If you cant put a litter tray behind the TV cabinet as suggested then I would suggest you lock her in the laundry for a week or two. Also have a look at what might be able to get into the laundry and are you using a covered litter tray. Cats are at their most vulnerable when they are going to the toot so this kind of stuff is often associated with some kind of stress around where the litter tray is . She may have just forgetten [old age] so keeping her in one room for a while would help. You see this kind of stuff if you have more than one cat , a dog or pup or even kids that make her feel threatened when she needs to go to the toot Its why cats poo behind the cabinet and the dog will poo anywhere.

Rosemary [for humans] has precautions on it and shouldnt be be used during pregnancy and is unsuitable for people with epilepsy or high blood pressure. These are the big ones but there are more. Based on the fact that the AMOUNT of rosemary in this food isnt noted, that it doesnt easily wash out of the body and may have an acculmulative effect would make me hestiate to feed this over a long term.

Vet Shocked At Me Giving My Dogs Vegies
Steve replied to sugar's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
Green vegies have a substance in them that dogs cant digest so you may as well feed them marbles if you dont break down the cell wall by juicing or pulverising them . Cooking works for this also but not much point as the cooking kills off the enzymes and the vitamins. Corn is a cereal and is reknowned for over heating the blood so commercial foods high in corn cause problems with itchy skin etc than others but small amounts in the diet wont do any harm. Except no matter what size your dog is you run a risk if you allow them to eat the cob . It doesnt break down and causes blockages . A small dog may break off smaller pieces to eat but a small dog only needs a small piece to block up the works. In the wild dogs do eat the insides of herbivores and carnivores BUT these animals have a different digestive system and their digestion starts in their mouth so by the time it gets to the intestine its had a chance to be exposed to all of the enzymes the dog needs to have the cell walls broken down so they can digest it , Plants from the nightshade family [tomatoes and potatoes] have a group of alkaloids which may cause a problem . Most plants with this substance in are drugs [ tobacco is one of them] but in food plants there are smaller amounts so its pretty rare to see an instant reaction. Green on a potato tells you that there is a high amount of these alkaloids and its better for people and dogs to avoid them . You cant cut the bit off and eat the rest or cook it as it doesnt die off during cooking. Its a bit technical because the green bits in a potato are actually chlorophyll and not the alkaloid but this is a sign of high amounts of a the dangerous stuff being in the potato . This is why cutting the green bits out doesnt work . Remember that dogs cant digest chlorophyll anyway. Now here's where it gets really interesting Plants make alkaloids to protect themselves from insect that may want to eat them . These chemicals are toxins which can kill bugs and there is very little difference in dog DNA to a bugs DNA .In potatoes 2 alkaloids have been looked at pretty extensively They have a steroid like property which blocks an enzyme in nerve cells [ called cholinesterase] Now if you eat enough of this stuff at once you see things like muscle twitching etc but in smaller amounts you dont SEE any symptoms. The second is related to damage to the joints as it causes inflammation and damage casused by an inability of the joint to hold minerals in the correct balance. Now up until recently health professionals ignored the fact that these alkaoids did this as the results dont show straight away BUT it has been shown to cause calcium loss from bones and excessive depositing of calcium in soft tissues. In a pregnant bitch it may cause eclampsia or toxemia because of the mineral absorption inbalance. Also because these plants have very small amounts of other alkaoids like nicotine there's some research going on re its impact on internal systems as well. This is one of the reasons Im against people feeding their dogs potato based foods such as Eukanuba [ which happens to be owned by the pringles chip people] Also many commercial foods these days have added herbs which often carry this as well. The fact is that there is enough science to support that feeding these foods may impact on many things associated with good health but its a long term effect and so noone sees the association. If you have a dog that is sensitive to these alkaloids then you may see instant reactions and eating green tomatoes isnt the best idea as they have much more nicotine like substances in them. Personally I limit potatoes and tomatoes [ and eggplant ] in my dog's diets and because my genetics tells me I have a fair chance at R Arthritis myself I steer clear of them [most of the time] I would advise any dog owner who has a breed of dog which has a propensity to things such as HD to stay clear of them as well. Any dog which has a problem with nerve muscle damage or joint problems it may be worthwhile to take off anything that comes from this family of foods. When you look up the ingredients content of a commercial food you need to consider each as an individual to really understand what you're feeding and the potential cost to your dog. [over time] There's a simple answer. Feed lots of different foods with lots of variety . This way the chances that you will either give too much of something or too little of something is remote. Vegies are great but they only need to be a small part of the diet so shouldnt be a worry at all. -
Two 6 Week Chihuahuas Home Alone

Doubtful your breeder is registered with the Canine Council as this is against the code of ethics for every single one. However whether they are or not there's one thing for sure and that is they are complete morons and if I were you Id find another breeder. One who doesnt allow their babies to go to new homes this early and one that vaccinates their pups and keeps them for at least 10 days after the vaccination before they go home. -
It all does get a bit confusing and much of what you have been told is right but Im really against supplimenting just one nutrient as there is no such thing as a nutrient which doesnt rely on others to do its job. When you go for just one there's a high probability that you will end up over or under supplimenting causing more problems overtime. Its little bits of everything and not lots of one or two that will help for the long term.

Dr Kennedy in one of his articles and presentations on fluoride wrote quote. The fluoride in the pet food can cripple the dog. If the pet food contains ground bone meal then it will be high in fluoride since the animal stores the fluoride in the bones over a lifetime. Therefore the secret to the dietary treatment for arthritis in animals is “no ground bone meal.” There's lots of research which tells us of an adverse impact of fluoride for dogs especially on their joints and long bones. I cant access the references for you at the moment as Im packing and cant get to the text books. But it does seem to tell us that some breeds of dog seem to be more suseptible to fluoride than others. Its just a bit of a safeguard when you see something like this happening to cover your bases . Quick question is the dog getting much sunlight?

O.K. Better hang on a minute. Firstly dont elevate the feeding bowl and as a metter of fact you would be better to throw the feeding bowl away altogether, Dont add vitamin C unless its inthe form of orange juice as adding vitamin C alone in a dog causes problems .In a pup especially dogs produce their own vitamin C and adding it to their diet has an effect which makes them stop doing what they are supposed to be doing naturally As long as all else is going in which the pup needs to metabolise the nutrients so it can produce vitamin C, supplimenting has an adverse effect, Dont add extra calcium as the pup is getting enough with the commertcial and the wings but I would cut out the mince unles its chicken pet mince. A much simpler remedy is to give the dog some childrens chewable vitamin and mineral tabs or a liquid will do and add some apple cider vinegar .Personally Id cut out the commercial and increase the wings . If you're going to go with the glucosamine it works better and has more chance of doing what its supposed to do if it has condriontin and MSM with it. If you have fluoride in your water it may be an idea to give him non fluoride water for at least a few weeks.

Greentea if you can say that you quite like the taste then Id say you have a watered down brand. Is it certified by the Aloe Council? Or maybe you smoke cigars and your taste buds are buggered. -

Goldielover MMMM All things considered including your poo problem Id go 100mls and then come back here in two days and tell me if anything has changed. Cut out any other suppliments and have a go at nothing else but chicken wings until then. Give her one and when she's finished eating it give her another until she says she's had enough twice per day. -

depends what you're using it for .The only side effect from it is runny poos so if you see that for the first day or two stick with it but if the runny poos stay for more than 2 days take the dosage back a bit. Id give the dog 100mls for the first week then back it off to about 20mls unless of course you're working on something specific that needs a good shove for the immune system. David Urch [vet] wrote a book on this stuff for animals and he recommends 5mls even for a brand new puppy . curious to see how it tastes ? Filthy. -

Goldielover Throw away the capsules they wont do what you need them to do. Go after the juice instead and you'll see a huge difference Just make sure its the good stuff and that its certified .Costs more and tastes heaps worse but well worth it for the results. Id also throw away the Hills . -
Scratching So Much - Her Face Is Bald!

Is it allergy or bad habit ? Neither . Tell me about what she eats, what the climate is like? How long before the symptoms did she have a vaccination? Is she on any heartworm meds or anti flea/ tick stuff etc. No matter what , when you see a problem with a dog's skin its ALWAYS about the immune system Rashes caused by mites, fungus, food allergies, contact allergies etc cant occur in a dog that has a good immune system . Staph and strep are secondary issues caused by bacteria getting into broken skin . You can use all kinds of potions and lotions and some may even seem to be making a difference but unless you work on whats going on inside the dog and go after cleaning up the bloodstream and the immune system it will either continue the way it is or come good on the surface and begin affecting things you cant see inside the dog . Might even take a while for anything else to show such as cancer , liver or pancreatic problems etc but its always about the immune system. You boost the immune system of a dog the same way you do with people. A balanced varied diet with a minimum of processed foods and lots of fresh foods with loads of vitamins, minerals, and amino acids. . Eliminate chemicals and anything else in the environment that may cause stress. You can use Aloe Juice to give it a quick boot as well. -
Aloe Vera Juice - Getting Them To Drink It
Steve replied to caffiend42's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
I drink the aloe and it tastes just as I would imagine cats wee would taste . Gotta psyc myself up for 10 mins every morning to get it in. I cant look into the glass when I skull it [ have to close my eyes] take a big gulp of air before I get it anywhere near my mouth and I try not to breath out until I can get in some water to wash my mouth out . God its nasty stuff. I cant watch while anyone else takes it either Have to leave the room .It has an enzyme in it which naturally makes people gag just like something else [ same enzyme] which Im not prepared to say on the forum . My dogs dont seem to be bothered by it and the cats love it . However nothing equals it for your immune system and its almost worth putting up with the taste when you start noticing the results. Honestly though the benefits for dogs are huge and there's nothing that comes near it for skin problems or the immune system and its a perfect example of how many things can be affected by diet. -
O.K. Then there's nothing to worry about here . Now before I go on it does kind of stick to my keyboard a bit to try to help you feed your dog kibble as I think its proably the worst thing anyone can do to a pup but I respect the fact that its your choice. Firstly offer him what ever food you want him to eat in very small portions ON THE GROUND WITH NO BOWL or on a flat tray and walk away as if not to watch him. If he doesnt eat iwithin about 15 mins pick it up and then offer him chicken .[ one at a time ] If he'll eat chicken mince the mixing a bit more of another food each day will work as well but if he wont go for the mince you'll just have to wait him out. As long as you can feel his ribs and not see them there's nothing to worry about as long as he's eating the chicken, ACV and vitamin mineral .

How many chicken wings is he eating? Pups that eat raw meaty bones only need to be fed twice per day and its normal for him to take a break from food for a day or two if he's had a big meat meal. He must be getting enough to eat or he would be too thin and the vet would have seen this. Until he comes around and has a go at eating other things you can stop a lot of what you're worrying abot by putting some apple cidar vinegar in his drinking water and giving him a childrens mulit vitamin and mineral each day. There's enough amino acids and minerals in th echicken wings to do all that need s to be done if you add these two things. If adding chicken mince to the kibble hasnt encouraged him to eat Im pretty sure he just simply not hungry. Many people expect that their pups will eat more than they actually do and when we send a new pup home one of the most common questions is about a concern that they arent eating enough. You can also swap the wings for some carcasses [cheaper] Unsure what your set up is like but sometimes they can be having a lend of you as well. I got a call from a puppy buyer once who was feeling the same as you so she started to watch the pup and she found that he would take a wing and run off to eat it and come back to say he wanted more so she would give it to him . One morning she caught him after spying on him and he was hiding the wings and not going anywhere near them until he thought she wasnt watching. Then sat around all day eating . So how much is he getting? And are you feeding the kibble in a bowl or off the ground ? How long do you leave the food down before you take it away?

The Master Dog Breeders Academy is a multi level service provider for dog breeders, their puppy buyers and other adult and junior responsible dog owners. Our emphasis is on the people [breeders and owners] and not the dogs. The only requirement for admission to the first level of membership with either the Breeders section or the Responsible Dog Owners section is that each person agrees to abide by the code of ethics. Relevant to whichever group they are joining. Breeders and future breeders on this level are given options for free advertising on our web site, access to many resources which they can use for their breeding practices, a members only forum to discuss issues relating to breeding and their dogs, retail and service discounts, the ability to attend seminars, correspondence courses [some with work experience components] Modules can be completed separately, examined by qualified teachers - certificates are issued on successful completion of each module - and students learn at their own pace. MDBA clients and students are a respected international community with online campus benefits. They then obtain documentary evidence of their skill, experience and knowledge level to demonstrate to their puppy buyers and their peers their desire to learn as much as possible about their hobby and to be the best dog breeders they possibly can be. . Dog owners who purchase their dog from Master Dog Breeder Members gain access to our responsible Dog owners section free of charge and people who have purchased their dogs from another source pay a small fee to have access to many resources which help them to be more responsible dog owners and be rewarded for their behavior and have fun while they are at it . . . Owners score points for their actions which show they are doing the right thing that brings them rewards and advantages along the way as they attain each level. They also have access to member’s forums, newsletters, competitions, discounts, our course options and many more surprises. We intend to support our members by providing them with all the tools and resources they require to build their knowledge level, to take up advocacy roles when appropriate with governments and law makers, to work toward educating the public on the benefits of buying from our members, educating our children on responsible dog ownership requirements within the school system and work in a proactive rather than a reactive manner. To have our members seen with high regard in the community Current breeders, future breeders, and all dog owners are invited to join our membership and take advantage of what we have to offer for the benefit of all Canine life.
