  1. If she'd had something really bad happen, my guess is she'd be like me and staying well clear of public offleash areas. Many of the people posting here don't use them because they can't rely on other users to control their dogs. Right now, in allowing your dog to rush up to others, you'd be one of the people quite a few of us would be keen to avoid seeing in an off leash area.
  2. After the first time you see your dog in another dog's jaws, you might be be surprised what you're capable of. Show some consideration for other park users and don't assume they're there to have their dogs socialise with yours. That goes double for small dogs. Labradors are notorious for not respecting other dogs personal space by the way.
  3. Or, as has happened to me, my dog tells the other dog to back off and gets attacked.
  4. This in itself can be considered an offence. If any dog runs up fast to me or my dogs it gets my boot in it's face. Even in an offlead dog park..? You think dog attacks don't happen in offleash parks?
  5. A dog rushing up to mine with its hackles raised would certainly not be a welcome sight. Why don't you teach her to come when she's called and ask permission before allowing her to approach other dogs. What she wants to do shouldn't be the test of what she gets to do. Sure beats her getting a boot or reported. While your girl may enjoy the interaction with other dogs, the other dogs may not. In dog terms, what she's doing is extremely rude. Imagine a dog 6 times the size of your Labrador rushing up to her and "just wanting to sniff". Your dog didn't give her time to respond "nicely". Had that been me, you'd have been told to call your effing dog NOW! If that didn't work, I'd have been yelling at your dog to bugger off. People who are worried for their dog's safety don't tend to be focussing on social niceities. Channel that anger into some recall training.
  6. Sure do. Do you want them bobtailed or not? Bobtail please, see example below. Also, can you make sure the pups are desensitized to gunfire? The Army tested my existing Blue Steeler and were poised to take him for bomb detection induction training but he spooked in the firearms test. Besides I think I could have a market for the pups with local pig hunters and they also have guns. I am happy to place an order by credit card, but can you advise whether you also have Red Steelers and if they are cheaper because they are not the rarer blue colour? Ta QS from TI As we don't bother with that ridiculous Baer testing, there's every chance that gunfire won't be a problem. :D
  7. Second statement removes any issues with the first. :D
  8. About a dozen of these should make a good team MM
  9. Yeech Dobesrock.. I've just spent the last three months on developing the Giant White Dobermann.. sure you don't want one of these? Seem to recall you wanted a brindle dobe too? Did these in Giant as well. :D
  10. Giant Sharpei - just the ticket. AND they come in blue! This one won't run around the apartment too much. $120 should cover postage and we do interest free terms. :D
  11. Never too late to get a pup from Deshonko. All our Ponds Institute health certified pups are such a great bargain there's no need to discount! :D AND of course Deshonko are big supporters of rescue work. We take on plenty of undesexed dogs and provide them with homes here. Have had quite a demand for these lately.. Feral Spitz pups.
  12. Only two things matter as far as I'm concerned: experience results in the particular field I'm looking for help in. I'm looking for results in training HANDLERS, not with their own dogs.
  13. Looks about as much like a Maremma as Howard does.
  14. Judging by some of the dogs I've seen whose owners clip them only in summer, most would probably be just as comfortable if they were THINNER. Clipping a short coated dog like a Lab sounds like a recipe for sunburn to me.
  15. With some whelpings you'd have time to watch it a few times!
  16. And lets not forget the supplies needed to celebrate a successful whelping:
  17. It should all be part of the "Whelping Supplies Breeder Support Package" The Premium package could have these also: And of course the Whelping Supplies Flying Vet on call
  18. When do I need to start being niceĀ® to you?
  19. How do you get a case if the vet board turns a blind eye? You get a solicitor to file a claim in Court. You asked for recommendations for one in your last thread. Honestly though, some grief counselling might be a better use of your money.
  20. Thanks - that's who I was trying to think of.
