  1. I agree with this to a point. I find nothing more frustrating than for example when someone's who's not ready to trial enters and their dog is all over the shop and then they don't scratch from stays (which they usually tell you outside before going in that their dog ALWAYS breaks). I proof my dogs agains this but it still drives me crazy when dogs stand over them/jump on them/etc in lower level stays. Another thing with doing more harm than good is you can't correct your dog in the ring or praise it. I feel your pain regarding trial training being 2 hours from the nearest club that does trial training. My suggestion would be to attend some obedience seminars when they come. A lot of clubs host some great trainers from all over the country! Or if you're really motivated organise a seminar on behalf of your club - that's what I'm in the process of doing!
  2. The Koolie Club of Vic also runs fortnightly training - I think user RachelBuck is involved with them and may be of more help!
  3. What time does it run to? I'm staying in Mansfield on Friday night but coming back Saturday morning so may be able to make it if it's still on when I get home!
  4. Yesterday at the State Tracking Trial we had fantastic results: Narmi passed her Test 1 with a Very Good and Kira passed her Test 2 also with a Very Good. This pass gives Kiz her TD title!
  5. I was bad and left before the finals - didn't want to get stuck driving in the rain plus my hubby was home after being away for 2 weeks. For me I loved watching the pairs on Friday, some blazing runs and some very "comedy capers" runs as well! Congrats to all those who competed!
  6. Good luck to those competing - we're showing this weekend.
  7. How'd you go in the finals Jess? Any other Victorian finalists results?
  8. Thanks for the help ladies! KC, you should have seen me struggling with it one day - had a brain fart and put it up to full height and then realised I hadn't put the walls on But I was stubbon and determined not to take it down again and got em on - just took me 20 minutes that's all Good luck everyone who's going
  9. I'd be in the same situation too cause I don't have any spares. So the pee dog would lose their bed which I would give to the non pee dog. Besides, maybe your OH was thinking it would be easier to clean up on just plastic if she messed again?
  10. I've heard that the ground's awful too My kids are entered in Jumpers only and one pairs for Kiz. Hey guys, hate to ask for help but if anyone see's me there and I'm fighting with my gazebo could you please give me a quick hand to get it up - I'm stubbon and will probably end up hurting myself trying to do it alone. Coming down by myself with 2 dogs but be blowed if I'm going to sit out in the cold. Also, as I'm the only one in my gazebo if anyone needs a bit of shelter, sing out.
  11. For those in Victoria PM Pippi. We got an A-frame from her and it's great, service was good and very reasonably priced
  12. Thanks for the feedback guys! Jey - would you mind PMing me what the small kinks are, that way we can improve it!
  13. Shepparton & District Obedience Dog Club has arrived in the 21st century and we (after lots of hard work by one of our committee members!) now have a website What do you think of it? http://www.shepdogclub.com/
  14. For anyone who's going, I'm the very pregnant one with one crazy black dog and a little mismark blue merle Aussie! Hope the weather's good.
  15. Poor LP, I bet "evil" Kinta has done it on purpose just so you think about her more Staff n Toller will be running the D Train! He better be a good boy for her or else he's riding on the roof racks all the way back to Shepp!
  16. You should see the back of my car after Wangaratta after having 3 muddy dogs in it Hubby had to put something in it last night and freaked! Did some training last night with Kira and Denny. Kira was great and showing improvement, Denny, well we won't mention him being a sooky la la! Hope to see you guys there on Sunday!
  17. Just wondering how many of us are going to Hastings for their weekend agility trial? Denny will get his first run with his new handler - I just hope he's a good boy and isn't naughty!
  18. I think my next free Saturday is the 16th August and then another one on the 13th September. Haven't made any plans for after September due to our impending arrival!
  19. How come it's always on the weekends when I'm trialling Why can't it be next weekend Maybe next year I'll be able to get there!
  20. Did the dogs dig into the neighbours yard or did the neighbours little dog dig into your friends yard? Sorry pregnant brain and just need to clarify so I can get situation
  21. Is there a website that lists full results?
  22. Go for it KC! We need more agility clubs, especially in the North and the West of Melbourne. I'd be willing to travel down once a month for lessons! Could you possible combine agility with dog grooming and maybe in your big shed have a therapy pool? If you're on acrage then herding lessons could also be added to the equation? To the OP, at least you have the option of specialist agility clubs, I think our nearest one is just over 2hrs away. Do Geelong or Warringal ODC's do agility, they might be worth trying?
