  1. People will only have risks IF they put themselves in that situation, lets be honest no one is making them put themselves in risky situations. As someone said on Ozshow the club would have already contracted judges and probably paid out money, so I can understand them not wanting to cancel just yet.
  2. Yeah I know things can change but hoping it doesnt. Marilyn said basically only if the show grounds go under will it be called off. I'm hoping that I can get out of my driveway! It is flowing!! I'm glad we are on a sloping block.
  3. I wish QLD shows would offer it, I dont have anything myself to enter but I do have a few friend that have neuters that are wanting to show.
  4. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! Dont say that! I am so looking forward to it and havent had a show in a month. I just spoke to MArilyn and she said the show will go on! So thats a Woo Hoo.
  5. I'm hoping with all this rain around we can actually get up there!
  6. I agree complaetely with Jed. And I think this seems to be a cover up by Ana Mesto. Thanks for posting that Beck. I think it is bullspit. If the judge was doing that to the dog after the class, why was the other competitor standing waiting to table his dog? If the video was sped up, why were none of the people in the film speeded up? What does it for me is the increasing look of horror on that poor pup's face. It gaited out nicely with the owner, and then baulked at returning to the judge. The judge might lie, the video might lie, but the little pup didn't lie. There was some discussion on another list, and apparently this judge has had other complaints lodged against her. Not that that is important - the bottom line for me is the reaction of the pup. Edited to add - the pup certainly gaited wonderfully for a pup which dragged it's backside earlier, and it was happy about the owner lifting it off the table, no attempt to bite - nuh, don't believe a word. Saying "This is the truth" is supposed to be the mark of someone who is lying Seems to me as if the judge is doing a #1 coverup. Not only does this look disgusting to people who don't show (as we have seen here), but it IS disgusting. If any judge tried to do any or all of those things to any of my dogs, and particularly a pup, in the ring, I would poke her eye out.
  7. Not all the schedules are available on line, they only get put up 1 month at a time, and the new months schedule is usually available on line about a week before the dogworld comes out. It is not in the January dogworld that has all the March shows so it should be in the February book.
  8. Marilyn is down in brisbane until Christmas apparently so will possibly do it next week. If your worried just give her a call maybe after boxing day.
  9. I once was walking a friends Wolfie around as she was a tiny bit timid and she was walking around fine, and we walked past the toy group, it was funny watching the old biddies ripping there little fluffies off the ground by there leads because this big scary dog who would hurt a fly was walking past. Yep some people are idiots!! Hey!!! There are two ways of looking at this. First of all - little dogs are big dogs in little bodies and they are like to have their say. This can be quite disruptive as once one starts they all get involved. Secondly - why shouldn't the "little fluffies" be collected off the ground? Better to be sure than sorry. Did your Wolfie have a sign around it's neck saying it wouldn't hurt a fly? Did you consider that if the fluffies got loose, they could have run at your dog and little fluffies are not flies. My experience is an Irish Setter attacking my Yorkie as we were walking past Group 3. And the Irish broke it's lead. Luckily my dog jumped up into my arms. Yes !!!! Some people are idiots and they are all over the showgrounds at every group. And there are plenty of old biddies at every ringside Bottom line is that no matter where we are walking our dogs at the show, all care should be taken by everyone to ensure their dogs are under effective control, just like the old biddies ripping their fluffies off the ground. For one the dog was under effective control and wouldnt hurt a fly infact she was almost half asleep, and the old biddies didnt need to be ripping there dogs off the ground by there leads, bend down and pick them up. And it was only the older people that were ripping there dogs of the ground, no one else bothered. In their defence, I often pick my fluffie up when bigguns are around just because she can be intimidated by them, not because I think they would be nasty... but their size alone can be scary and if you want a bright, happy, chirpy dog in and around the ring you try to minimise chances for them to become frightened. Pick your fluffy up by all means, but do just that PICK it up! I thought it was ridiculous how they were ripping there dogs off the ground by there leads, basically by there necks.
  10. I started another thread about the judge change before this one. Didnt think to put the same info in here Oops. Hoping the weather plays nice for us.
  11. I know there's a few people going to Maryborough, so its looking to be a great show! Who's going and when are you heading up there? We are going up on Friday, hopefully it wont be too hot or wet!!
  12. I spoke to CCCQ and they said it will be in the Feb magazine!
  13. Havent done anything too bad. I was showing for friends and first took in afghans ~ tail up, then took in beagles ~ tail up then took in a firends Dachie and yep you guessed what I done held its tail up I stood there with this poor Dachie stacked on the table with its tail up like a beagle, didnt even realiae until the judge came up to me in tears from laughing and told me what I had done! In my defence I was hurting as I had stepped in a hole while showing the beagles and hurt my hip. It will be 4 yrs in January and I still cop the flack for it from the person that owns the Dachies. Also 2 yrs ago I was at a country show and I had to wait for baby in show, I was walking around talking and had my mobile in my pocket. A friend asked my to show her Pomeranian, so in I go half way around my mobile rings ;) I pull the phone out and throw it to the edge of the ring, it hits the ground bounced and lands in the judges hand wash tub! I couldnt have gotten it in there if I tried! I kept going with the dog (oh well the show must go on) but the lovely judge ran over grabbed it out and started trying to dry it off on her skirt! I pulled the phone apart and put it on the top of the trailer to dry out. The phone lasted another 2 months after that then died. I have seen a guy run into the leg of a gazebo that was providing shelter for the table, the club had the gazebo legs wrapped in fluro tape but this guy just smacked straight into it. Bent the gazebo leg in a huge way!

  15. Oh rubbish - there are no 'reserved' patches in SA - not around ring 5 anyway. If people told you there were, then they shouldn't have - How rude of them!! I set up around ring 5 every week - if you want ringside you have to get there early (or the day before). I did read in my recent journal, that they are considering raising funds by 'renting' ringside space to people each week which would then be reserved BUT this hasn't come into being yet... Personally, I'd like to see the rings at SACA rotated every year - why should the toy people get all the shade and get to be close to the facilities and group 5 get stuck with no shade and the longest walk from the facilities... enigma - what are your first couple of shows? After this weekend, we don't actually have any all breeds shows at SACA for quite awhile - none in January or February - so you'd either be out at Karabeetha Reserve, (mostly enough room if we have rings on both ovals like we normally do at New Years Eve - was a bit squishy the other week when we had to be contained on the soccer pitch cos there was cricket still happening), or at Heathfield Oval - and I suspect that will be quite squishy, for parking at least - there isn't much up there... This isnt rubbish!! I got told something very similar by a friend that was doing some travelling and doing shows along the way! She was actually warned to move because the person who's spot it was got rather nasty if her spot was taken. So friend move, she said 30 mins before the show started this other person waltzed in and claimed her spot. The woman then had ago at my friend for setting up in her spot! This is after my friend had moved elsewhere. Friend came away with a very dim view of SA showies.
  16. Haha someone that thinks like me, I hate clothes shopping too!! I hate shopping in general unless its for dog stuff!!
  17. In Qld I think we have to leave 3mtrs between gazebo and ring. I like the sound of WA 5 mtrs would be great!! 2 mtrs I think is ridiculous! Now where near enough room. Even 3 mtrs is getting a bit squashy.
  18. I am after the schedule for Woodenbong show if anyone has that info please?
