  1. Does your dog have fleas or get them regularly? If not, I'd not be treating for them.
  2. She's just getting over parvo How many days out of the vets is she?
  3. You can definitely overdose with cod liver oil. Not sure about the others.
  4. yes we bought 2 frenches off them the first one which came first about 2 weeks ago i noticed was scraching her ears so took to my vet and she had an infection all fixed why isnt there vet picking these things up thats shocking thanks SwaY My guess is that the pups haven't seen a vet.
  5. Parvo outbreaks can happen to even the most fastidious breeder.. but that's not the issue. Its how you deal with these things that matters. Shipping pups that may be incubating the disease simply isn't on.
  6. Someone else joined the dots for me by looking at litters registered under that prefix. Have a read of this thread and ask for recommendations in the breed threads in that sub forum. I'd like to be able to say that buying from an ANKC registered breeder is a guarantee of quality and responsible breeding, but I can't. Rest assured that I think the days for these kind of breeders within the ANKC are numbered. Not before time. Didles go to Fair Trading... don't let them get away with ripping you off.
  7. I suggest this is a conversation you need to have with the ATO. If these people haven't declared the income from their high volume puppy breeding then a visit from the tax man is in order. I'm sure Centrelink would be interested too.
  8. I dont have a Problem with people owing game bred and DA APBT's if they have the experience and know what there doing with the dog, in the wrong hands its a different story. And its those wrong hands that see the breed in the position it is in today. Too good a dog to change? Then too good a dog to be sold to those who bring its reputation into disrepute. There have been two dog attacks on people involving APBTs reported in the US news in the last week alone. One was an attack by a dog on its owner. The hows and why's are probably unclear but the bad PR continues unabated. ;)
  9. well, i would say she is beyond the chubby side Stupid woman :D And yes one of my pet hates is seeing fat Cavaliers. There are a lot of fat pets out there I have a few that I diet when they come to stay. Fat dogs in a breed with heart issues - ridiculous. :D
  10. I'm sorry its not better news CW. ;) Choose your next pup very carefully...I'd be sticking to small breeds. If you've thought of a breed, let DOLers recommend a responsible breeder to you. Given the care and devotion you've displayed for Charlie, I think any breeder would be delighted to sell you a pup.
  11. Yes, I'd not be feeding milk. Are you feeding I/D cans or kibble? I'd not be changing from I/D at all unless your vet agrees. The only other option is to cook chicken and rice for her yourself. If she's hungry she'll eat. Don't start making a fuss about trying to tempt her.. its a rod for your back in the long run.
  12. This pansy rings around caravan parks - some will allow dogs in their cabins. Sadly, they tend to book out well in advance of the show. I hate camping too. ;)
  13. yes thats THEM they sent 4 british bulldogs on my flight as well so i have taken advice and have rang through to toll air express im so sorry so what are you going to do? I would start to CC Dogs NSW into all future correspondence with the breeder. I think the best method of getting some action would be to contact Vic Consumer affairs. I suggest you make all future correspondence with the breeder in writing (email is fine) and make notes of dates of any phone calls so far. I think a nice letter of demand on a solicitor's letterhead demanding the refund of all monies spent would be a good start. Simply not good enough on the breeders part. Shipping pups from a kennel with a known parvo affected pup is reprehensible conduct IMO.
  14. Good on him for raising awareness of this disgusting practice. ;)
  15. Could be a urinary tract infection or hormonal incontinence too.
  16. In that news article: ABC: So maybe they should step up and take responsiblity for their dog's safety. This dog entered the neighbouring property. Your dog, your responsiblity to contain it, REGARDLESS OF ITS SIZE.
  17. Hi thanks very much i spoke to the breeder sunday to inform them and they were going to chat between them selfs by monday all phones are on answer machine and all there ads on dogsonline have gone im so worried i have named her lucky in sum hope shes a french bulldog at i think eight and half weeks Did you get any sort of health guarantee with the pup Beladoza? I hope she pulls through.
  18. S&G are a medical litigation firm. If they can get up to speed on alleged animal abuse cases the RSPCA could end up being bankrupted S&G do a wider range of work than that.. show them a deep pocketed target for litigation and they'll be there with bells on. ;)
  19. Have you contacted the breeder? You may not need the law if they do the right thing by you and the pup. If you are in Victoria, it is Victorian consumer law you need to work with.
  20. Yep. 4 Legs is my stand by too, Not raw but not bad.
  21. Fingers crossed it's a false alarm. Snakes can bite without injecting venom. Hopefully that's the case here.
  22. How would water make kibble easier to digest?
  23. Yes, they do. But I do suggest you familiarise yourself with the forum rules.
