CC thanks for the Louis update. Scoota was on SAMe for 6+ months when he had liver failure - so I hope it is as helpful for you as it was for us.

I have just swapped my allergy girl over to Earthborn Holistic Coastal Catch too and it looks like she can eat it without running into problems.

Milk Thistle / Herbal Supplies
Ptolomy replied to CrazyCresties's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
Scoota had liver failure and his blood results said he shouldn't still be here - his liver enzymes were through the roof and he was one sick little man. It took 6 months before he was anything like back to normal but yep I think it helped a lot - along with the SAMe. Last weekend - almost 3 years to the day, he became a Grand Obedience Champion - so I couldn't have asked for a better result :-) -
Milk Thistle / Herbal Supplies

I have to be honest - Scoota was on Milk Thistle for 6 months and the best place for me to get it was the supermarket - Woolies and Coles in the health food isle. It was super cheap $15 for 60 tablets. -

Yep still done by sight and then it becomes scent discrimination once they find it. -
Obedience Proofing Games And Fun Exercises

In the west most dogs find the seekback by sight as our ovals are like bowling greens - nothing like your KCC -

and in answer to your question - I don't train UD with Scoota at all and I will never do another seekback with the seekback obsessed child if I can help it, ever again. -
Obedience Proofing Games And Fun Exercises
Ptolomy replied to leopuppy04's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
Leopuppy it sounds like very time you take Leo out you always run him through an entire UD round - so you are trying to pattern train? Is this right? Just wondering if that is where some of the problems stem from in that if any one little thing changes, the dog's understanding of the exercise goes down the drain? # 3 Put all the UD exercises in a hat - including the stays and choose three exercises out and do them in the order you picked them and reward at the end. -
Wish I had a dam like that for the kids to play in

#2 mix it up so do 1 x box without rewarding, 1 x scent, without rewarding and then the end part of signals and reward. This builds duration before getting the reward and also helps with transition. You can then do it backwards - so 1 x signals, 1 x scent and 1 x box and reward -
Considering the lack of sleep I had due to problems with the 4 legged kids, including the favoured/spoilt child who woke me at 1am stomping his feet telling me there was somebody in the bed he wanted to sleep in - I did remarkably well to get through the day Thanks for the congrats - I really appreciate it - it has certainly been an eventful ride and one I will remember for a long long time.

Agility Dogs I love reading abuot the fun you have with your dogs - its not the winning that is the icing on the cake - but the fact that you love doing things with them and the little achievements along the way are so important - well done. Goodonya Sheena 3Q out of 4 is something to be mighty proud of. So do you think you dog is trying to tell you to trust me and give me room to do my own thing? RV - well done on Track 1 Do we know if we are going to hear the patty of little paws yet? Xena 98 and Tassie - raising a glass to both of you - only at this hour its coffee and not anything stronger
