Thanks for all the advice and suggestions. I will definitely try at least one of them. A new dog is always a new challenge. But they never cease to amaze you. They are so funny and frustraing all at the same time.

I know she won’t bite me. It’s all bluff. I only got her about 2 months ago. She only does the barking back when after playing or I've been with them outside, I go back inside the house and she jumps on the glass door. Of course I go and tell her "NO". This is when she goess off and starts barking. The other one does not do this. (I got her since puppy-hood). But then she's really the noisy one cause she barks a lot when playing with the other dog and the other one does not really bark at all. (weird really) When I try to make her submit, i don't have to force as she does it herself. I've been doing this as I want them to be in a submissive postion when my kids try to pat them or when we are outside and some children asked to pat them. They love to socialise with bth canine & human. I've been helping her get over her phobias as when we got her, she was an indoor dog and she is now mostly an oustide one. She was scared of the lawn mower, the water, the car. But now she's better. Not sure if she was expose to a lot of house happeninsg before. She is really a sweet dog(when you have food on your hands  Hopefuly this is just a phase and will pass soon.

My 9-month old beagle barks at me when I tell her off when she is being naughty. Is this their way of talking back like human teenagers? She then runs away if I try to grab her (to put her on the ground)to make her submit. Any one else experience this with their dogs? Any advice? It's just annoying as she has a very loud bark and I don't want her to get the idea that she wins if I try and ignore her barking.

I'm so relieved that I'm not the only one with this issue. I've been or my hubby has been supervising their feed and letting the slow eater eat first. They are also not given the "ok" command to eat until they are calm and sitting. I must say I'm not sure why Bella (the thieving one ) gorges her food when her previous family actually fed her too much and too often and she came to us way too overweight. Reduced number of feed sand exercise running around in the backyard with Lucy put her in great shape.

Well we have two beagles, 7mo Lucy and 8mo old Bella. Lucy we raised from 9weeks and the Bella we got 4 weeks or so ago. Bella eats like there's no tomorrow and Lucy eats like a lady. I usually give food to Lucy first as she eats very slow and give her a head start. Now when Bella finished her meal and I'm not there to supervise, she will try and steal Lucy's food. so I always wait until they are both finish. How do I train Bella not to steal Lucy food? Bella is very protective of her food and growls at Lucy if she comes close to it. But Lucy on the other hand does not do this.

Thanks for the info guys. Lucy surprisely is not so food driven...or maybe i have the wrong treats? And also she loves to play too much...too too much that she thinks everything is a game. She's usually well behaved when she's tired. -
I am also eager to know what to do in this situation. We also have two puppies, a 7 months and 6 months. We just adopted the 7 month old this week and the 6 mo old we had since 9 weeks. They play non-stop even at night time. Sometimes there are growling also and I don't know if I should stop them or something.

Looking into taking our 6 month old beagle to obedience training or some sport where she can socialise with other dogs and also use her power sniffing to good use...maybe...anyone has any idea if there is any around Penrith area? -
SHe does wear collar. could that be causing the irritation? How small are fleas? I tried looking but could not see any or maybe i just know what i'm looking for. Thanks for your suggestions. I am tempted though to wash her more often since she seem to get herslef dirty everytime.

My 14week old beagle scratches her neck all the time. Could it be fleas? I can't see anything when I have a look at ther neck. What do they look like anyways? It's been awhile since I saw one. :p She likes rolling around in the grass and also digging a hole in the backyard and sitting in it. How often can I wash a dog?
