  1. Havanese dig and I don't mean holes in the ground, though they do that sometimes. Put one on the bed and it will dig in the one spot for about 5 to 10 seconds then flop down on that spot and go to sleep. It could also be on the lino or the carpet or the concrete or..... I don't know what they're digging for but they ALL seem to do it.
  2. We actually don't all do it!!! My Havanese assume the dead cockroach position pretty much every time they go to sleep whilst the Schipperkes can assume that position on occasion but don't do it all the time....
  3. Havanese also assume the dead cockroach position whilst sleeping. Schipperkes were the first breed to participate in a dog show.
  4. Well I didn't know that Schipperkes were independent little buggars and we have 3 of them.... Guess you learn something new every day
  5. Have you thought about a Schipperke? They are good watch dogs and need virtually no grooming. Good watch dogs and with children. Also good for agility and obedience.
  6. Pardon my ignorance but what might a Shimmy Shim be????????? Shimmy Shim is a Blue Great Dane that a very kind soul told me belongs to you, Congratulations!!!
  7. BPIG Shih TzuPIG Tibetan Terrier JIG - RUBIG IIG - BIG AIG Dal Pardon my ignorance but what might a Shimmy Shim be????????? ;)
  8. I find this all the time. As soon as I have put my dog on the table, the judge starts going over them, while I am still setting the dog up. They wait for other, more confident exhibitors though I noted this myself when I first started exhibiting and decided that I would try and look like I had a good dog and it was worth their time waiting for me. I have found that this has helped with the time given whilst stacking my dogs
  9. I do with my older one but not so much with the baby as he gets all excited and tries to jump all over me
  10. NO Buggar. Just hope they can't work out how to get over the Woronora River then......
  11. Funny you should say that. I find I get given more time to stack my Havanese than I do with my Schipperke.....
  12. Sorry but if it's taking you 15 seconds to stack your dog, you are taking wayyyyyy too long. I put my dog on the table, sometimes have to straighten the front legs but usually only have to move 1 of the back legs into place. Lucky if it takes me 3 seconds to stack my bitch. Yes, there is the occasional Judge who doesn't really seem interested in my breed but I just add them to my little black book
  13. My piece of paper says Havanese (3) and I have 2 of them so..... :D :D
  14. I spoke with the people in the Purina VIP stand today as they had a TV set up and had the BOB pics on a slideshow. You can buy a CD with the pics of your breed on it for $50. My friend's OES got puppy of breed and she was told she could have her pics on a flash drive on the spot for $50.
  15. He is the photographer this year but when he will be putting them up IDK
  16. Be careful that these don't become habits. Better to train your dog the correct way from the start than to allow them to develop bad habits which you will have great difficulty getting rid of.
  17. I thought their name was Nagla something?? I cant remember the name or find them on a google search Unfortunately they're not doing the pics this year. It is a fella that Debra got to take some pics of the Schipps last year, the ones that appear in the Diary and the Annual that are out. Guess I'll have to ask her what his name is or I can just ask him when I go back on Tuesday. I have tried google but with no success!!! :p ;)
  18. Unfortunately you don't know until the day you are showing the approximate time you will hit the ring. I showed my Schipp yesterday and we were told we would hit the ring not before 12.30pm. We were told a bit later it would be after 1pm. We eventually hit the ring at about 4.30pm
