  1. We have Belgians, they LOVE to howl!!! Lucky we are on large acreage. They've taught the Silky's to howl as well, sounds so cute
  2. Unless they provide a better parking solution I think they will lose a few people.
  3. I've given up trying to work our girls out lately... Got girls that were always 6mths to the day not come in for 12mths, others that are coming in every 3 - 4 mths at the moment and a girl that we weaned pups off at 5 weeks and she was back in season the next week. Can only put it down to the weather and just have to keep a much closer eye on them.
  4. I think you've achieved something important. I'd still let the Qld CCC know....& you have other witnesses, too... that the site was previously using their logo. They might be interested to know how their logo can be used to give impression of registration. I hope I have! Feel for the puppy buyers that may be duped by this person. I ahve put a statement on our GSD site above our statement that we have nothing to do with the other kennel but not sure if I should name them.... My phone is on the blick at the moment - Thanks Telstra - so once it is working again I might ring the ccc and let them know, not much they can do now as the logo has gone.
  5. Just checked the site again and some small changes have been made - the CCCQ logo is now gone - obviously makes me think the pups are registered, the so called "prefix" is now gone from the bottom of the page and the font on the T & C has been slightly changed but the wording is still the same - our wording! All I can figure is that this person is a total jerk and probably a scam artist, doesn't have a brain of their own to use for their own work. Just hope the puppy buyers realise exactly what they are getting for their money, before they part with it
  6. Received an email back from "Franc" this morning. Just some of the email - "Thanks for the email, I have not copied your text in fact after receiving your email I visited your two websites for the first time. There are similarities in the T&C's however I could not find any other similarities on your mentioned websites. I am not sure when you created your websites however I have used these terms and conditions while breeding Dobermanns in Victoria since 1989. So I have no problem with you using my terms and conditions on your websites. Please feel free to bring to my attention any other content that you may think has similarities to your mentioned websites." Then processed to provide copyright laws - w#&%er!!! Have no intention of taking it further, just so frustrated that I spend alot of time trying to keep our websites current and informative that someone can just come along and copy whatever they like. The fact that they breed the same breed and are in the same general area - not like they are in another country! bothers us. We have a very good reputation for our black Shepherds and don't need a JERK like this copying our site. People surf around and it's not hard to see that statements on both sites are the same. We don't want people thinking we have anything to do with this person. I feel for the people that purchase their pups - there is nothing stated that parents are health checked or that the pups are registered. Yes there is the CCCQ symbol that people would think that pups are registered........one wonders As far as I can see this person is a scumbag that can't do anything for himself ;)
  7. Yes Jolu it is the one in "Brisbane" I googled the first line of the FAQ page and it is straight from a US German Shepherd site. Have sent them an email requesting that they take off our content, we didn't and won't give them permission to use it. Just peeved that these people can take info from others and use it as their own. How hard is it to type up your own sales agreement?????? What we have on our site is very basic so why cause themselves such drama by blatantly copying..... Maybe the website needs to be outed so everyone can see them for what they are. Have searched for the "prefix" they have on the website and nothing at all comes up. Wonder if these pups they are advertising are registered or not?? They are charging alot of money for Shepherd pups if they aren't registered. There is no mention of the actual pedigrees of the dogs they breed with or health checks etc etc etc.
  8. Did another google search with a sentence from another page of the website (just out of curiosity) and shock, horror - guess what......the info they have about the breed is basically word for word and copies of photos from another website!! They must be really busy people that just don't have enough time to do their own work so copy others. There is no mention of info obtained from "so & so" website, absolutely no acknowledgement to anyone else at all.
  9. Just googled a sentence from the phrase and our Belgian website came up first and then sure enough this GSD website was right underneath, word for word. We have the same statement on both our GSD and Belgian websites. Unless these people were in my head at the time I wrote this statement there is no way that they came up with it themselves - word for word - minus maybe one or 2 words Our statement - A NON REFUNDABLE DEPOSIT OF $200 IS TAKEN AT TIME OF ORDER TO SECURE A PUPPY AND THE BALANCE IS TO BE PAID IN FULL BEFORE THE PUPPY LEAVES OUR CARE AT 8 WEEKS OF AGE. AT THIS TIME PUPPY WILL HAVE BEEN WORMED AT 2,4,6,7 & 8 WEEKS OF AGE, FIRST VACCINATION (MIN P6), VET CHECKED, HEARTWORMED AND FLEA/TICK TREATED. NO PUPPY WILL BE HELD WITHOUT A PAID DEPOSIT TO ENSURE GENUINELY INTERESTED PEOPLE WILL BE ABLE TO SECURE THE PUPPY THAT THEY WOULD LIKE. BEFORE PAYING THE $200 DEPOSIT BE SURE YOU REALLY WANT A PUPPY. WE DO NOT REFUND SIMPLY BECAUSE YOU CHANGE YOUR MIND. WE WILL TRANSFER YOUR DEPOSIT TO ANOTHER LITTER IF NEED BE. Their Statement - A NON REFUNDABLE DEPOSIT OF $200 IS TAKEN AT TIME OF ORDER TO SECURE A PUPPY AND THE BALANCE IS TO BE PAID IN FULL BEFORE THE PUPPY LEAVES OUR CARE AT 8 WEEKS OF AGE. AT THIS TIME PUPPY WILL HAVE BEEN WORMED AT 2,4,6,7 & 8 WEEKS OF AGE, FIRST VACCINATION C3 , VET CHECKED, AND FLEA TREATED, A VACCINATION CARD WILL BE PROVIDED.. WE WILL TRANSFER YOUR DEPOSIT TO ANOTHER LITTER IF YOU HAVE A JUSTIFIED REASON. Might send them an email and request they word their own statement without copying ours. Don't even know their names, why wouldn't you put your name to your website????
  10. Was brought to our attention today that another GSD breeder has copied word for word (minus a word or two) from a page on our website :D So went to check this site out and sure enough on their For Sale page as part of their sales agreement is our statement. The font is the same and you can see where they have added a bit - the font is different! Have changed our vaccinated with minimum of P6 to just c3 but everything else is the same. What we have written isn't rocket science and anyone could have written their own, why do people have to copy someone else's work???? And how much time do they have to check out websites to find what they want to copy????? This website has some other info that I would be very interested to see where they got that from. They haven't even put their names on the site, so I have no idea who they are. There isn't even a pedigree name of their dogs on there for us to check..... Just frustrated! I'm not a computer wizz and use the website templates from DOL so that we have sites that we can update ourselves, so don't know how I can go about blocking it from being copied - any puter wizzes out there would love to hear from you! Now deciding whether I should contact these people and request they remove our wording or just let it go. What is annoying is that people looking for puppies surf websites and would see this on both sites and may think this is a bit odd, considering our kennel has nothing to do with these people. Maybe should name and shame them or put up the 2 pages and see what everyone else thinks.....
  11. All our puppies sold to pet homes receive limited register papers. If the buyers aren't current members of the ANKC then the pups are registered on a LR. We explain that they are sold as pets, not for breeding or showing. If at any time they join their state kennel control we will look at doing a transfer. This is stated on our website as well. We charge the same amount for all puppies in the litter either Main or limited register
  12. Had something very similar happen to one of our dogs - She started screaming like she was in pain if you walked past her, raced her to the vet and watched her go blind while we sat in the surgery. They did test after test but all they could come up with was her white blood cell count was basically nil. Gave us some prednisone and antibiotics and took her home. My vet continued to consult some specialists but they couldn't pinpoint any 1 disease etc or reason for it. The fact that we watched her go blind in a matter of hours has everyone baffled. Within a week she had all her eyesight back but was left with one eye that is clouded. She can see perfectly and has no other side affects from it. Her last blood count was perfect! So has everyone totally stumped and the vet shaking his head. This occured nearly 2 yrs ago and there has been no sign of anything wrong with her since...... Will google SARDS would love to know exactly what it was. Never seen anything like it before!
  13. You may not get to see Dr Wyburn's notes as they are usually on a post it note and if the vet posted the xrays, they will go back to them. If this vet is as you decribed I couldn't imagine that she will leave the notes there if there is a problem with the xrays. I would suggest emailing Dr Wyburn and asking about the quality of the xrays. This is another reason we post the xrays ourselves, so they come directly back to us and I don't have to fight with the vet nurse to get them back!! We had 3 dogs done at the same time and 2 were incorrectly postioned which "could" have contributed to the higher scores on those sides. The scores were low but could have been lower! If the xrays were sent back to the surgery we would never had known as the vet nurse would have removed the Post It. Our vet is wonderful and does a great job.(just a know it all VN) I understand our dogs were done by a younger vet this time round, all good, they have to learn sometime.
  14. Human toothpaste isn't good for humans - google the ingredience!
  15. RIP Jan Our condolences to Peter and the rest of Jan's family and friends. I know that Narelle will certainly keep the Mingus Foxhounds out there, promoting them in the show rings around SE QLD. Richard, Kerry and Family
  16. Don't waste your time and money! We bought a heap of them and placed them alot closer together than recommended, as we had alot of snakes very close to the house and dog yards and we watched the snakes play around them!! Diesel is supposed to work and lime as the snakes don't like to cross it. We placed shadecloth, fruit netting and snake wire on all the fences to try to keep the snakes out of the dog yards. We didn't get a snake in any of the pens with all that but had to walk every step everywhere else.
  17. Wolfonyx GSD's has welcomed a new litter from our gorgeous Abbey. Born on Wednesday night, she surprised us with 9 babies (she wasn't very big at all so didn't expect any more than maybe 5) We lost one little boy yesterday but have 4 boys and 4 girls all doing very well! We are eagerly awaiting a litter from our problem child Sharmaine. We have had many attempts to get another litter from her but failed several times when we used a dog that afterwards found out he was sterile......then an AI with our black boy (that she hated so couldn't do a natural mating). Last attempt was 1 puppy that she subsequently squashed. She is due just after xmas, so fingers crossed that we are successful this time round! Good luck everyone with all your new additions
  18. Welcomed 5 very fat, heavy solid black GSD's on Saturday! Well worth missing the show for Mum & bubs all doing well.
  19. A local caring animal lover has started a petition requesting the govt to ensure that Ruth Schloss, owner of K & R Breeding Kennels be prosecuted to the full extent of the law and be banned from holding a licence to breed animals for life. If you are interested in signing this petition please PM me and I will forward the email. I will try to work out another way of posting it so everyone has access ( I'm not that computer savvy!! So if anyone can work out how to get in online and readily accessible please feel free to do so) This occurred in our local area. This "establishment" and the owners are well known out here and have been for a looooong time. It is common knowledge about these people and the conditions the animals live in and are in themselves. My question is why did it take so long and for conditions to get so bad before something concrete was done about it???????? If you were making the amount of money it has been reported they made, surely you would have a state of the art set up!!!!! And could afford to employ MANY people to look after the animals. (it has been reported that they raked in $36000 a weekend - work that out for yourself!!!!!!!!!!)
  20. Check with Evergreen Club or Gympie Obed Club. They hold their trial at Tansey but think there is only 1 trial left - end of August. Though there are too many snakes around already for us to venture out
  21. Congrats everyone!! So glad our local club now holds an ET. We used to travel to Grafton to run our dogs, now it's only an hour away. OH did his usual fantastic job with our dogs (while I stayed home in bed and came in later with the kids!!) He tells me I have to do it next year Our GSD Sharmaine ran well and was complimented by the vet. Apparently her heart rate hardly changed Just trying to work out how many we have done now. I think Shar would be our 14th or 15th ET dog. Also 4th generation ET titled GSD, behind her Aunty, Grandmother and Great Grandmother (Who qualied at the first ET held in QLD along with our GR Ch Malinois "DINO") More to run next year and will get the kids out there doing a dog each A huge thank you to Nanango & Dist ABKC for holding yet another great morning, to our Local Vet Trinity, judge Bruce Knobbs, always a nice man to have around and all the helpers. Good on you!!
  22. Thanks everyone for your kind thoughts, very much appreciated. Carlibud, I understand how you feel - I dread the anniversaries of our gone furkids - it's like going through it all over again. Yes she was a very special girl and it was such a shock to find her gone. We knew it was only a matter of time but didn't expect her to go so quickly, especially when she was still so active. We understand that this was the best way for her to go but was such a shock.......... She'll be having fun with her old mate Moo and the rest of our guys waiting at the bridge. I said to OH today that I will be in heaven when I go - to see all my kids standing there waiting for me is something to look forward to.
  23. On April 1st we said good bye to our sweet, ever loving girl "Teddy" She had been our constant companion for over 8yrs, coming to us as a gorgeous 2 yr old. Teddy always kept us amused with her tricks, learning to open the gate and letting everyone out when we weren't home. While the others were having fun running around the paddock she would sit at the top of the driveway and wait for us to come home. She was always there to watch over the kids as they played and was never more than a few metres away from her Mum. The day before she slipped away, we had a wonderful time enjoying a bath which included lots of cuddles and kisses, a nice roll in the grass and she looked so happy and content. We knew that the time was coming that she wouldn't be with us, due to cancer but she was still active & eating well. She enjoyed her dinner and went to bed. She peacefully slipped away during the night. She's left a huge hole in our hearts but we are thankful that she went peacefully. We all miss you Teddy Bears. Run free at the Bridge. GERMAN SHEPHERD - AUST CH QLCA F CH REDHAUS HAZE ET 20.01.1999 - 01.04.2009 A huge thank you to our neighbour and good friend Narelle for your support and help to lay Teddy to rest. All you have done is very much appreciated.
  24. Currently trying to get a club up and running in the Sunshine Coast area. They have had 1 fun day so far and I think planning another one for later in the year. We had tried to get a club going in the Sth Burnett - plenty of people interested in coming along but noone wanting to help get it going. The more people we can get involved the easier it will be to get these activities operating in other areas apart from Brisbane. If you live in close proximity to the Sunshine Coast / Gympie / Sth Burnett and want to take part in Lure Coursing please PM us and we can hopefully get something organised alot quicker.
