Bendigo Man Threatens To Kill Pet Cats If They Wander Into His Yard
Staffyluv replied to Peace_Of_Mind's topic in In The News
No one wants to see any animal killed or hurt but as owners of companion animals it is our responsibility (when we get them) to make sure they are safe and do not interfere with others lives... I trapped a couple here and took them to the pound because I was sick of them spraying all over my deck garden. Yes I felt bad for taking them to the pound but I hope their owners were responsible enough to collect them and learn from the experience - I would do it again... My dogs don't interfere with others and I don't appreciate others animals here on my property either. -
Bendigo Man Threatens To Kill Pet Cats If They Wander Into His Yard

So that make is alright does it, to let your dogs kill another living creature which poses no threat to them? What a charmer. Isn't that what your wandering cat would do to the local wildlife??? ETA at least these dogs are contained on their own property... -

Looking forward to the doggie park tomorrow, I hope the rain stays away... 10am at Weston park, yarralumla if anyone else is interested... -
He usually has frozen chock wings and brisket bones but I could not get brisket bones so picked up the small marrow bone... I will remember that and won't buy them again.. Thanks Pers.

I think I recall something about raw bones causing it but I wanted to make sure... Today on our morning walk, Ziggy did 3 small poos and they were white. He had a big marrow bone yesterday. I checked when I got home this morning and he has eaten nearly all of it... Can someone put my mind at peace please... The white poo is just from the raw bones? TIA

Yes that seems to be a good place to take them.. See you there :D -
I am sorry to hear of your loss, it is so very hard to say goodbye... Ollie dog passed away in my arms on October 25th, 2011... Just 23 days after my husband passed away.. There are good days and there are not so good days... But there is never a day or an hour that I don't think of them and miss them... I know time will make it easier

She left today at lunch time and we miss her already... I hope she is happy in her new home but I would to be disappointed if she came back. -
They have a crate each and a really comfortable Rogz bed but seem to prefer the queen sized four poster bed in my room...

I had a friend over yesterday and while she was here she has fallen in love with Coco.. She had a chat to her husband and they bought the kids over to meet Coco... So on Monday our lovely little rescue girl is off to her forever home... She did not even make it to the ARF website... I am going to miss her heaps, she so could have been a keeper.... -
I bought dog mesh (it is tougher than just normal wire mesh) from magnet mart and cable ties. Put the mesh around and joine the twomsidesmtogether with cable ties... Dog proof..

Aren't they funny how they get stuck in their little ways. I love that Zig is such a cruisey guy... I have noticed how much Coco has settled once she realised he shares everything (even his food and treats).. She is not as possessive with food now - still working on the toys but she is getting better. -

She is definitely worthy of a foster failure but if that happens I can't rescue again... I am very lucky with Ziggy being such a playful and submissive boy, he would accept any dog here.. Which makes rescuing and fostering easier... -
Cuteness overload... They all look amazing.. There are some great shots of the bubbas

She is starting to settle... We had a few issues with her guarding food and toys but she is starting to realise there is plenty of food and sharing toys is more fun than playing on your own... She is a real sweetheart.. A typical staffy snuggle bum who loves her humans and has become very fond of our staffy cross, Ziggy. She actually seeks him out now, to see where he is and what he is doing. They play in typical staffy fashion... If you did not know better you would think their play had escalated into something scary.. She makes the funniest noise when she is playing... If you have ever seen the Predator movies, she sounds exactly like the alien Predator... So. iChat so that my son has nicknamed her Preddy... She sleeps up on my bed with me and Ziggy now.. And she has discovered a special place in my office where she likes to lay when I am working... Right under my desk... -

Is anyone up for another trip to Weston Park? Zig had so much fun last time that I would like to make this a regular event for him... I can bring Miss Coco as well but she can stay on lead until I know what she is like but so far she seems good with other dogs... -
Experiment: Do Australian Dogs Recognize A Coyote?
Staffyluv replied to sandgrubber's topic in General Dog Discussion
I have a foster girl here (18-24 month old stafford) and she was none to interested in the sounds. My 10 month old male staffy cross however was totally interested - checking out the laptop, tipping his head from side to side and walking around the laptop to see where the sound was coming from. When his interest peaked, she became more interested and went to look out the door and then the window to see where the noise was coming from. The boy just hung out at the laptop listening and seemed happy for the noises to continue.. She became a bit agitated, so I turned them off... On the other hand, he loves to sit and watch the TV when it is on, especially any show with a dog in it - like Dog Whisperer or the Animal cop shows... -
Like all food you get what you pay for... Pet mince is crap in my opinion and I wouldn't use it at all.. Get a good quality low fat kibble and add some sardines in the morning a couple of times a week. Give raw bones with kibble for dinner... If you need to lower the caloriesnofnyour dogs remove some kibble and add some grated carrot... It really isn't rocket science... I use Nutro as a kibble and they have sardines twice a week, cottage cheese and or an egg a couple of times a week and plenty of raw bones... Marrow bones, brisket bones and chicken wings or carcasses. One night a week they get canned tuna with their kibble.. If I do a fair bit of training and they get some treats or I use some of their kibble to train with I just cut back on what they get of a night...

Ziggy has had 2 of them and eaten the handle off both of them.. But they still bounce OK, even with a hole eaten into the top of it. We got them from petstock out at Fyshwick.

She is divine but sadly today has shown a few issues with my boy. He just won't leave her be and she really needs to rest as she was only desexed a few days ago... My boy seems to adore her and he keeps coming back to see where she is but I think he is annoying her. She is such a sweetie and so deserving of a forever home...
-
OK, I have put her in the photo thread and the stafford breed thread and now I am introducing her in rescue. Coco with my boy Ziggy... She is about 18 months to 2 years old and as been bred a couple of times. She is now desexed so won't ever have to do that again... Ms Coco Chanel (or Coco Loco, most of the time)...

Here is the lovely but very full on Ms Coco... She is 8 months to 2 years old and has had a couple of litters of pups... Poor baby looks like they have bred her at every opportunity... But she is now safe and there will be no more puppies for her.
