I was looking for a form on the Dogs Qld site and saw they had put up a further explaination of the ballot and the reason they only gave us a week to vote.
-
I received a ballot paper in the mail today from Dogs Qld from the speel that came with it it seems that they are making some changes to have the committee members voted in. They are asking members to vote to retain the current committee for the next 2 years whilst the changes to the constitution are made. They are wanting us to reply by Monday which doesn't give much time but at least they have given us a reply paid envelope. So all you Qld members out there especially those that are always complaining about the current system and how much of a dictatorship you think it is get your ballots back to them so change can be started.

Dracdog replied to ~Rumour~'s topic in General Dog Discussion
My 7 Year old Sheltie gets called a Collie pup, Minni Collie, Chihuahua Collie cross, When I say that he is a mature Shetland sheepdog the usual response is he is a teacup Collie -

C.c.c. Qld's New Breeder Accredited System
Dracdog replied to Swanbrook's topic in General Dog Discussion
What do you think they should do to improve the system? I see a lot of poohooing but very little in the way of constructive ideas. -
I know Dogs Qld has it. They charge $35 + about $10 postage

Um Isnt Showing A Desexed Bitch Wrong?
Dracdog replied to Missymoo's topic in General Dog Discussion
I may be wrong not having a desexed dog for years but the last one I did own the vet put a tattoo in its ear to id it as being desexed. If they still do it shouldn't the judge be able to see it when he/she is going over the dogs head? -
A few years ago I went to an interview for an Animal Management position with a Local Council and was told that as part of the job I would be able to enter a persons home to take an animal if there was even a hint of cruelty suspected or if the animal was a nusince. So it is not just the RSPCA that can do it. They also said that if an animal was found wandering and picked up they would try to contact the owners but if the dog, cat or what ever was not collected within 3 days then it belonged to the Council and was either rehomed, sent to the RSPCA or the University.

In Japan last year or the year before there was a bloke who married I think it was a pillow with a picture of a Manga cartoon woman on it

It wasn't too long ago they tried to introduce very similar legislation in Qld with mandatory desexing ect. Dogs Qld steped in along with others and now the only thing that is Mandatory is Microchipping. Perhaps the ACT should contact Dogs Qld for some help.
-
I'm interested to find out this also. I still cannot justify the need to have it transferred over to me if all it is is a name on a piece of paper. The dog is registered under me at the council and the microchip have both my details and the breeders. It seems to me its just easy revenue for DogsNSW. Would you buy a car and not want it transfered it into your name? Or if you sold a car you would want it out of your name.
-
You can send it to the State body where you live. As for having to transfer the dog I know in Qld the rules state that it has to be transfered within 14 days of the dog changing owners and it is the responsibility of the person selling the dog to ensure it is done. You also don't need to be a member to have a dog transfered to you.

I am a bit confused. I have read this months Dog World and saw the ad for the Health Clinic this weekend but a couple of weeks ago they had on the website that it had been canned. Does anyone know if they are on or not?
-
I went into the Dogs Qld Office yesterday to renew my Membership and was given some information that i thought I would pass on. If you want to send something in or contact them next week they will be incomunicado from Thursday 3 Dec to Mon 6 Dec because they are moving on those days and will not have any phones, email, snail mail or be open to visit. So if you need to get things in or contact them, do so before next Thursday or after the following Monday.

Did anyone see the Lab pup that had eaten a heap of snail bait on Bondi vet last night. Iam glad the poor thing is all right and would love to put the person or persons who spread the snail bait all over the owners lawn through the same torture. How can people do crap like that to any animal let alone a defencless little pup?

:D It appear that there has been a change to the Gazebo policy for Durack according to their website "Council would like to thank all Members for their input in regards to the matter and wish to advise that the restrictions in regards to Gazebo's at Durack will be relaxed somewhat with immediate effect. Gazebos will be allowed to be left overnight when there are weekends with more than one Show (i.e. Friday / Saturday or Saturday / Sunday) but they are not to be left with any 'Ground Cover' and must only be left with the framework still assembled. All Gazebos and Motor Homes and Caravans must be assembled / parked at least 12 feet (3.6 metres) from the outer edge of any Rings or Assembly Areas. This will stop any impediment to access or viewing of the rings by Exhibitors and Show Officials alike. Exhibitors are asked to take note of all Safety Issues regarding their Gazebos and are reminded that they are left at their own risk."

Dog Mince - Curious On Your Thoughts!?!
Dracdog replied to Sunnyflower's topic in General Dog Discussion
I get my pet mince from the local butcher for $1 a bag and I also get Marrow bones for $2 each. He has gotten sly recently though If people just by pet mince and or bones the prices go up by $1, they stay at the original price if you buy other meat as well.
