Forward their details to their local council. I wonder if their operation is licensed.

They can be like a wombat on speed.. Staffords are DANGEROUS I tell you!!
-
Just make sure you're wearing your tinfoil hat when you call. Oh and watch out for black helicopters overflying your home. You don't happen to look like this do you Councillor?
-
Not to mention their skill for taking you out at knee level.
-
Are the people concerned about your Stafford concerned for themselves or their dogs? As a dog owner I tend to give unknown Staffords a wide berth. If I came across one unsecured in a front yard, I'd probably act the same way too. Their reputations for dog aggression are, in some instances, well deserved. Sad thing is you can't tell the DA ones from the others easily.

Hey, that could be her plan... Go PF You sound like a BYB's worst nightmare I try to remain polite but I don't have any issues making my views about what they're doing very plain.

And perhaps you might read the thread that answers some of these questions and stable your anti-BSL, pro council bashing horse somewhere else. The euthanasia is carried out by a vet. The largest revenue raiser for any council is rates. Seriously, I support your aim but your methods are akin to clobbering folk with a 4 x 2. Instead of berating a councillor on a completely unrelated subject, you might actually engage politely and attempt to influence change that way.

I don't have to deal with dog idiots. Having established a reputation as a demented Nazi inspired elistist purebred dog snob and a neighbourhood dog walker with aggressive tendencies, they tend give me a wide berth. I don't think anyone at work will show me a picture of their oooh soo cute Cavoodle puppy again soon after being left to ponder the lives the parents of that pup are forced to lead. I'm also quite happy to ask loudly about the hip scores on the Labrador and Golden Retriever you're going to crossbreed. I'm the terror of my work bulletin board - I will ask questions about the health testing of every litter posted. If, on the other hand, if you want some help on how to select an appropriate breed and find a good breeder, and you demonstrate some potential as a responsible dog owner, I'm your best friend. Two puppies homed so far.

The only note of caution I'd add would be for folk who intend to do agility with their dogs. Some clubs including mine use cones for marking numbers on courses - they might prove an irresistable attraction to a dog accustomed to playing with them.

Do Relatively Unprotective Dogs 'step Up' If Necessary?
poodlefan replied to Pete.the.dog's topic in General Dog Discussion
Neats: Not me until I got a Whippet. Howie has a deep loud bark and he seems quite willing to alert when 'strangers' arrive. Not sure I'd step into the backyard if I didn't know him. Mind you, my police dog hander neighbour reckons Ted the mini poodle is the one to watch.. -
Any chance you can give him a short walk first thing?
-
Any idea WHY he's barking? I'd be reluctant to use an aversive collar until I figured out what's going on. Is he barking because he's being separated from you?

Fortunately, the law is on the Senator's side. -
Liberal Senator Helen Kroger Injured In Dog Attack

Other than containing her dogs in their own yard, as was the case here, what steps would you suggest the Senator should have taken? My friend's Miniature Poodle put 20 stitches in her arm. If you think a Fox Terrier, bred to tackle and kill foxes, isn't capable of inflicting that kind of damage, you are sorely mistaken. An aquaintance of mine required microsurgery to repair his hands after breaking up a fight between two Cocker Spaniels. The best set of teeth I've EVER seen on a dog belong to a Skye Terrier. Not a large breed in height but they sure make up for it in jaw strength and tenacity. A hell of a package in a dog that looks like a cuddly toy. -

I'd not be relying on a dog for my safety. Good locks and sensor lights are probably better. Statistically you're in greater danger from harm from people you know than from strangers. I bet you feel better about being home alone now!! -
Dog Making Choking Noises
poodlefan replied to chuckandsteve's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
Sounds like an elongated soft palate to me. That's what causes 'reverse sneezing'. Stroking the throat or opening the mouth can usually fix it. -
Oops. Wrong thread.

You haven't lived until you picked up sparkly poo!
-
I'd get someone else to feed him his meal during the day. If you're the person feeding the other meals, training him with treats and playing with him, bonding with you shouldn't be an issue. After all, if you have to go away, someone else will have to feed him.
-
Pups end up with amazing rubbish in their poo.. anything white in the house with tooth marks? I wouldn't be reworming until he is due. Its hard on the gut that stuff.
-
Well, you could start switching him to a better quality kibble by mixing it in. Advance is another one a lot of folk like - they do a puppy. You won't find any of these in the supermarket. You'll need to go to a Petbarn or similar. If the runs continue though, get a fecal sample checked. A pup with the runs is not digesting properly and may miss out on important nutrients.
-
Has your pup been wormed? Has he had a vet checkup? Pups can pick up bacterial infections like coccodia that can give them the runs. Most folk around here seem to like Artemis, Royal Canin or Eaglepack in the premium kibbles. The canned food is mostly water which might be keeping him loose. But I'd be starting with a vet trip.

What did I read in a book on the weekend: Obedience: A dog sport founded on the proposition that any dog can be trained to behave like a Golden Retriever. -
Obedience And Training - Males Vs Females
poodlefan replied to LisaB85's topic in General Dog Discussion
I think individual temperament matters more than gender.
