I know of Mark S, And I know that he is good, but he is a long way away. and I find most websites can be a little bit hit and miss, and doesn't always really reflect the trainer. Thats why I was asking if anyone knew about him, or had some dealings with him.

Has anybody used, or heard anything about this company??

yep I went..didn't really get a lot out of it...seemed to be more focused on novice handlers and people starting out out working with dogs..

yes they happen a few times a year, but you'll have to keep your ear out for them. They're usually advertised at most trialling clubs if one is coming up, so if your a member of an agility club, you should be able to hear of one coming up.

I think what you should of been told, is that you have to start trialing within six months of getting them measured or you will have to get them remeasured before competing. We certainly didn't wait six months before getting my dogs measured, and we've NEVER had any problems or issues

Hi Sabre's Mum Dover gardens in Marion do flyball, and you could try the South Australian dog obedience club in the park lands for Agility for puppies. (Not sure if they do or not). I know that Nourlunga City Obedience Dog Club in Morphett Vale do offer a Puppy Agility, and you might find this a great start to your border if your wanting to go further with the sport. However your pup will have to be 6 months minimum. We did this and it has helped us to learn the basic foundations before we started trialing. and it made a massive amount of difference when we came to getting in the ring Good luck

Hi Jules, Because every dog has a different metabolism and exercise routines, the feed guide on the bags are just that. Guides! However two cups of dry a day for small Cavies, does sound like a lot to me, especially as cavs are not really know for their love of exercise. I have Jack Russell's, And i go by the Rule of, For each 10kg of weight that your dog weighs, you feed one cup of food per day. I have found this is spot on for me. But as I said every dog is different so keep an eye on your dog and adjust as necessary.

I did the WEA course and found it full of info, but it wasn't hands on, Even when it came to working with my own dog it was still difficult. I think do can do all the theory work you like but nothing compares to hands on experience. In Regards to a groomer here in adelaide, Try the Spoilt Dog on Fullaton Road in Highgate. Found them to be friendly professional and best of all great dog handlers. I am a bit funny with who i leave my girl with, But these people have been great. Hope it helps

Hello Pepsi bt, If you live near the city there is a really good vet in St Peters. Stephens terrace vet clinic. If your down south you could try either the Paws Plus vets or Chandlers hill vets. East of the city try the Adelaide animal hospita on Magill rd. We have moved around a bit, but have found all of these vets to be really helpful and nice. Hope it helps.

If you were to offer a child a plate of Mars Bars or a plate of Broccoli. Most kids would take the chocolate, not because it's better for them, it's just what they would prefer. As dog owners we have to make the choices for what is best for our dogs. Make sure that the diet is complete & Balance with all Vitamins, Nutrients, Minerals, Carbs & Protiens etc. Now if you use Dry Food or Barf or Home Cooked it doesn't matter as long as it has everything that your dog requires to grow in a healthy way. Whatever you choose, it should always look for the diet to be "Complete & Balanced" I was always taught that you should never leave food down for a dog to graze on all day either. I was told to give your dog a certain amount of time to eat their food and if they don't eat it then it should be taken away. This will tell them that if they don't eat their food when given to them, they will miss out. and your dog should start to eat whatever you put down for them.

JRT's really enjoy agility training as well. They're fast and agile and love running and jumping. My girl just cant wait to start the course. Also were looking into lure racing too. We do all this just because not only is it fun for both me and the dogs, but it's a great way to get out and meet other people who enjoy their dogs just as much as i do.

JRT's are a fantastic breed. Full of energy, exitement and personality. I have 3 of them and would never dream of giving them up for any reason. If your prepared to give them the physical exercise and mental stimultaion that these dogs require, then you'll have a wonderful time with your new Jack Russel. Training them isn't all that hard, but as others on DOL have suggested positive methods work better than non positive.

Hi guys thanks for the quick replys. Ive been reading a lot on this site regarding both courses, and i understand about Delta positive reinforcement only policies. Personally i feel it's important to know about ALL aspects of training which includes the use of reasonable punishments, and when and how to use them effectively and appropriately. But what i'm trying to understand is what makes the "Cert 4" better than the "Cert 3" Or is there any difference in it at all??

Hello All, As a newbie to DOL, I was wondering if anybody can tell me the difference between the NDTF Cert 3 and the Delta Cert 4 courses. There is an obvious difference in the pricing, and am trying to work out just what the difference is (In a basic sense). Thanks
