  1. No, nothing. I'm very careful about everything like that, he hadn't had any treatments, his food has been the same, there were no weird detergents or anything used in the house, he can't get to any shower water etc. The only thing I can think of is he licked a wall or door or the floor and he may have got dirt or furr or something like that on his tongue. When he was in the licking frenzy I pulled some furr out of his mouth, but I don't know if that was the cause of it or if he got that because he was licking. He's totally fine now. Maybe I just need to vacuum more often to make sure he can't get furr and stuff? The cats are shedding and it gets everywhere.
  2. Thank you for the advice, I didn't have any ginger essential oil handy but I'll keep it in mind for next time, he was ok overnight and seems back to normal today :D He's chewing on his paw a lot now though I've checked it thoroughly and couldn't find anything, so I've put some anti itch stuff on it from the vet and he's wearing a sock on his foot.
  3. No I can't work out what sets it off. It's like he gets a bad taste on his tongue and is trying to get it off. He just vomited grass 2 more times.
  4. This is what happens with my dog, and I was wondering if this happens to all dogs, and if I could be doing anything better to help? It's happened about 5 times in 2 years. Randomly he starts going on a licking frenzy around the house. He licks the floors, wall, floor, furniture and anything he can get to. He won't stop if I call him and I have to literally drag him away from what he's licking. If I take him outside he goes crazy eating grass and then vomits. Today this happened, but after vomiting he kept eating grass. I thought he wasn't finished and might want to vomit again. But he settled after a while and stopped eating the grass and didn't vomit again. Then inside the house he started doing the licking frenzy again. So I took him back outside and decided to try to give him some lectic soda (is that what it's called? It's whatever the vet nurses told me to give to help him vomit.) I was able to give him a little but not much, and he still hasn't vomited again. I gave him his kong with vegemite inside it to lick instead of the floors, he wasn't very interested in it but he seems to have settled again now. Do other dogs do this, and is there anything else I can do when this happens? The first time it happened I rushed him to the vet because I didn't know what it was and he had vomited around 5 times, but he was acting normal by the time we got to the vet and they couldn't find anything wrong with him.
  5. Thanks guys, I was looking at the Fidos one too but wasn't sure what else was out there. If vinegar works to disinfect that sounds good too. I'll check out Petbarn too, thanks
  6. Does that mean you don't need the special hydrobath cleaners that you can buy where they sell the shampoos
  7. What are some good brands of hydrobath cleaners? And how often do you use them? Thanks
  8. Do they eat all the bones of the marylands?
  9. Thanks everyone Is there any part of raw chicken that shouldn't be fed to dogs or cats?
  10. Is it ok to feed whole raw chicken thigh (including the bone) to dogs and cats? The dog normally eats chicken frames ok, and the cats eat necks and wings (but they don't eat the wing bones.)
  11. I was told it can be used in a hydrobath in the place of a leave in shampoo as it has cleansing properties
  12. Are Labradors known for being good at agility?
  13. I have an old Conmurra bath ( 15 years ). You access the tank by lifting up the floor pannel. I presume the newer models are filled differently I don't know, I haven't got a hydrobath yet.. I'm still looking for one I contacted mavlab and they told me you're only meant to use 20ml of the product per bath. Now I'm really confused How does that work???? That would make it a lot more economical but I don't understand it because the brochure I saw I thought said 1:100.
  14. Does anyone have the hydrobath door on the front, and would a Lab have problems getting in? I'm just thinking the dog would have to turn into the right position in the bath.
  15. I just checked out the T2. It's expensive compared to the supermarket brands. Is it worth the difference? I love green tea! (sorry for the post being a bit OT.)
  16. You can buy it in teabag form and just make it like a normal cup of tea. It's available from Coles and Woolworths in the tea and coffee aisle. If you're going to give it to her, make sure it's room temperature (obviously.) I wouldn't personally replace her water with it - she might not like it and then get dehydrated. Who told you to give it to her? A vet? Did they say how to give it to her? To mix some of the made up tea with food or something?
  17. The banana and strawberry flavours are yummy ;) I didn't like the mango though.
  18. Thanks guys. I wasn't sure if it would be too fatty or anything when given once a week.
  19. EasiYo is great ;) And I agree that it works out a lot cheaper.
  20. Thanks MTD!! That makes a lot of sense. What brand of hydrobath do you have where you can do that?
