:D Great news!!

Beagle babies hopefully due 22nd April..............

Had a great week-end with Enzo at the show today. He moved really nicely for me and actually stacked!!! (as long as I tickled his tummy - hey that's a small price to pay ;) ) Was sooooo proud of him! Have some more photos of him winning the Match competition but the lady's computer is broken!

I have to say I hate it when I see some of 'our pups' and they are fat. We try soooo hard to get prople to see that it is much healthier for them to stay a bit lean. They do change their minds a bit if they come to a show and see all ours.....
-
Had his first show today and he was so good. Another day tomorrow.....

Our Beagles weight between about 12.8 up to our biggest boy (has great bone! :-) )who is 14.8 but you can still see his waist and feel his ribs. Yours sound absolutely fine to me!!

Well - we went to Sshow training on Wednesday evening and, like I said, it was a match night. Both boys behaved themselve and showed well..... Ollie got throught to the semi-finals and.................................... ENZO WON!!!! YAY GO ENZO!!! Just had to do a little brag......
-
Went to Show training again this morning - took Enzo and Ollie (Beagle) Had a great morning! Both boys behaved well - Enzo relaxing enough that he was lying down in the ring while waiting for his turn - not jumping around like a mad idiot. Don't know whether it was because it was morning, cooler or because we were a bit late so he didn't get himself all het up playing with the other pups but whatever it was cerainly worked! We have a match day next Wednesday evening so that should prove interesting! Will work on his stacking - trying to get him to extend a bit more and stay still at the same time!!
-
Gee thanks Monah....
-
Have to say big fluffy Leonberger thought he was rather lovely too!! Enzo played sooo hard he snapped his show lead - now I have to figure out what to use on him....
-
Thought I would give you an update - still taking Enzo to show training (probably there for the next 5 years at this rate! ) ALL my dogs lurve big fluffies and will do anything to play with them - my beagles especially love Borzoi's! Anyway - photos! I think I like you... Yup I do like you.. and I really like you too.. but Mum I want to see whats over there!!!.. YAY - git it - for a few seconds anyway
-
My only thought with them is that they will be keen enough to 'break the barrier' after something really exciting but might not be quite so keen to come back!

Our girls stay in a pen with the whelping box in the pen. They have the option of being in the whelping box with the pups or outside in the pen but we find that they are rarely out of the whelping box for at least the first week, except to go to the toilet or eat. Beagles being beagles start off generally as little piglets andd double their birthweight in the first week - if not more!

Oh I'm so sorry to hear that - all the waiting........ Hope Mina is OK....

Too Much Rough Play For A Puppy?
AdoubleJ replied to all creatures's topic in General Dog Discussion
We have a new Italian Spinone puppy - he is 12 weeks old. We also breed beagles. We have picked our easiest beagle to play with Enzo,Hugo is only 10 months old but is the least 'roughest' at playing. We have to be sooo careful with Enzo as already he is bigger than the beagles. This has worked really well for us, they have their 'tear around the garden' time, their roll around and play time then each goes their seperate ways and relaxes, maybe for hours. We have been lucky in the boy we picked so it works really well, well - maybe not lucky - we know our Beagles so made the right choice with Hugo. -
I'm sure he gets bigger everytime I look at him. Having never had a big dog before I know we have to be careful that he doesn't grow too fast but........ He gets as much to eat that he will eat, some days more thatn others.....
-
This is Enzo at show training - he is starting to get the hang of it! and he just keeps on growing........and growing.......and growing....
-
This is our new show boy - I'm sure one day he will let me stack him LOL We have waited 4 years for him...
-
See you all soon!!

I want to go to the UK... Realistically it wont happen, we had a bit of a 'Scottish' topic happening a while ago.. :D I'd love the freedom of no (or hardly any) snakes... had another in the pool last week, a different one to today. We don't have them in New Zealand!!
-
Gosh Monah - what a time!!! I knew there was a reason I didn't want to go and live in Australia!!! What's this about Scotland?
-
We have an 'ANKLE BITER"!!! :D Little bugger is just starting to push the boundaries!! I suppose it had to start sometime!
-
Thank you jerojath! Had lovely comments from the owner of the Wire Haired Vizsla - always nice to hear.... Have to say I do like the Wire Vizsla - just a weeee bit different. Monah - need to keep him 'out there'! I like animation in the ring! A bit car sick on the way there - slept all the way back so didn't throw up - will be taking him everywhere with us to get him used to it - I know he will grow out of it. Enzo has had lots of sleep this afternoon - one tired wee boy.

Well Enzo is 10 weeks old today!! Took him to show training for the first time today :-) He was a tad wary of all the other dogs at first but didn't take long to get into his stride! Tail wagged the whole time, couldn't get enough of the other dogs and puppies. He found a 10 week old Dalmation puppy that didn't mind him trying to 'hump' him! Took a fancy to a friends 1 year old Wire Haired Vizsla, thought he might give it a go with her but she very nicely put him in his place - took 2 goes but he did get the message :-) Very good socialising for him and I even got him round the ring 1 and half times!!
