Don't The Rules Apply To You Or Something?
Dracdog replied to Maxiewolf's topic in General Dog Discussion
This is hard to believe...I used to live there for 9 years and heard many croc stories, but a croc walking through the door of a shop (no shopping "centre" in Nightcliff when I lived there not so long ago, just the small open mall and shops in the street)but anyway that's not the point, crossing the Stuart Hwy and occassionally being found in someones backyard pool happened from time to time. Regularly there were dogs tied up outside Palmerston SC & Casuarina SC in Darwin and almost always without water in the hot tropical weather.. I just called it the centre It wasn't one as such just a few shops blocked together up the road from the pool. -
i don't understand why they insist you ahve to be a member to have a dog in your name. You don't have to in Qld. To my way of thinking it is like buying a car and being told it can't be transfered to you until you join the RACQ.

Don't The Rules Apply To You Or Something?
Dracdog replied to Maxiewolf's topic in General Dog Discussion
When I used to live in Darwin people would take their dogs into the local shop. The scariest thing I saw though was when I went to the Nightcliff shopping center and saw a 2 meter croc walking through the door -
Why Are Ankc Agility Nationals Held Bi-yearly?
Dracdog replied to Tay.'s topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
don't they also alternate with the Obedience Nationals? -
Pretty sure this is "supposedly" against the rules, when the entry form for a show states that the dog must be vaccinated at time of exhibition. It is in the rules. They also say, (in Qld at least) that dogs that are not entered are not allowed on the grounds without special permission from the Show Manager

I thought I'd watch last nigth and saw that one of the competitors is a Beagle Breeder from WA. Does anyone know her?

My 2 get a Marrow bone each once a week. I give the bones to them at the same time(within a couple of seconds of each other). The older one takes his one way and the younger one goes the other. I tried Chicken & Turkey necks but the Lab just inhailed them and started choking.

I had one that said " Before you go beyond these walls just remember my dog likes balls"

So Angry, Just Got A Call From A Byb
Dracdog replied to Baileys mum's topic in General Dog Discussion
A few months ago I was walking my Lab and came across a bloke with a Westie, We started talking as you do and he was commenting about how in his oppinion my Lab was a good looking dog. I said that I was thinking about putting him up for stud in the near future to which he repiled his girl was just comming into season and he would love to use my boy. After asking if he was a registered breeder and him saying he was. Silly me was thinking he had left her at home as she was comming in and was just walking his other dog so I said I'd like to have a look at her. He pointed down and said here she is. I walked away -
I will never forget when they had Pamela Anderson as there spokesman. Here she was spouting their crap all the time wearing a pair of uggies.

The Strangest Cross Breed You Have Ever Seen?
Dracdog replied to jackie_a1's topic in General Dog Discussion
I saw one at the park on Sunday it was a Whippet Staffie cross. Weirdest looking dog I have seen in a while. Looked like a Whippet on roids -
Here are the results of the ballot that Dogs Qld recently sent to members as published on their website Member Voting Papers Dispatched 7,082 Voting Papers Received from Members 1,177 (represents 16.6% of votes dispatched) "Yes Votes" for the Concept Support Question 1,073 (represents 91.2% of votes received) from the results it looks fairly obvious that they will be keeping the existing committee for the next 2 years until the changes to the constitution are made. It is disappointing to see the low number of votes received though.

C.c.c. Qld's New Breeder Accredited System
Dracdog replied to Swanbrook's topic in General Dog Discussion
I have seen one of these surveys they don't ask for any details of the breeder. they just ask things like what breed you bought, what you have had previously, what sought of info was given on things like the care of the pup, local council regs, Dogs Qld ect, if they pleased with their experience. Once again there is nothing to ID the Breeder. Doing the right thing is more than just registering or transfering the dog it is how you treat your dogs and your clients aswell. As you are more than willing to point out there are puppy farmers who are registered breeders, and I agree there probably are a few bad apples, but if they are registering and transfering their dogs then by your statment they are doing the right thing. -
I have found that a couple of drops of NILODOUR works well

C.c.c. Qld's New Breeder Accredited System
Dracdog replied to Swanbrook's topic in General Dog Discussion
You haven't been in the dog world a long time have have you. Because, by your post it shows. And I like your wife, at least know when to get out. So your attitude is anyone who doesn't have your oppinion sould just go away. That is pathetic, what are you affraid of? I have not been in the dog world long (about 7 years) but have had dogs since I was knee high to a grasshopper. I have been and still am involved in alot of clubs outside the dogworld and has never experienced the amount of arrogance an sheer aggression towards committee's and new people, nor have I seen the amount of poor me syndrome when something doesn't go your way. I will not be getting out as on a whole I enjoy the Dog World it is just the narrow minded selfcentered people that would rather distroy and put down than help to buildup that annoy the hell out of me. -
C.c.c. Qld's New Breeder Accredited System
Dracdog replied to Swanbrook's topic in General Dog Discussion
I must say this after reading this thread again all I see are a lot of whinging and b*/-+ing from the vast majority of the posts. Some of you are as bad as my exwife if I went outside to do some work in the yard she would winge at me saying there was work to do inside first, so I would leave it and come inside to do the stuff inside. 5 minutes later she would be having ago at me for not being outside doing the things that needed to be done out there. You people are dong the same thing with the CC's not just Qld and not just in this post. You whyne that they don't do anything to help you just take your money then when they try to make a change to help members and their dogs or improve the system you have a cry about that. Have any of you written to Dogs Qld and made suggestions on how the system can be improved. I doubt you have it is far easier to abuse them online and in hiding. It is time to wake up and smell the s#%& you are shoveling. The people running the CC's are not Gods, they can't just snap their fingers and make everything perfect (even if they were able to what is perfect for one is not necessarily perfect for another), they are people like you and me trying to do their best to help the dog world. Hell from what I have read all the Committee members are volunteers and don't get anything for holding these positions and copping flak from members. Stonebridge I didn't have to pay my renewal until 31 December same as most other members so I don't know why you said that it had to be paid a month early unless you are a judge or something and had to pay earlier. -
Seen as my last suggestions got a laugh how about these. Cheindchasse (French for gundog) Lechasse (french for the hunt) Amipourlavie (french for friend for life) Amifidele (french for loyal friend)

There is a Boston Terrier Club in Qld, If you want I'll look up the number and let you know
-
I think you are right there Do you seriously think they would do that. I think you need to wake up and realise that not everyone in the world is out conspiring against you. Believe it or not there are alot of people in the world who don't just think of what is best for them and actually go out of their way to try and do what is best for everyone involved.
