Please do not wait - if you have not already taken the pup to the vet do as soon as possible. They dehydrate very quicklyin warn weather, especially if they are unwell. It is much better to be safe with pups. I am no expert but I do believe that a pup can still pick up parvo even if it has had its shots... Good luck Jodie

I ma always interested in anything about dog agression as my stafford was (appears OK at the moment) being agressive after he was attacked by another stafford in January this year. I used to give my stafford smoked roo tail - but one day I had to put my fingers down his throat to pull out a sharp one as he was gagging on it and looked like he was having trouble getting it out himself. So no more smoked bones in this house. He is a bit on the fussy side (because he is well fed) and tends to turn his nose up a raw bones of any description so now it he is supervised with raw hide and he has dentabones... Jodie

I am no trainer, but there is no way I would act defensively in front of my dog (stafford). From what I have read on this site and in my opinion that would let the animal think it is above you in the pack order. You could tell the pup no and walk away if play escalates to this again. There are a lot of people here that can give you advice on what to do if this happens again. Jodie

Apologies for hijacking this topic... A quick question...what type of yoghurt does everyone use? I have a staffy and although he loves his veges, fruit & meat, he will only eat the flavoured yoghurts - will not even look at plain... Any suggestions? Jodie

My staffy (Ollie) loves to get under the hose in summer and he has a bath each week/fortnight which he loves..When we take him to the park he walks around in the water (neck deep) - I do not think he is too sure of himself in water like this, because he will not go any further than where he can touch...He looks back at us as if to say - is this OK? My sister's two staffys, well that is another story. Her male (sadly passed away from snake bite) used to swim like crazy - he would make waves, but no splashing and because her female is the dominant dog she would go in after him and splash around - funny to watch...She now has another male staffy and he is a swimmer as well...She also has a mastiff x sharpei and he is such a big dog, but acts like the baby of the family and just sits on the sand and watches the others, if the waves come to close he runs further up the beach...
