Thanks Erny Hmm well I can't feel ribs when lightly patting him. So I think you and PF and the others are right No extra food for him at the moment! He hasn't been whinging after dinner for a week or so. So maybe WP was right in that it was an alert rather than asking for more food? If we wanted to get rid of the extra kg, would we be better to cut down a little bit on his meat, his VAN or exercise more? Oh and with canned mackerel, I have been giving him the whole can including the oil. Is that what I'm meant to do? He gets it 1 - 2 times a week, and the rest of his food is raw (except his treats.)

It took a while to get the picture sorry

Leo Ear Cleaner - Replacement

Has anyone else heard it can cause poodle ears to blister? I was considering getting some but now I'm not sure. standardpoodle please let us know how you go, I hope it is ok for your poodle. -
Thanks for the tip ;) That makes sense.

Yes he is... but he was in a different room to me at the time (I'd put him in his bed) so I don't think he was picking up on anything at the time. That's why I thought it was probably hunger, because it was the same sort of whinging he does at dinner time, and his alerting behavior is to paw at me rather than whinge. But it wasn't a silly suggestion. Dogs are amazing how they can pick up on things.

Thank you ;) He's been 26.5kg - 28kg in the past two years (ages 1 1/2 - 3 1/2.) He's fed a raw diet including VAN, chicken frames, chicken wings, fish, liver, minced beef and a handful of kibble occasionally. I'd like to keep him at the correct weight, especially because I want to avoid any joint problems. Erny, I will try to get some side on photos tomorrow.

Yep he's a lab x poodle. Don't look too close at his hair do I groom him myself and it (accidentally) turns out different each time! Thank you for the advice

He's about 27.5kg. I just took these photos, sorry they're not very good. He's 3.5 years old.

I have the dremel pet model. I love it! I don't know how it compares to the others though, because this is all I've used.

Do dogs get more hungry in Winter like humans do? My dog is demanding more food and he doesn't normally do that. He's been doing it for about 4 days after he's had his dinner. I don't want to leave him hungry if I should feed him more in Winter, but I am very aware of over feeding and don't want to do that either! He's a Lab x so he would eat non stop if I let him. But he is acting really strangely the last few nights compared to normal, whinging for more even a few hours after his dinner

Yes I have saline, I'll try flushing it out, thank you -
He has hay in his eye, it's a thin piece about 4mm long. I tried getting it out with my finger and it just made it go down into the pink bit (his eyelid) but it's back up on his eye now. If I leave it will it come out on its own? He was pawing at it at first but now he's not doing that anymore, but I can still see that it's there. Thanks

Probably A Silly Question
Baby Dragon replied to Baby Dragon's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
Thank you. -
I give treats while we are training and exercising, usually pieces of dried liver and probably about a handful of kibble. Is it bad to give treats while he's running around at full speed? I know you shouldn't feed a dog and then exercise it, so that's why I'm wondering. Is it ok because it's only a handful, or should I stop giving the treats when he's running around? We are mostly doing recall training at the moment, that's why I'm using the treats.

LucyCharzie I have the exact same problem with my dog on the tiles at home. Our whole house is tiled. The tiles were bought before I had a dog, not really taking into account how slippery they can be. I'm tossing up between a non slip coating (but worried it might not last because we use a steam mop), or mats (furr collectors) or the paw pads hopenfox suggested (but it could be expensive, depending how long they last). Please let me know if you find something that works for you!

I have a Pet Dremel and I absolutely LOVE it!!!!! My dog hates getting his nails clipped, but he just snoozed when I used the pet dremel on him, even the first time I used it! It leaves the nails nice and rounded instead of sharp like clipping them does. I don't have a normal dremel to compare it to, but the pet one is nice and small and light. I can't rave enough about it!!! Thank you to the very kind Doler who put me on to it

If you're set on the breed, then that limits your options. But if you're able to be flexible with the breed, perhaps contact some of the assistance dog groups and ask about 'career change' dogs - dogs that haven't made the grade as a guide dog or assistance dog, but might suit your family's needs as a well behaved pet. Be sure to find out exactly why they didn't make the grade though. You don't want a dog with temperament problems. Hopefully they might be able to match you up with a suitable dog if you explain your needs. Righteous Pups is in Victoria. And here are some more organisations http://www.assistancedogsinternational.org...y.php#Australia

Are you wanting an assistance dog (a dog that can accompany a disabled person into shops etc just like a guide dog), or a therapy dog (a dog that visits special schools, hospitals, nursing homes etc)? Or is it that you are wanting a well behaved pet to help your children at home? My advice will be different depending on what it is you're looking for.

Me too... I have three and they are great I was given one of these a while ago. I have a 6' premium one. It's fantastic.

Protech C3 And Protech C4

Thanks Kavik! That explains it. He wasn't given a nasal spray either time though. I assumed the other canvac and canigen kc were the kennel cough vaccines.
