Hitting The Ring For The First Time
Wyntervale replied to angelsophie's topic in General Dog Discussion
Hey Nik, The only show training that I know of is at Bulla 7.30 pm on Wed nights... I haven't been yet because at the end of a long day it's just a bit much. I really really really need to go though. -

You'll be fine I've generally found that people are quite helpful. -

I'm not going to Sunbury, but I submitted an entry (albeit late) to the first day of Colac. Just a warning, I've heard that the numbers are quite low for Colac so make sure you get there in plenty of time to set up. -

Thanks AS Her breeder is happy so I'm happy. We're over a third of the way to title and we've got another 6 shows already entered... and I'm hoping that the more coat she has, the better she'll do. We're still a long way off a full coat still... I know we started behind the 8 ball, but now it's getting annoying since I'm getting more serious about it... lol. She's getting much happier in the ring, but I need to do some more training with her with stacking etc. We're not doing too badly. -

Dont be silly, Echo will get the hang of it in no time as will you. Just remeber to always be watching and learning!!!! Also get yourself to some handling classes if you have some locally, it is very helpful! Its like any sort of training all about reapatition! (sp?) I can go to the Bulla one as it is just down the road from me. The problem being I work at night time. It would be possible for me to switch my RDO from Mondays to Wednesdays and be able to go every second week. Something has to be better than nothing. I will miss my three day weekends though but sacrafices must be made. Yay... I'm going to have a newbie friend!!! I need to get along to the show training at Bulla... I'm just so lazy I haven't been able to bring myself to go out there on a work night *yawns*... it will mean that I'm racing home from work to get changed and scooting straight out and not getting back home until late... I'll get there one day. -

Thank you for your lovely comments ZZ... the cobwebs are just beaded on a material overlay... it's from Dress of Your Dreams

I love everyone's photos.. you're all so gorgeous! I'm usually the one behind the camera, I'm phobic of being in front of it... but there was one day I had no choice and it's the only photo of me with my precious boys that I love: and another one with the boys and the family A bit overexposed at the top though... Lola had been taken off somewhere else so she missed out
-
I have finally gotten photoshop, but I realise that it's going to take me a while to learn it. In the meantime, would someone be able to make a new signature block for me... pretty please with a cherry on top Preferred colours are black/purple/pink and here are some pics: Jasper: Diablo: Lola: Porsha: Lily: And last but not least, Sooty - Oct 97-May 09:

I was referring to another thread not long ago when "Sway" posted a copy of the new supposed permanent layout for Bulla ... but nothing has been officially published yet... VBG LOL.. ahh ok I've only shown there once, but when I asked for Ring 1 I was told that it was always inside

I'm getting used to feeling lonely... lol... but we're a third of the way to Lola's title and our first show was January so we can't be doing too badly. I'm not expecting much in the next couple of weeks, Lola still doesn't have her full coat, but there will be some competition to look at *yay* -

Cohuna Weekend (results & Group Numbers)
Wyntervale replied to capanash's topic in General Dog Discussion
Poor BB & BBJ. Not a fun weekend! Look after yourselves. I was wondering where you were, I figured it must've been bad. -
Congrats Erin That is fabulous

RIP Beam At least she was kept comfortable in her final hours and lots of hugs for you LC for doing such a wonderful thing helping this little one out.

Funnily enough, it does not remotely surprise me that an Afghan did that. People say they aren't intelligent, but I think that just proves that they are.

Oh dear! This is what I have to look forward to

Indestructable Ideas For Watering The Dog
Wyntervale replied to Tilly's topic in General Dog Discussion
I have no constructive advice... but if I had your dog I don't think I could resist the temptation to buy about 100 99c buckets and fill them all. Waste of water, but would be highly amusing. -
You can walk six labs at once? ;) I could walk 12 Labs at once if they were walked regularly and had learned the rules from early days. But 12 would probably have caused worse road burns than six . I might have to put on a few kilos to do it :p . Even a dog that is good on lead tends to forget the rules when another dog comes trotting up, at least with my relaxed training regime. I thought walking 3 Pointers was hard enough! LOL... I thought walking 2 Afghans was bad enough! Particularly when some idjits dog sticks its head under the fence while barking like it wants to eat them and scares the bejeesus out of them.... worse still the owner sticks his head over the fence asking what's going on while I try to control my two freaked out hounds. *rolls eyes*... some people are special... unfortunately we have to live with them.

Congratulations And Criticisms
Wyntervale replied to SkySoaringMagpie's topic in General Dog Discussion
I'm still a complete newb, so far I tend not to say anything unless I'm actually speaking to the person because I don't want to embarrass myself and I'm prone to paying insufficient attention to what's going on while I'm trying to work out what the hell I'm doing. But I try to have a smile for everyone. I'm there to have fun and try to just cruise through whatever else is going on there that I don't need to know about. I've been very lucky and met some fantastically helpful people and had someone in my breed make a point of coming over and introducing themselves when I was being shy and not wanting to distract them when they were busy. I thought that was just lovely.
