  1. Big weekend - DWD trial tonight - picking up new lounge suite tomorrow, test driving new car, training .................and if I get time then I might just have to clean the house Really I should just get the air conditioner compressor fixed in the Tollermobeel but hey no harm in dreaming about a newer, better, bigger, shinier new car
  2. See all those letters makes me very confused . He has so many letter after his name they don't all fit on the entry form unless I use a size 7 font.
  3. Lovely Photo of Kenzie Scoota added DWDN to his name tonight and has now hung up his dancing shoes for good
  4. I am going to test drive a Caddy maxi tomorrow
  5. I'm still here back from a very Hot Adelaide with Bedazzled's lurgie Mirawee your bruise is very impressive. I bet it hurt when it happened. Trying to decide whether to spend more money on the car - or trade it in - decisions decisions Off to the RATG on Sunday - sounds like it might be a DOL reunion
  6. Hi Biker Girl - putting 2 and 2 together - I now know who you are Your kids did fantastically on the weekend - well done. Tassie - tell the distant Ed student - well done and Bedazzled and I will to celebrate
  7. Here I am Well done to Ness and Kenzie - great to see you back in the ring again - don't leave it so long between drinks next time Tassie well done to both your kids - I love reading about what they are up to - the good the bad and the ugly Xena 98 really nice to catch up - Gabby is a star . Yep it was hot and horrid trialling conditions and Gabby did so well. Bedazzled and I travelled to Adelaide for their State Championships 10 rings over 2 days which really took their toll on the old boys. On Saturday the Occasionally Clever one finished 2nd NQ in UDX, 2nd on a countback in UD to Gabby, lost 3 in the open ring work before dropping in the sit stay, 2nd to Brooklyn in Rally Excellent with 98 and he won Rally Advance with 100. On Sunday he finished 2nd in UDX but again failed distance control, lost 2 in the open ring work - but I opted not to do stays as he was struggling and I felt that I was setting him up to fail, pulled him out of UD after the first box because he was hot and struggling, 2nd to Brooklyn in Rally Excellent and 1st in Rally Advance with 100. He won the top Rally Advanced B combined score over the 2 days 200/200
  8. so you spend 2 years teaching a dog to wait and the moment you introduce them to retrieving wait is no longer in their vocab Looking forward to hearing how everybody went over the Easter long weekend and looking forward to seeing Ruby out in the field Rubystar. Naughty Nina (NN) had her first go with a thrower today and also her first go with a real birdie. To say she only started retrieving 4 weeks ago I am very pleased with her and her delivery to hand is beautiful. and one little brag for me....... I touched a dead birdie without gloves ok it will never happen again but I did do it!
  9. Super routine and you ran - I don't think I even see you running in agility you just distance handle !
  10. I used Kamal's (Fernandes) way of teaching heel for my last boy (with your arm out wide and teaching the dog to target or focus on your hand) and it produced very lovely pracey heelwork which looks fantastic. My latest dog, who is 11 months old I did this method for about a week and have gone off on a tangent and taught her lots and lots of other things and will go back to heelwork sometime soon. Just back from a trial where we scored 30/30, 30/30 and 28/30 for heelfree - so yep we can teach heelwork but the three dogs all failed SFE so back to the drawing board........
  11. Fantastic work Canine Coach with both your girls.
  12. Great photos TSD I would never take you on you look like you know what you are doing with that gun! Our second training day and Naughty Nina was moved from the "I don't know anything class" to the "I know just a little bit class". Our first retrieve was much longer than she has ever done before and she took a straight line, found it, brought it back, sat in front and delivered to hand. But then we fell in a hole and I discovered she will only bring back my dummy and nobody elses and also water is ok as long as it only goes up to her belly and she can keep all 4 feet on the ground. The dancing and leaping that goes on as she wills the dummy to come closer is a crack up - so hoping to get that on video for next week. I am sure Liver Treats will report on her little red borrowed dog - who I would steal if he wasn't already mine
  13. I went along too, decided at the last minute to take Naughty Nina and being a newbie we were put in the "I don't know anything class" At the end of the session she was retrieving bumpers 40m away sitting in front and delivering to hand . Livertreats is also doing a fantastic job with Strauss, who also had his first go outside of our normal training venue. Need to do some more water work with him, but its so nice watching your dog happily work for somebody else and not bother about where you are or what you are doing. Thanks Livertreats
  14. Oh yes, TSD - Ptolomy and bedazzled have lots of news ... they may still be surfacing . And RV - you have a brag too  . Is that WA speak for "sobering up?" LOL you know us well Tickled pink with all my kids. My favourite round over the 4 nights was definitely Beans in open on the Obedience night. She failed most of the exercises - but scored 210/100 for enthusiasm and after having many rounds where she has blown me off or sneezed her way around it made me smile how hard she tried. The most comical round was Cider in jumping and her love of tunnels Scoota was definitely the one with the glowing halo - winning UDX and UD at the Obedience challenge and one point behind the winner in open. Winning UD on the obedience night and 3rd in open, winning noivce heel work to music, Rally Advanced B and 3rd in Rally Excellent B His performance confirmed my decision to do a John Farnham with him and do one last tour to Adelaide in April, even though I said the last trip he did was his last There were some fantastic performances over the weekend, lots of titles but the best part was the friendship shown between competitors. Well done to everybody
  15. Oh that is magic - enjoy cloud 9 and huge congratulations
  16. Good luck to all those competing at the Classic over the weekend. May the rain gods look after us....let it rain during the day but be dry by night. It will be interesting to see how the new format for the obedience challenge goes this year with only 1 ring running at a time.
  17. After my first two obedience dogs I vowed never to teach tricks again as they would do things like throw me play bows when they were on perfect scores or somewhere really appropriate like the Royal Show So dog # 3 came along and he knows no tricks whatsoever and at 9 years of age I attempted to teach him leg weaves and it did his brain in - so no freestyle for us. Good luck with working out your routine - that too I found hard as I am not very creative
  18. The music was Rock DJ by Robbie Williams for novice and I used Belinda Carlisle Black Book for starters. Bowing out - too hard to teach a dog at 9 1/2 years old, who has been so heavily rewarded for heel position on the left, that I am changing the rules and he now has to heel on the right. Besides there is always one weak link in a partnership and I am sticking my hand up and saying its me I suck at endings! This was our first attempt every back in September.
  19. Nice newspaper spread BC4me I snuck in and got our first leg of novice HWM and have entered again next weekend at the Western Classic. The third leg will see us bow out very gracefully! I am just thankful my boy can heel no matter what I throw at him or ungraceful position I find myself in.
  20. All the working spots are taken in WA - however - we are still taking names in case people pull out. We haven't advertised the private lessons yet and anybody can audit.
  21. I agree 100% - I have had dealings with Wayne recently and he certain goes above and beyond and we all appreciate it
  22. I have a three year old toller girl looking for a home. If you know of anybody interested - can you send them my way please. Babies are nearly 7 weeks old and oh so cute.
