Our litter of Aussie Shepherds arrived safely yesterday. We have 5 black tri’s and 3 blue merles. 4 dogs and 4 bitches – I think, LOL – a bit tired and combined with human pregnant brain.

Is this show indoors?

People who think it's 100m sprint & race around the ring at breakneck speed and those who run with the grace of a baby elephant thudding like Hephalump. No coffee van!

Is this suit still available? If so can I please buy it.

Would You Sell A Pup To A Fifo Worker?
Silvawilow replied to Cheyd's topic in General Dog Discussion
Well said It's a hard one and I think for me it would have to be on a individual basis - is some who's a FIFO worker (usually financially stable) worse than someone who's unemployed and less likely to be able to afford vet emergency situation i.e. cancer treatment when the dog's older? On the flip side the umemployed person is more liekly to be there for the dog 24/7 whereas the FIFO will be away more often. -
First time posting in this "Litters Due" threads for us! Ultrasound confirmed we have our first litter of Australian Shepherds due around 18th June :D

Silvawilow replied to SwaY's topic in General Dog Discussion
I think it's a fantastic idea but if you Melbournians aren't getting home till 1am that would make my ETA for home after 4am Hopefully they can do some at Bulla as I'd be happy to bring a Grp 5 dog along :-) -
Bond Could Ensure More Dogs Get To Live Another Day
Silvawilow replied to Panto's topic in In The News
But when you move into a premises you pay a bond to cover any damages. It doesn't matter if the damages are caused by a person, a pet, a kid, a ghost, or whatever, the bond is paid for that reason. A pet bond is just double dipping on the money they can take from you, in my opinion. As a LL I too love the idea of a "pet bond"! If a tenant damages a property, is behind in rent and damage is done by an animal then it's unlikely bond will even go close to covering the loss incurred by the Landlord :-( -

A bit late in replying! I have a pet Aussie with a lot of white on him - a merle x merle breeding - and he has a lot of skin allergies, especially in the Summer months - usually bridge of nose and hock area affected. I have found that since we moved almost 2 years ago it is not as bad and I think it's due to the native grass that's the lawn on our property - very vivid green color, tear drop shape and doesn't need to be mowned often.

Favourite Breeds: * Aussie Shepherd * Shiba Inu * Akita Least favourite * Terrier Group - personality clash! * Labs - only breed I've been bitten by :-(

Hope your lead turns up soon. The only positive if someone did steal it is that it's unique and someone might notice if that individual uses it down the track.

Kids Creche At Shows To Help Boost Entry Numbers
Silvawilow replied to just1more's topic in General Dog Discussion
Apologies! How fantastic for those parents - not everyone has the luxury of showing with a support network who can help keep an eye on the children when they're in the ring. Personally it's a logistical nighmare for me as I quiet often show by myself as my close and trusted friends are in other States so I just plan my shows at venues close to Grandparents who love to have our 3yr old for the weekend! -

I never said it should be up to the committee - I suggested a sub-contractor/private operator to offer the service to first come first served at the bigger grounds on particular days! -
Kids Creche At Shows To Help Boost Entry Numbers
Silvawilow replied to just1more's topic in General Dog Discussion
I think it's a fantastic idea although trying to organise something like this I think would be pretty hard. I think it would probably work for the two main venues in Victoria, perhaps an individual business with a licence to run the service on show days? I have a small person and I have yet to take her to a show unless I have an army of friends to help keep a eye on her while I'm in the ring as I know some people really dislike children and I can understand - those noisy, unattended, running around wildly type annoy me too but then so do dogs who bark non-stop and their owners don't tell them off! -

Well said! I don't think that's what this thread was ever about, even though a few people have mentioned it... it was about euthanising WHITE puppies. Euthanising DEAF puppies would be a different topic. Apologies Wuffles, perhaps I didn't edit the quoted post enough ;) I was applauding the comment regarding "damned if you do, damned if you don't" :) IMO if a breeder does not feel confortable with placing a WHITE puppy that could potenitally be deaf, skin issues, cancer and chooses to euthanise that puppy then that's their own choice and should not be taken away by some animal liberation types. Likewise if they choose to place the puppy and explain ALL the potential health problems then that's also their choice.

From my personal experience I think you're spot on - I have a badly mismarked Australian Shepherd who's allergic to dirt, grass, flowers, pretty much most things :-( He is worse in the warmer months. He's also stone deaf in one ear and half in the other ear
