just trying to find my instructions, which are in a safe place -
I get the Thyroid Profile 5 and the Thyroid Gold done

I too am with PIA. I had 3 of my kids insured and this year when I received their renewals, they has all gone up significantly, and I hadn't made a claim for 2 of them, so I opted to cancel 2 out of the 3 policies. I opted to keep one of them, she had thyroid issues and I insured my baby as I like to cover them for at least the first 12 months until I know about any underlying conditions, but it is certainly getting tough for those of us with more than the usual number of dogs.

Retrieving & Field Training Talk
Ptolomy replied to RubyStar's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
You better get used to the impulse control games because you are going to need them for the rest of your tollers life And just when you think you have it sussed, you enter a trial, and they make it look like you have never played a single IC game in your life Great to hear that you are enjoying the training -
Hey Leopuppy - I titre test all my kids and bloods get sent to Vet Path in WA (I drop them in myself). I only test for Parvo and distemper. About 12 months ago I rang around a truck load of vets in Victoria trying to find somebody who wasn't going to charge between $300 - $400 to pull bloods and send them off for testing. A vet in Geelong from memory was the cheapest at about $100, (bloods were sent to WA) but most of them were way over top price wise compared to what we pay in WA.

*chink* well done denali - its is sessions like this that we all want to bottle.
-
Yes I have sent bloods to Jean probably 8 or 9 times, much better value than doing thyroids in Oz. Vet hands over vials and signs forms and I organise the posting.

What he eats one day, he turns his nose up at the next and like you, I am of the mindset I don't care what he eats, as long as he eats. I haven't tried baby food yet, so I will add that to the list. He is doing OK at the moment and has just polished off his entire evening meal - so we celebrate small wins and will tackle the issue again tomorrow at breakfast. I know how hard this is - sending hugs your way
-
Jules P I feel your pain. We all have our fingers and toes crossed that this is just a blimp on the radar. My Scoota has been off his food in the morning, and each day I would go to the supermarket trying to work out what else I could try to get him to eat, so that I could get his heart meds into him. What worked was me taking him into the training area and asking for a hand touch or a sit and he would happily eat the treats I gave him that he had refused half an hour earlier. I am thankful that 11+ years of training reinforcement has its benefits.

Hi Coonan05 Have you contacted Emma at Lidliriva in Brisbane to see when she is having a litter? Otherwise, as donali suggested contact the breeders on dogzonline. Its not unusual to have to wait over 12 months for a puppy, but they are worth the wait. Make sure you sight health clearances of parents, so eyes, heart and hips. Good luck

Products look terrific - but $16+ for postage to WA for 500grams - you have to be kidding
