I dont have a car or I would! so my only option is to let the run on a main and very busy road or ring the council and wait for the stupid bloody owner! bloody hour and a half l;ater still waiting for her to turn up!!
-
Yet again I have caught 2 stray dogs, the SAME 2 stray dogs! This is the 5th time in 3 weeks! I ring the council and they connect me to the owner and she says she is coming to get them. And then the useless bloody owner take a frickin hour or more to turn up!! She is only from 2 bloody streets away!! I am soooo p!$$ed off at the moment! I was supposed to go out 30 mins ago! and I told her that I had to leave at 9:30 could she please be here before then! FFS!

Get a letter and have it with you. Some will accept it some wont. Some judges wont even say anything about the missing tooth. I had an afghan that had a tooth missing if the judge checked his bite and didnt mention the missing tooth I would mention it and the letter. But I have to say: Oh shit who and how??

Question For Breeders About Pet Stores.
Jsk replied to lovemesideways's topic in General Dog Discussion
Pet shops leave the animals in the shops! They dont get leave the shop until they are sold. Isnt it against ANKC regs to sell to a pet shop? I know it used to be 15 yrs ago. -
Can someone let me know how many basenji's are entered when they have a catalogue. Thanks
-
Oops! I have never been out of the country so its all the same place to me

I am only stating what I was told today and the person I spoke to is not a novice. He likened it to an open show for that breed only. Quite frankly I dont give a care as my breed doesnt have a national!

Capanash, maybe a personal joke that I am not following? Royal Geelong Show Bathurst and geelong?? JSK, you did not query Toowoomba? Bathurst Royal and Toowoomba Royal BTW Canberra and Darwin do not constitute *state* Royals Simply forgot about toowoomba but know when that is anyways. Didnt know bathurst and geelong even existed as far as being a Royal show! And didnt know Canberra and Darwin werent classed as Royals, I guessed every state had a royal.
-
I just spoke to Dogs QLd and they sid that yes challenge and BOB can be awarded just NO points can be given! Which would be a bummer if you won BIG!
-

there are atleast 6 weekends of shows held at Maryborough each year (prolly more) to me its a bit like a little durack where alot of clubs hold there shows at the same grounds. Fantastic show great canteen and always a fun weekend. As you already mentioned there is durack. Depending on where you move to there is also heaps of shows just over the NSW border, Murwillumbah is only an hour from Brisbane and holds many shows there through out the year. Not sure what you class as big but shows at Maryborough and Murwillumbah both average at 500+. There is also HEAPS of smaller ag shows that arent too far away (atleast not for me I am in Ipswich) and those ag shows average anywhere from 150 to 450 ish. Usually the further away you go the smaller the show, also friday ag shows generally arent as big! If you do move and you arent set on moving to the coast have a look around at the Ipswich area and outskirts, it is pretty good price wise (better than most places) and really when you look at it, it is fairly central to everything, your kind of in the middle of almost any direction. Good luck. If you have any other questions just ask.

Same goes if you see me! I'll prolly have the only basenji there!
-
I dont think its misleading, some of the open shows are larger than the country shows!
-
I will be showing on my own alot, although travelling to shows with friends, they have dogs in different groups to mine. I will have 2 bitches of the same breed that will ALWAYS be up against each other for challenge, and it wont be uncommon for me to have the only 2 for the breed. Thankfully I am not new to showing and know heaps of people. So its all a matter of getting to know people and figuring out in advance that you will need help and to ask someone (most people wont mind helping). Good luck!!
