  1. I give ACV not just for my grass There is lots of information that tells us it's good for soo many things - dogs and people alike. I was putting it in his water because on some days he has just dry in his bowl and I didn't think he would eat it with the vinegar just splashed on top
  2. Erny - does this still have the same effect with the grass burning? Hmmm...I have ACV 2 times per day myself. Maybe that's why I have a hole and need to visit the dentist!!!!
  3. Charli - I was feeding RC but switched to EP as Duke was putting ON too much weight. For me, the EP Holistic sorted that out. He gets frames or RMB in the morning and one cup of EP in the evening plus either sardines, egg, yoghurt. Hi weight has been maintained very steadily at 29 kilos which is great for him. His coat looks great although I noticed the other day it was a little oily. I agree what works for some doesn't work for others. i have read some not so good things about Eukanuba but my Mum feeds her GSD this and she wll and truly thrives on it...beautiful coat, teeth etc and for some reason it helps with her above normal energy levels (we think she has ADD lol!). It was recommended to my Mum for this reason.
  4. I used og Rocks for a while with mixed success. Sometime they worked and sometimes they didn't. I am now using ACV and it works a treat for us. Duke drinks the water without a problem and when we first got Lizzie she didn't like it but also drinks it fine now. Up until last week we had beautiful green lawn but since filling the clam pools up for the dogs in the heat they tend to drink that as well as the water in their bowl. I have now started to get burn marks in the lawn. The only alternative would be to add the ACV to their pool water - a bit costly though. So for now, their comfort in the heat is more important than our lush lawn. So thumbs up for ACV!! from this household.
  5. After some help here. Duke gets fed Eagle Pack Large Breed Holistic. This has added Glucosamine etc for joints. I feed Lizzie EP Holistic Chicken. My question is : If Lizzie were to be fed the Large Breed formula, what would happen. Would it hurt her in any way?? I am just trying to avoid buying two big bags of dog food and having to store it. The alternative I guess would be to buy the EP Natural and add the Glucosamine etc in for Duke. What do you guys think??? Thanks.
  6. And was this from Pookinuk t-time? I get mine through Pet Deli because they have free shipping but they don't offer any other deals. When I fed RC they gave the same thing tenth bag for free.
  7. Only raw....on occassions that Duke has had those dry ones, he has very runny stools. Marrow bones, chicken frames, chicken necks, lamb flaps.
  8. Thanks ClareL...i haven't heard her do it today. I'll keep that in mind.
  9. No, no medication...although have thought of an appetite supressant Kidding!
  10. Thanks Freckles. I feel better knowing I don't have the only fridge robbing, theiving dog!!!! WOW..2 kilos each. How many poops came out the other end???
  11. It was quite funny but no he wasn't too happy either Now the kids will often tell him to "Behave, or Mum will squirt you". Told my Mother In Law to buy one and keep it at her place to use on him when he steps out of line!!!!
  12. I have a Cav the same - drives me insane when she starts jumping around and barking. She has to sit quietly for her dinner but she is trembling the whole time I used to have a storage bin for their dry food with a clip on type lid - they got into that one day and ate so much they looked like barrels themselves and could hardly walk! Now I have screw top container! So I don't think it is the quantity, I just think they love food! On the positive side, she is very easy to train when you are holding a treat. Yes, I agree Jemapelle. Training is a breeze. Food rewards get him to do practically anything!!! We have done TOT at feed time since he was a puppy and god love him, his eyes don't move from me but his fronts legs shake sooooo much
  13. I have to watch how much I feed him cause he puts weight on so easily. Puggy Puggy suggested vegies to fill him up a bit more and they are low cal so we are going to try this and see how he goes.
  14. You must be kidding. You are awesome. I absolutely love it
  15. Nah!! He does it to absolutely anyone. If we are eating at the table, inside or outside, I keep a water spray bottle with me. He hates that. So if he comes near the table I just pick up the spray bottle and he goes away. I feel mean but he drives us nuts. My father in law would feed him from the table. One day he went to give him a piece of sausage so I squirted him Unfortunately he's not as easy to train as a GSD
  16. Thanks 4Paws...was just looking at a similar type thing on Google.
  17. Harminee, if possible, could you please wave your magic and do a signature for me. I would really appreciate it thanks. Codi (Maybe just the top photo if you can Lizzy Duke Thankyou
  18. Thanks ZEPING..already checked this out the first time she did it.
  19. HELP!!!!! Duke drives me absolutely crazy when it comes to food! He is what I would call a scavenger. He never gets enough food. He is always hungry...or seems to be. What can I do to stop this? We open the fridge and he jumps around stupid and this could be right after I feed him. On a few occassions he has opened the outdoor fridge and eaten whatever he could...2 kilos of chicken necks one day!!! Of course now, the laundry door is locked if I am not home so he can't get into the fridge or into the tub where I keep his dry food. The garbage bin is kept out the front so he can't get into it. But if I walk out the back door with something in my hand he thinks it's food and carries on stupid. I might have washing powder in my hand LOL. He is hard to keep weight OFF. He is fed Eaglepack Holistic for Large Breeds alternated with sardines, egg, yoghurt,RMB, chicken necks and wings etc. Anyone have any suggestions how to fix this or even why he is like this??? ETA :I've had dogs before who haved loved their food but this is quite extreme.
  20. vampy, the formula's I've purchased form here http://www.floweressences.com.au/dog.htm are just used once per day,you can also give them twice a day for a few days as well. If using straight rescue remedy they can be used as required 4Paws - Have these worked well for your dogs? I was looking at a combination of calming and courage for Duke who is storm phobic.
  21. Duke (GSD) has Eaglepack Holistic along with RMB, chicken frames, sardines, eggs, youghurt. he had itching and goopy eye issues when he was eating Royal Canin and Pro Plan Lizzy, who is a rescue we adopted on Saturday is eating Supercoat Small Dogs because our Pet Store gave it to us. Not sure how good it is but we'll see how she goes. She also gets RMB, sadines etc etc
  22. Yep...either by drops or spray. I wouldn't say a sedative as such...more just a calming tonic.
  23. Go on.. you know you want to. Did it work GSD Mum? I admit yes I did it and yep, that's how she sounds
