Wow thanks. Cause they are ALL so terrible.

Aussie Shepherds seem to adore playing with other Aussies. ;) Nothing plays like some of the leggy Terriers like the Irish, Airedales, Foxies. They really need to play with each other to have a really good play. Sometimes working dogs look at Ruby like WTF are you trying to do? When all she wants to do is play.

I hope it goes National! We would have a reason to keep showing Ruby if that was the case!
-
I'd love to come to the next one but Holly may well be in season. Will keep an eye on everything and fingers crossed, might just be me and Gooby Ruby!
-
We have a gorgeous girl that comes into work, lovely dog. BIG and beautiful.

Any show where the judge has had or bred Irish Terriers! Vic Aust Shep Specialty.

I was about to jump in and say a Soft Coat Wheaten is NOT a good idea but poodlefan beat me. I love Poodles in the show clip, in puppy clip and in the pet clips. I think they look impressive in the show clip and I know there's a reason behind it but maybe someone more involved with poodles would be better to explain it. I love the pic of the poodle clipped like a terrier.

Thanks! She's a great dog, great family pet while still retaining the Irish personality! Her brother is also a Danny. Great name. What kennels was your Mum's from? PM me if you would prefer.

ont worry you would be surprised in how many vets have no clue about breeds Don't think I would be, there are so many in our group that don't know much about breeds and can't tell alot apart. Oh well, I don't know much about cattle or sheep... But I'm not planning on being a large animal vet either.

Border Terriers are great little earthdogs! Still doing what they should be doing. The Irish as still great watchdogs, have good prey drive and the ones I know would kill a rat or rabbit or bird given half a chance, and bring it back to you if you asked. I know Ruby does - she hunts, catches, then gently brings the animal to us and drops it at our feet. Plus they are still great dogs for kids. They were bred as all round poor farm dogs - vermin hunters and watch dogs and were sometimes used as retrievers. There are many Aussies out there with good herding instinct. Mine isn't one of them, but both of her parents have strong instinct I am told.

Holly is a Border Collie or a Coolie, and then when you explain she's an Aussie Shepherd, they "come from Coolies" or "the same as Coolies". Ruby is always an Airedale. But with only a handful of breeders in Aus I don't blame people for thinking that. When I say Irish Terrier to people who haven't seen her, people always seem to assume I mean an Irish Setter. Even other vet students... now there's a worry. A terrier and a setter are VERY different.

See I like the 'newer' Bull Terriers of today, personally. I LOVE the heads on them. But that's just me.
-
Frech Bulldog looks pretty similar to today's, the Irish Terrier looks like alot of the old pics of Irish I've seen. Dachshunds don't look much different either. The Dally looks almost identical to today's as well.

2 points, thats just not fair is it? No shows here, starting 2010 at hilsbro around jan the 15th I think! I know! Only two for Riley and 3 for Holly - Holly got the last 2 BOBs and Riley the two RuBOBs, if Riley had taken one BOB instead he would have had his title and been retired from the show ring - he doesn't like showing much. I've only titled one dog so far who was Ruby, hers here mostly 6 or 7 point challenges (one 11 pt challenge that titled her at the Royal though) so titling Holly and Riley is going to be so exciting!
-
Does anyone have any shows left for this year? We are all done - on 97 points! The male I show is also only 2 points away from his title! Our next show is the weekend before Australia Day.
-
Bandit is gorgeous!

Mine are just crappy point and shoot shots, nothing special really but I love each of these pictures! Really capture how much Holly adores her little sister Maizie. I love it. A girl a friend bred. I love this picture. No idea why! And Ruby. Ok so it's four.
-
That reminds me - I also want to apply for my prefix.
-
Get Holly's title! Very excited about how close she's getting. Get the last 17 points for Riley, an Aussie Shepherd I show for Holly's breeder. We have two baby Aussies hitting the ring this Sunday, I'm very excited about them both but one is pretty special to me, so I'm looking forward to a couple of successful careers. May have a new older, successful dog to handle but it's not a definate yet, fingers crossed that happens. Become a better Dachie and Basset handler! Love those little guys.
-
Red merle are probably my favourtie but then I'm biased! Thanks! I quite like her head too, it's feminine without being too fine. Her 1/2 sister Maizie looks like she will have a similar head, if not a little better!
-
Red merle are probably my favourtie but then I'm biased! Poocow - show your OH Maizie, could he really say no to a wittle cutie pie Aussie???
-
So do I, but OH says no Me too but parents say no. I want a red tri male Aussie to show, no matter how hard showing red tris are!
-
Hey guys! If anyone buys the Dog News Australia Diary check out the Irish Terriers! They are Ruby and brother Danny.
-
It was like that for us yesterday with Ruby - judge HARDLY looked when going over her, didn't even look at her in the group line up. It's rather annoying - it's like at least LOOK! Anyone who gets the Dog News Diary for 2010 - Ruby is in there! And brother Danny got the male spot.
