That's an awful experience to have to go through. I've had a similar experience with a Lab - jumped into our yard while my sisters and I were playing when we were still in early primary school, it bit me on the arm and then turned on my sister and pinned her on the ground and bit her multiple times - this dog was not provoked in any way - it was just roaming the streets owned by a moron. Do I like Labs - No. Do I think they should be banned or restricted - No. However, the more and more I read what people in here are saying I do think there should be some form of compulsory education for all new dog owners, regardless of breed.
-
How do you do that? yes, clearly it would more effective, but who makes that call on the wrong or right person to own a dog ? To become a registered breeder now you have to do a Open book exam - maybe a similar test be introduced for potential dog buyers and additional, no open book, component for those wanting to purchase a more powerful breed of dog or dogs with a higher rate of incidents.

I was under the impression the dog in question was a dog of mixed breeding. Same here! Initally it was reported as a PB but then it turned into a xbred. I don't think Matthew B can lie straight in bed or get their story straight - seems to keep changing to suit their style.

For the love of God - STOP. You have made your point - all bullbreeds are evil blah blah blah. Death to them all blah blah blah. Point taken. Stop repeating yourself, it's getting old. At little OT but you have mentioned the only breed of dog I've ever been bitten by and it ain't no bullbreed Do I think this particular breed should be exterminated - NO. Should the owners be punished for not containing their dogs adequately - YES.

What a tragic experience for all of the family involved to have to experience We have a 3yr old daughter and I can't imagine how heartbroken I'd be if we lost her.

Does anyone know the breed number breakdown yet?!?! -
I must confess that I have a different lead to match each of my suits IMO - if you're just starting out and don't want to spend a bomb on products while you're testing the waters my suggestions: * Human Mousse * Human Hairspray * Potato flour all of the above can be brought the supermarket. I'd also get PP Wonder wash for any show day mud play situations! Brush wise I looove my Mason Pearson brush and also have a comb (no idea what brand) and a small slicker brush. Love most of the CC shampoo's and conditioners - get mine from Petnetwork - the ladies are lovely For washing whites I use a horse shampoo - I think it's called Alto White???? Suit wise I buy most of mine from Ebay in USA - can get ome lovely suits for more than 1/2 the price they sell them for here :-)

What Do You Store All Your Dog Food In?
Silvawilow replied to Aztec Gold's topic in General Dog Discussion
We use a bright pink one - got it from Bunnings. We also use the special storage container that you get from Petstock (bloody rip off at $50 IMO). Both do the same job well! -
Excellent suggestion - IMO Victoria is very poor at offering double shows (i.e. 2 shows in one day) - NSW and SA seem to get a lot more of them!

That's to bad they've moved it to Bulla - now it's 2hrs away not one

What difference does that make?

I love the online catalogues and as someone's already said the agility trials have been using them for years! I don't mind paying a smaller fee for an o/line cat either although I do wonder how it would be policed who downloads the catalogue if a fee was charged? What would stop freeloaders from downloading it?

Any Aussie Shepherd results please!

Agreed except if the wayward gazebo was not pegged down adequately - still can't get over some people who just set them up - no pegs no ropes.
-
Agree with Showdog a friend who I show with sometimes has one and it's a bugger to put up - especially if you leave it overnight - dew and ice can make it almost impossible to put up whereas my Oztrail which was next to it I put up by myself. And if you get you fingers caught in the pins = very painfull

Said so much better than how I said it!

I've had one bitch fight where the aggressor never let out a sound - way more scary and intent when it's a stealth attack. By your description sounds like it was lucky no more damage was done IMO.

I agree, it's a lucky dip but I've found on average Jetpets is usually $50-$100 cheaper than Dogtainers. Was majorly peeved when my friend called and got a quote to fly a dog to Perth and she got a price of $275 but when I'd called earlier that week I'd been quoted $350
