  1. She has bought up water twice more but nothing for the lat couple of hours as she has been curled up with me on the lounge.. Her belly is making lots of gurgling noises but I guess that is normal if it is empty and she is feeling unwell.. I don't want to take it off her cause I don't want her to dehydrate... She seems fine in herself and she wanted some dinner but i didn't give her any.. If she is not sick for the rest of the night, I might try a little bit of chicken in the morning...
  2. No she didn't leave a number and when she called my mobile the number was blocked, so I couldn't save it
  3. I am just watching her but here is what happened. We took Pippa for a car ride to meet a prospective new family (whole other story). It was only about 25 minutes each way. She was sick on the way home and bought up all her breakfast in the car. I got her home and she went straight for the water and has since bought up water 3 times in the last hour.. I think it is probably just car sickness but I am still worried about the poor baby (she is 6 months old)... I won't give her any dinner and see how she goes until morning. If she is still sick I will take her to see the vet... Should I limit her water? I don't want her to dehydrate.
  4. How odd.. I get tho the address in Kambah and to be honest, I really didn't like the look of the place.. I left Pip in the car and went to knock on the door. No one home... Upon looking over the fence, the neighbor sees me and says there is no one there and he hasnr seen anyone there for a few weeks... Why would someone arrange a meeting at a house that has no one living at it? If anyone wants the details of this person looking for a dog, let me know and i will PM it.. I think it is all a bit suss...
  5. Staffyluv, what techniques did the trainer give you for his recall? Sorry just saw this. Basically I keep treats on me all the time and whenever I call him he is rewarded. We also get my son involved and we call him and treat him between us.. So he always thinks pine is getting something when he is called to come.. It started with me just calling him over and as I treated him, I said come.. Then when he was outside, I would call him with Ziggy come and herons like a loon to get to me with the treat... His distraction is to high at the dog park, so we have not been back again yet but I can get him to come even if he is playing or digging (all the fun stuff)
  6. I know, sometimes I just gaze at mine and think, you magnificent beast. Oh, I am so glad I am not the only loon around... I was showing my boys yesterday and talking the camera up and showing them all the practice shots I have been doing.. I just love it and it makes me look like I am actually talented. I have just signed up with a Flickr account and I am going to find my copy of photoshop that I bought about 2 years ago and load it on the new laptop... It is all so very exciting...
  7. Pippa is off to meet a prospective new family today. They have 3 kids and a 2 year old male staffy... I am always so conflicted when I take my fosters to meet families... I want her to have a forever home but I don't want her to leave... Pippy and Ziggy get on so well and she just adores him... I am sure she will adore any other dog that comes into her life, she is very friendly... Wish us luck...
  8. I have always taken a step forward and growled NO... Very firm and quite loud.. So far, so good..
  9. Oh that is sad news, I'm so very sorry... RIP Montana, run free at the bridge...
  10. I have been playing with the 7d heaps... I have so much to learn still but I am totally in awe of this camera.. It takes awesome pics, even when I think they are going to be crap.. I found the 400d a bit slow.. I know I could have just bought better lenses but the splurge was totally worth it. Sadly I have I discovered in the move back to Canberra my big camera bag (with my speed light, small tripod and some other stuff) didn't quite make it back... At all.. It is nowhere to be found and it totally slipped my mind with all the goings on here the last 6 months... But I but I turned this place upside down and it is just to here... So now I will be up for another speed light, tripod, remote and some other bits and bobs.... I am so glad that I always choose to carry the camera and lenses with me in my smaller case...
  11. There are a lot of prescription drugs that have a human equivalent. Ollie had 3 scripts that the vet wrote for us and we used to get filled at the chemist... The chemist was a fair bit cheaper as they have bigger buying power than a vet..
  12. That is awesome.. Mine was in stock, so hopefully will be shipped straight away.. I wonder how long it takes to get from there to here? I am going up north to the beach for a week in the second week of May, so hoping it is here by then to carry my brand new 7D... I have wanted one for ages and got a big return on the sale of a few items so splurged on that... I have been playing with it all afternoon... I think I will keep my 400D still...
  13. Here it is - I can't wait until it arrives..
  14. What great photos. That would be a great way to shoot rescue dogs as people would gt a better idea of their real size...
  15. Wow, what rock have I been hiding under and how did I miss this thread... I just spent ages on Robyn's Etsy shop and bought a bag that was already in stock.. I will have to post a pick tomorrow as I am on the iPad... It is tan with denim down the front. I can't wait until it arrives.
  16. Oh wow, I am lost for words on this one... I would have literally been rolling on the floor laughing and speechless...
  17. Thanks everyone.. I think she is pretty special...
  18. Ollie has been gone since October last year and I am only now just 'hearing or seeing' things... Who knows if it is or isn't - probably wishful thinking on our parts really but it is still comforting. Maybe your pain is just to raw still to 'feel' them around...
  19. with foster baby Pippa (who is only 6 months old)...
  20. All grown up, well nearly.. Ziggy was 1 year old on 31st March and these were taken a couple of weeks ago...
  21. Pippa is about 6 months old now and stands over Ziggy heaps... She is such a pretty girl...
  22. I was in the dining room last week and heard a noise at the front door - I thought I saw Ziggy (new dog, who is the same size and colour as our old boy, Ollie) go to the front door but when I got up I realised he was was out the back.. I was sure I saw a dark dog go to the front door - I wonder if it was Ollie, hanging around??? Ziggy sits in front of the cabinet that holds my husband and Ollie's ashes.. He just sits and stares at it..
  23. Just checking on how the big guy is doing... Very happy to hear he is in such good spirits and feeling so well.. Most dogs breeze through chemo. I know Ollie did, he only had a few flat days and from memory, only caught a bug a couple of times... Lots of people said I shouldn't be taking him out to parks and stuff but you just don't know how long they have and to me making every day count was more important than the chance he was going to catch a bug from a compromised immune system.. Good luck DR, you and Bison are going great guns...
