Thank's for the reply puggle's. I had never heard of goose honking, but the reverse sneeze I am familiar with. Like you Pugzville my pug does it on the rare occasion, only 15 time's in 6 years roughly. But like you scared the crap out of me !!! Straight to the vet and was told the same as you, nothing to worry about. I did a heap of research after that and it is quite common even in non - brachy breed's. There are even a few thread's on DOL about it !!

If she is Phlegmy a squirt of lemon juice into her mouth may help to break it up (she wont thank you for it though), it is by no mean's a cure, but may make her a little more comfortable for the time being. Do you know why the vet wishes to wait till she is 8 month's old to check her throat ? Not the surgery, just to have a look around and see what is going on ? Goose honking ? Is this the same thing as a reverse sneeze ? or something different ?
