I am sorry about your loss Choppa Chop RIP Dolce

My vets charge $75 for C5 and $54 for C3. The costs includes the vac, consult, check up, treat and a hug  My vet also offers a discount when you get more than one animal done at once and they're happy to answer any weird and wonderful questions I may have (even if that means a 45min consult) I am very happy with my vet's and it wouldn't steer me away from them if they raised their prices.

We were pretty lucky with the weather, we had a shower on Saturday and was just cold on Sunday and naturally the dogs were tucked away cozy and dry in their crates and I was shivering my my chair and 40 layers of clothing Blush was actually pretty clean at the end of it all, the ring wasn't muddy at all, just green and grassy, hense she has some grass stains on her paws. She was such a trooper but I must admit that both of us need to work on our fitness, we were both a bit huffy puffy after our runs P.S. I know she's not an Aussie but my black girl Kira gained her first Open obedience pass and came 2nd yesterday, me so happy with my pups!

Boy did we have a good weekend out at Wanagratta! I only had Blush entered in the Novice Jumping on each day (I've been a bit slack and haven't taught her the weavers yet) and we hit jackpot. On Saturday not only did we pass but we won the ring I was very proud of our slush puppy. On Sunday I was thinking, I'm not overly fussed how we go cause I was still so happy with how she went the day before. With that it mind we took to the ring and it was a very amusing run for the crowd, my firends were in tears by the end of it from laughing so much! I got lost twice and even asked the dog if she knew where to go, she stood there and looked at me with this look that said "But I thought you knew the way". Blush is also tunnel/tyre mad so I also had to make 3 catches. She had this look as if "now you've gotten lost so are you sure I shouldn't be doing this tyre?" Anyway after all that we passed and won the ring! I am so proud of Blush, she just tried so hard, even when with some pilot error

Congratulations ;) You must be so happy! We'll be at Wangaratta. My yellow girl's in Novice Obedience and my MAD black girl's in Open Obedience. Plus the agility (I need the exercise) See you there

I'm fairly new to dog training (only been doing it for about 18mths) so I'm not the most knowledgeable but I am learning! My first dog was a dream to train, catches onto everything so quickly and very forgiving of my errors ;) However when it came time to train my 2nd girl I hit a wall with the recall. My yellow is easily distracted, "would you look at those birds" "look at that nice cloud formation", etc. She was fine on lead but once you removed it, who knew. Anyway, I found that training the recall in my hallway was great. There was absolutely no distractions and nothing for her to feel the need to check out. Once she had the hallway mastered we moved into my kitchen (galley kitchen). She is very food motivated, so the kitchen was great for added distractions! She's now pretty good and I can now let her off when we go down the river and she always comes back!

OMG, you've just explained my three dogs, you must have ESP My eldest girl is the boss and then the other 2 come under her. I could watch them for hours, it's quite interesting.

Funny Stories About Trialling Or Training.
Silvawilow replied to Astro Boy 2's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
Okay time for me to share two of my most recent oops My mad black girl Kira is nuts about agility but not so nuts about obedeince. Anyway, we were in the open obedeince ring at Bendigo last year and we had managed to get passing scores on heel free, recall, SFE and DRF. I'm thinking to myself, OMG we might actually do good. Then here we are lining up to do dumbell ova the high jump. I throw and just as I sent her these awful creatures (sometimes known as teenagers) start kicking a scoccer ball right on the edge of my ring. Now I know Kira should ignore distractions but she is ball mad. Anyway, she clears the jump pick her dumbell up and continues on2 the kids with the ball. Spits her dumbell out and steals their ball, trying to entice them in2 a game. My yellow dog Narmi (who sick at the moment ) is a good little worker at obedience but is the opposite to Kiz, very laid back and calm. I have started doing basic agility training with her and when it comes to the tunnel she believes that it's better to run on top of it instead of through it -
Pulling Washing Off The Line
Silvawilow replied to Chaddy's Mummy's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
This will probably sound really bad (cause I'm not sure if it's safe but didn't want to try the bags of water stuff. my friend tried that with her visuzla who thought it was the greatest game ever invented) but I made up my own mixture of chilli's, halapenos (i know spelt wrong) i just brushed the inside of the stocking with it. He sniffed it, squinted his eyes at it and that was that. He's silly, naughty but not stupid. This bedding thing's been going on now, off and on, for a couple of months now. Just when I think he's over it the turkey pulls em out. I left the kennels without bedding a few times (me mean too) but the message isn't getting through, plus it means my 2 grils have to go cold as well. At the moment (well for last 2 weeks anyway) beddings stayed in, I've put my old car floor mats on top of the bedding in the kennel. I don't know what it is about them but it seems to be working. -
Pulling Washing Off The Line
Silvawilow replied to Chaddy's Mummy's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
Don't you just love what dogs do I had the same problem with my aussie boy. I found that hanging stockings, that were coated in some wicked hot sauce, on the line helped. I also gave him more stuff to chew on in the yard, like big frozen blocks of chicken stock (stuff I had left from my soup making attempt!) and kongs, frozen bones, etc. Either what I did worked or else he just grew out of it His latest trick is now pulling the bedding out of the kennels (even though i bolted them to the floor and the walls of the kennels) -
The ladies pretty good at returning your call. I sent a text and within 5 minutes she called me back! After Kira's shocking heeling on Saturday I was just so pumped when I saw the advert for the clinic. I know it's something I'm doing that is part of my problem, just having trouble addressing it - I thought I had it fixed cause she had been training well (she's never trained well in past) and then we go in ring at Albury and she thought that heeling 3 metres away from me was okay. My other pups work well at heeling both in practice and in the ring. She's such a turkey of a dog, very challenging. We'll get there (one day!)

Hi all, You'll need to book in fast. I called yesterday and there were only a couple of working places left. I'm only going for the obedience though and I didn't ask bout agility places.

you're a better person that me. i think i would drop dead after numming 5km now days i'll try a few places out for lunch and get back to you with the best place to eat (nothing like a food safari) if you're coming from princess park then it's easy to get to our club. just follow "the boulevard" round from princess park and then when you get to the round about turn right on2 balaclava rd and we're then on the left. -

double bugger good news is we're only about a kilometre from princess park, just follow the river. if you can't make it i'd still like to be able to catch up and meet you and show off my little naughties! I never normally get away from club until after 12noon anyway, i like to have a run through with my dogs after everyone has gone and give them a chance to run around to hopefully tired them out for the rest of the day and get rid of their silly's. -

The Victoria Lake CP is dog friendly so long as you have your own Caravan or Tent. It's a nice clean park and set up on the edge of the lake. They're in town and the lake is great for walking the dogs around, although the ducks make for great distractions If you don't have a van I'll have to ask the ladies next time I'm at Obedience -
