  1. Just looked on Elders Weather and Seymour's weather's been revised down to 10-20mm on Sat! Better than 20-40mm anyway :-)
  2. Are you serious?????? I must have missed the part in the first post where it said the man's dog was agressive - IMO it was simply reacting to a situation where it was on lesh, unable to get away from another uncontrolled dog rushing at it. By what the OP has said in their first post they were in the wrong as they let their uncontrolled unleshed dog rush up to the dog on lesh.
  3. Is the hokey oval that it's been switched to a lot smaller than the normal oval? Bit hard to tell on Google Maps!
  4. I know agility people who've stayed at Shady Acres and they say it's a great place!
  5. Do you know which Aussie Shepherd won Grp 5 please?
  6. Love the name Giselle! Might be a bit hard rolling off the tongue in a park for a recall though, LOL.
  7. Is the schedule out for Lockhart out yet? Bummed about Finley not being on :-(
  8. Any group 5 results please?!?!
  9. Congratulations to Ana, Ben and Brock on your RUBIG
  10. Thanks. That's dissapointing if it's not going ahead :-(
  11. Does anyone know if Finley is on this year? I have not been able to find a schedule.
  12. Does anyone have Group 5 results from both days please!?!?
  13. Too bad if the cat actually had an owner (yes likely a irresponsible one for letting cat roam). How many average pet owners would think to call the adjoining muncipalities? Poor form by the woman trapping the cat IMO.
  14. I think these new rules are crazy. Pregnancy is not an illness. If your girl is happy, healthy and bright then I see no problem with showing them.
  15. I think the only one in town that accepts dogs now is the Goulburn River CP. The Seymour Motel also has decent rates.
  16. Group 5 pretty please, especially the Aussie's!
  17. How does this breed cope in a suburban yard? Up until a few motnhs ago we lived on your standard 800sq metre block and never had a problem with our Aussie not coping with suburban life. When in town he had regular walks and on the weekend's we'd go down the river or in-laws farm for a big run - although he's a velcro dog so after an initial spurt of running for about 2 minutes he'd be back at our side. How do they cope with livestock - i.e. horses? My boy is good with livestock but that's probably due to his complete lack of interest in herding. When feeding the cows at in-laws farm he looks at them but stays by our side the whole time. Are they good off leash (yes with training) All the Aussie's I've been involved with have been very good off lead, coming back the first time they're called. That is naturally after some training. Are they good with small animals like smaller dogs, cats and chickens? My cats rule the roost and all my dogs are very respectful of their "space", even my newest addition learnt within a week not to chase the cats. The only interest my boy has shown in chickens he's met is to eat their poop What are they like with other dogs? My boy generally gets along with other dogs really well but can sometimes play a bit rough for some. He is down the ladder when it comes to his order in the pack so that may also influence his interaction with others. The above is from my own experience with my own dogs!
  18. I'm a little confused, how many registeries for BC's in Australia are there? Haylz if you're just starting out I'd be going for a BC, just from my experience they're easier to re-train when you do a boo boo!
  19. Haylz have you or do you currently compete in dog sports? I have Aussie's and my other dog (first dog) Kiz is a working BC x who I got off a dairy farm. If I could turn back time I would much rather have started with in dog sports with an Aussie as just from my own experience they're more laid back whereas Kiz is like driving a high powered sports car when you've never driven a car before! If you're seriously into obedience I'd be steering more towards the Aussie cause (again from own experience) they're more egar to please and don't deviate from the plan as much, LOL. But if agility's and herding are more what you're into then personally I'd be swaying to a BC.
  20. That's what my vet recommends - black pepper. I found it to be better than corn flour
  21. A little brag for me! My new baby Aussie Shepherd girl made her debut at Wangaratta on Saturday: first time in the ring and 2nd place in sweepstakes ;)
