I did have a similar situation with my Staffy Matilda when she was 1yr old. I work in a pet supply store (where dogs visit all the time for their hydrobaths) when one day she was meeting another Staffy and got bit on the lip! 3 weeks later Matilda escapes the office and runs up to a family with 2 dogs instore, sniffs around and then bites THEIR little dog on the lip! I was totally mortified and payed for the woman to take her dog to the local vet, while going over and over what happened in my head. It seems that when the small dog went submissive and turned away from Matilda she bit her, which is exactly what happened when Matilda went submissive to the Staffy that bit her. It seems like she got a little confused about appropriate reactions and greetings, we now always keep her on lead around unknown dogs and use a correction collar when she is at other people's homes who have dogs. I would love to be able to take her to a dog park and let her run free, but unfortunatly I will never trust her or the other dogs there enough for that

I work in a pet supply store in VIC and this happened to a customer of ours. His dogs were impounded when the puppies were 5 weeks old and they were Boxer x AmStaff! Idiots!

I think the reason that the dogs end up with creepy basement dog eyes is because they no longer have a catchlight in them. Maybe if you add a little sparkle to each eye after removing the glow might make it a little less unreal

Try spending some time introducing them in a quiet environment. When i did this i had the cat and dog inside (my cats only go outside on harness but you could do it outside if you want). Have one person with the dog and one with the cat, when they are being calm continually give them both praise and lots of treats. If the dog barks turn him around and walk a few steps away from that cat and say a firm "NO" (still give the cat treats/praise if it didn't try to run away). If you do this for a while it should improve, my cat and dog now touch noses and walk past each other with total calm.

The vet looked in her eyes and didn't see anything to indicate it was entropion. I have searched the internet for an image that looks like my pup but they are all very gross pics of dogs with glands hanging out of their eyes and she is only showing a little of her third eyelids at this stage. The drops are definately Chlorasone ("for treatment of susceptible eye infections, ulcers, scratches, allergies and other conditions"). I work in a pet supply shop so i have been asking around if anybody has had a similar experience and our Rogz rep said her puppy had it from 8 weeks when she got him but that it cleared up after about 4 months. I just want to make sure there is not anything else i could be doing for her..... she isn't rubbing them anymore and most of the time they do look less red but im still worried thank you for helping

vet said her eye is just irritated and to put in Chlorasone drops.

I know its not cherry eye (well, not yet anyway) but at the moment the vet has me putting drops in her eyes 3-4 times a day for the next few weeks. I know that if this doesn't fix it she will probably need surgery, just wondering if anybody had a pup that had it clear up without the surgery?
