  1. Buggar Griffy - so sorry for your loss.. RIP Bronson Jodie and Ollie dog
  2. Blood work is in No major changes since last time just an elevated creatinine level - that the vet thinks may be due to some tumours in his kidneys. He also thinks that Ollie is have a lot of histamine releases that is why he is vomiting so much more. We are taking him off the zantac and changing him to maxor (Omprazole), another gastro type drug that should settle his tummy down a bit. We knew this was going to happen - that he would need stronger and stronger drugs to fight the symptoms of what is going on. I give him jalna yoghurt every day to help his tummy as well as try to keep his food as plain as possible (usually just chicken and veges now)... He might get red meat once a month these days if he is lucky. He is pretty well and always puts on a show when visitors come around - most people do not even realise he is sick. Funny thing is, as soon as everyone leaves he usually goes to sleep because he is so worn out from socialising... I don't have any new pics on the PC at the moment - I will have to take some more... Here is an oldie though...
  3. How terribly sad to lose a much loved family member in such a traumatic way... RIP Jakey... Jodie
  4. RIP Jessie girl... Jess was a beautiful ACD - she was 11 years old and was given her wings by those who love her this morning... Jess was not well this last couple of weeks. Losing a lot of weight, not eating and appearing as a lost soul... She was diagnosed with advanced cancer on Tuesday morning. Her mum took her home to love her for just a while longer and to say goodbye... Goodbye angel... To know her was to love her Jodie
  5. We had a visit to the vet today because he is a little unwell - nothing too serious... Just regurgitating a lot of the time and I thought that maybe the meds needed to be updated... We have to wait for the full blood work to come back - we also had another buffy coat test to see if there are any active Mast Cells in his blood (fingers crossed it comes back no, that means he is still in remission)... The vet did point out that he is losing condition - he is more hollow around his eyes and his forehead is thinner. He is also losing weight (which, if you know him - really is not a bad thing)... I already knew this, I have been watching it happen for a while but chose to ignore it - he is still the most handsome staffy I know He loves going up there - gets heaps of treats and cuddles from everyone... Will update when we have some results... Cheers Jodie and Ollie dog EFS
  6. RIP sweet boy... So sorry for your loss Jodie
  7. Peibe, you gave them the gift of love - what more does a pooch need or want... I am so sorry... RIP girls... Jodie
  8. We went to the vet for a visit yesterday and they were so happy to see him. He was all wiggly and saying hello to all the staff... The other people waiting did not know what was going on - he walked in and goes around the back of the reception desk and sits with the girls, then two of the vets come out and stop and say hi... We only went in to say hi because it has been so long since he has been and they called last week to see how he was going... We are really enjoying ourselves at the moment and he looks fantastic... Cheers Jodie and Ollie dog
  9. How is Jack this morning? Hope he is feeling better... Mooper, if he ever has to be knocked out again for anything, ask for the more expensive anaesthetic... It sounds like he had the cheaper one... When I say more expensive - it really isn't, there is only about a $20 difference and they do not wake up anywhere near as groggy... The cheaper one used to knock Ollie around heaps... When he started having the better one, he used to just wake up and he was fine - never sick or sad looking... Cheers Jodie
  10. So sorry for your loss... RIP Eugene... Jodie
  11. Give the big fluffy boy a cuddle - I just found this Mooper... Glad to hear he is feeling a bit better, poor baby... Jodie
  12. I am so sorry for your loss... RIP sweet girl... Jodie
  13. Warls, I just saw this - I am so sorry... RIP little Lion Heart... Jodie
  14. I agree Mooper, I have jinxed him so many times, I have decided to let the emoticons speak for us... J
  15. I have had a couple of messages asking how the lad is doing, so I thought I would post a quick update... Cheers Jodie
  16. Thanks Harminee... We do what we do because we love him... There are many ups and downs - but many more ups than downs, although it does not seem like it sometimes... He is recovering well this time. Seems to be bouncing back quickly... He has more small tumour type lumps but that is to be expected, unfortunately... Cheers Jodie
  17. So sorry you had to lose Daisy... RIP sweet girl, I am sure all the pooches at Rainbow Bridge will welcome her and look after her... Jodie
  18. So sorry for your loss Casper... RIP sweet Rosie :D Jodie
  19. Oh Warley, how lovely... I did not even realise it was all happening at your place already - I thought there was more time before the newbies arrives... Can't wait to see the pics... We went for a short walk this morning. He is a bit slow, still has a bit of a temp and is very picky about food (which is really unlike him) but he wanted to go, so off we went. All the flowers are coming out in the park and the morning was just perfect - just him and I walking along enjoying spring.. He did spot one magpie and had a half hearted jump at it - so he still has plenty of spark... Cheers all and thanks for the well wishes Jodie and Ollie dog
  20. It appears as though I have jinxed my boy once again... He some sort of gut bug and is back on antibiotics - two lots this time... Our vet seems to think that it is the stomach bug/ulcer/tumour that will eventually take him from us... He did not indicate any time frames, thank the lord - I just don't think I could handle knowing that I might only have my lad for six months... I would rather not know... It is funny, when we first found out he had cancer - I wanted to know how long it would be before this dreaded disease takes my angel - now I just treasure every day that he is here and well... And we deal with the other days as best we can... Thanks all Jodie
  21. Just a quick update because a few people have asked how the boofer is... He had a bit of vomiting yesterday but I kept him off food and only gave him some gastrolyte and he seems fine today... He was jumping on his dad and fighting with the boys last night so he is as fit as a fiddle at the moment... Cheers Jodie and Ollie dog A pic of the snoozy bug
  22. So sorry for your loss... RIP sweet girl
  23. All is well in the Ollie dog house We have noticed a few more lumpy bits but I think this is histamine related... He is still enjoying his walks and conning everyone for food, pats and cuddles... He is getting quite fat - but he is here for a good time now, so he can pretty much have what he wants... Cheers Jodie and Ollie dog
  24. They won't starve themselves... My lad had to change (because of a medical condition) from all meat and veges to half specialised kibble and half meat and veges(actually about 90% of it is veges)... He had never eaten kibble in his life and when it was first put down, he would leave it... It took nearly a week before he was so hungry that he just ate it and has been eating it ever since... Good luck, sounds like you have a stubborn pooch - but he will learn that you are the boss if you stick with it... Cheers Jodie
  25. RIP sweet Cindy So sorry for your loss Rusky Jodie
