  1. That is wonderful news... I have just read the whole thread and only at the end did I realise I had hardly taken a breath... Isn't it wonderful to know that there are so many people that feel the same way about their animals as we do... May you enjoy many more happy and healthy years with your little hero... Cheers Jodie
  2. Once caught the staffy with the remains of a halloween haul the kids got heaps of stuff... He was very hyper for an hour or so but apart from that he was fine... He had technicolour poo the next day with all the lovely coloured lolly and choc wrappers... Jodie
  3. Prednil is what the vet gives me to keep at home in case Ollie is stung by a bee... He is allergic and the reaction nearly killed him the first time as we did not realise he was allergic... We have to give him 2 tablets and get to the vet ASAP in case he needs adrenalin as well... Hope your little one is feeling better, I thought if they were on this medication that they needed to be taken off it slowly... Jodie
  4. Still got my fingers crossed... Jodie
  5. OMG Fido, Now we will only think positive thoughts, and all fingers and paws will be crossed... I will keep her in my prayers for you... Keep us all informed... My thoughts are with you, Jodie
  6. Fido, The poor little darling, I do hope she is OK... Please keep us all posted... Good luck Jodie
  7. Sounds like she has injested something that has not passed through... I would suggest a trip back to the vet and voice your concerns - hopefully an x-ray or other tests will show what is wrong... Poor girl, a week is a long time for a dog not to feel well... Good luck Jodie

  9. Great news, here is to many more good weeks... Cheers Jodie and Ollie
  10. I know people that used the citronella collar on a malt X and it used to make her vomit... I know that you probably need constructive advice, but is it not possible to find another means of teaching her a shhh command or it is time to be quiet - I am sure that there are trainers out there that have great success with this as it is a common problem... Sorry do not know anything about the electric collars - but from a personal point of view - I do not really like the sound of it... Good luck Jodie
  11. How is the girl today? Hope she is still feeling spritely... Cheers Jodie
  12. Swollen head and hives is how I know that Ollie has been stung by a bee... Once the hives are up, we have 10-20 minutes to get him to the vet as he is allergic to bees and anaphylactic (spelling??) shock... We nearly lost him the first time... I suppose if your vet is not concerned, maybe it is OK... But I would be wanting an explanation if it were my dog. I am glad she is feeling better... Cheers Jodie
  13. My eyes fill up every time I see a post here for Brax (and I did not even know him)... He was such a handsome boy... A much loved boy, who will be waiting patiently at the bridge for the rest of his family... Jodie
  14. A beautiful golden oldie... RIP Mr Troy So sorry for your loss... Jodie
  15. That is wonderful news Paula... Cheers Jodie
  16. When we had to take our first staffy for his needles we went to a vet here in town and I was not happy with the way he handled him... The vet was rough and basically pushed and shoved the puppy around... So we found the vet we go to now and have done for 10 years. The practice has been sold once since we started taking the Ollie there, but Scott (old vet) assured me that Hamish (new vet) was nearly as good as him and not to worry... I must say that we are very happy with the service that Hamish and his team provide... Jodie
  17. Oh Paula, I am so sorry to hear your cat is ill... I cannot offer advice as I have not been in your position, but please know that we are all here for you to talk to, should you need it... Please know that you are in our thoughts Jodie and Ollie
