hi all, looking for good brands and places to buy, either online or in brisbane. We want a collapsable wire crate that both beagles can go in when we travel somewhere. We are borrowing one atm, from a friend who got it from someone selling them at the dog shows in durack. Cant seem to pinpoint who it was Any help appreciated, thanks jacqui

the beagles lie with me when im sick - all day. generally with their heads resting on one of my arms or legs.

you guys are all awesome. Seriously, I do know that my beagles, regardless of what other people say,are healthy and happpy, its just frustrating when the average jo make a comment - and i take it personally when i shouldnt. Ill get over it!!

too true Poodlefan! And its not like I go there often at all ha ha. Just annoying I guess.

So Im really pedantic about my 2 beagles. Mia has HD so we make a real effort to keep them healthy. They both weigh around 12.5 - 13kgs, have lovely waists....tick all the boxes. Down at the dog park the other day (we rarely go, but Im sick atm, and not up for big walk) another beagle owner told me that my dogs were too skinny. I tried to explain about HD, and the importance of keeping them healthy but it seems to have fallen on deaf ears. I know that beagles are notorious for being obese - am I crazy for thinking that no one knows what a healthy beagle looks like these days? I just feel frustrated, and am loathe to be considered a bad dog owner, or that Im underfeeding etc.

what a great thing to know about. ive just told hubby and we are going to look at getting one in the long run (for dog emergencies only) - even though we have pet insurance, we can pay on the card, then just put the refund straight on the card when we get it. Never ever knew about it.

Im sorry Ravk, Ive never experianced it myself, but I have someone I can ask. I don't know if she took pictures as it was horrific, but she is a strong supporter of students in the industry, so I know if she has anything she will pass them on. for high value we use happy paws training treats. for ultra desperate measures, we use chunkers from the supermarket...

shedding a few here tonight for you perse, poor little ducking....

I had the leashs' in one hand. They walk next to each other fine, no crossing over or headbutting, but it was like they were geeing each other up...... *Sigh* Practise makes perfect I guess....but next time Ill do a lead in each hand...

So the norm around here is that OH and I walk the 2 beagles together, one each. Tonight, OH is working later and I thought that instead of walking them later, I would walk them on my own..... How do you do it? I can walk ONE beagle quite comfortably, in control, set a good pace etc....with the two of them today, I got walked by them! I felt quite embaressed actually, like I was being dragged around. I cut the walk short - only 20 mins instead of the usual full hour. (I feel so guilty). No, Im not overly fit, dont have brilliant upper body strength (working on it though)...... Any multiple dog walkers have some tips?

My vet nurses/phone answers whoever are fantastic. They listen to me, then the next words out of their mouths are always "im going to put you on hold so i can go and check with the vet". Love it. I trust them to the the right thing by Mia and Charlie in EVERY situation.
