  1. Thanks Siv . Looking forward to your shots from today Freckles. I tried to be clever:
  2. Well it just goes to show who is keeping this thread alive :D Come back Harminee...we miss you!!! Nearly 10 hours since anyone posted, must be some kind of a record :D . And where the heck is Freckles??? . You can't leave me to hold the fort, it takes me bloody hours to do just one . Anyway here is today's effort. We went for a picnic & this cheeky bugger stole 2 sausages right off my daughters plate She was not impressed. I think the angle of the frame is not right...but couldn't be bothered anymore to try & fix it.
  3. Good on you for rising above the games people play when they are threatened. I guess I should have warned you when I invited you to this forum, that often newcomers are subjected to people ignoring all the beneficial information they give & "picking on" anything they can find to create conflict. So you have my apology for this. I hope this does not put you off the training forum. You have a lot to offer people here, based on your experience & success and it would be a great shame if you didn't share what you have learned over the years. There are lots of well intentioned people here, many of whom I respect greatly & some I don't, but in general I think you will find most people are open to new ideas, appreciative and eager to learn. Once again I thank you for saving Zeus's life...twice. All the theory/tools in the world could not have saved him the second time, and we will be forever grateful that you had both the experience to accurately assess the situation & conviction to act as you did. When I met you, I was pregant with 2 entire male adolescent dogs, one with fear based aggression to the point where he could hardly function & the other with high prey drive & dominance issues. Looking at the 2 sweet old guys now, you'd hardly know that they were a disaster waiting to happen. Vickie, Zeus & Noah
  4. Hi Phoenix. Yes OOB can be done in PS Elements. It is the only program I have. The only thing missing from Elements for OOB is the layers mask (although I'm sure there are ways around it). I downloaded a free plugin from the web called Earthbound Light. It gives Masks, Curves & Channel Mixer. As yet I haven't found any other limitations in Elements while following tutorials that I couldn't get around (although I will get the full PS one day when I can afford it).
  5. not sure what happened..I have reloaded it
  6. Rob is she circling you? or just moving in her own circle?
  7. Small brag??? Sounds like a BIG brag to me . Well done to both of you "but I'd already released Holly, and was too busy ruffling her fur and getting my face licked to hear" I think I know why you are succeeding so quickly
  8. That looks great Harminee! I love the 2 frames, it really gives a cool effect of the movement & speed. Well Done.
  9. Thank you so much Freckles & Harminee for doing my agility pics. I am forwarding the links to their owners...I think they will LOVE them . Here's a go I had with FHR's vizslas...a merge & an OOB. I know what you mean about the angles Harminee...I got quite frustrated with them as well.
  10. Here's a couple for you Harminee: FHR's Flynn: and Rogan: SnoopyJock's Snoopy: and Jock: was just thinking that it would be cool to do an OOB for each of them with the 2 of their dogs jumping towards each other. I don't really have the patience right now...but I would love someone to try it
  11. Bosko, although I rejected medication at the time it was suggested for Zeus, I now realise that it could have been beneficial for him. I don't however believe it could ever have substituted for the variety of exercises we were given to do nor my commitment and the commitment of my trainer in following them through.
  12. Well Done Tracey to you & your gang, sounds like you had quite a weekend ! You can tell Laddie he can be proud of his offspring as well...while he was out there strutting his stuff on sheep & winning in herding, 3 of his pups earned 4 1st places in agility & 2 his grandpups earned another 2 1sts & a 2nd.
  13. Hi Bosko, I would call my Zeus a success story. He has just turned 10 years old. At 5 months, my vet suggested that it would be impossible for him to function & be manageable without drugs for the rest of his life and the alternative would be PTS. He was extremely fearful of people, other dogs and unknown objects & his defense in any of these situations was aggression. I decided at that point that I was unwilling to use medication & wanted to let him grow up a little to see if he would grow out of it (stupid me!). Over the next year he got progressively worse & I enlisted the help of a professional dog trainer, Pinnacle dts (who has just joined the forum) & we started a program of desensitisation and exercises to help him trust me to protect him. We tackled each of his fears & worked on them separately. It was not a quick fix and took months of me following precisely each exercise we were given as well as follow ups over the next couple of years. I am pleased to say, he progressed from a pup who was unable to cope with anything in life to a dog I can walk happily offleash in the presence of other dogs & people. He became a great companion, a successful agility dog and most people do not believe me now when I describe how he started out. If you observe closely now, you can see his real temperament & it is certainly possible to create a situation where he would be uncomfortable (but unreactive), but my goal was to have a happy, comfortable dog I could manage without fear of him attacking people or dogs & I certainly feel we achieved this. I will be forever grateful to Pinnacle dts, she has saved his life on 2 occasions & helped me to give him such a better life than the one he seemed destined for at 5 months. I was told by vets he could never be a normal functioning or happy dog...they were wrong. Here's my happy boy: Good Luck Vickie
  14. CONGRATULATIONS ROB!!! What a great achievement. That's awesome for only her 2nd trial.
  15. Can wait to see the result Ruth. It's going to be a bloody big page You might have to do them in groups.
  16. Here's my ultimate merge 4 separate pics of each of my dogs, taken yesterday at the same place. I'm not quite happy with it yet...I keep moving them around . Now if only I could get them to pose like this together for real .
  17. I swear this thread has jumped 10 pages every time I look. I can hardly keep up. Great work everyone! Here's a couple of recent ones I've done:
  18. What breed is the dog? http://www.mybcsite.com/bccnswwebfiles/clinformation.htm Sound a bit old for something like CL...but maybe a google search on health issues known in it's breed might help, just in case it's a genetic breed specific condition that the vet may be unaware of?
  19. Awww, that looks so cute Harminee! You always know just where to put the frames for maximum impact. THANK YOU!
  20. not really. They are actually very relaxed around the house...until I get the camera out (Trim has licked my lense so many times it's not funny) or give them a command, like wait or stay (which actually turns them into some coil-like object...waiting to spring up at any second). You are sure right about that! My husband cannot understand how I can spend so much time on something I don't get paid for. I made the mistake of saying that it was my hobby to spend time on...just like his golf. His response was rude ;) & included the words dogs, time, agility & sheep.
  21. Oooooohhhh, look at my beautiful girl!!! Thank you so much Harminee . I actually had a go at OOB for this one once but I ran out of patience & completely stuffed it. I am so happy that you've done it for me. What a great job! I love what you did in the corner of the frame. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
