Mine is also one that Ozzie Scales made. He has unfortunately passed away but I am told the new guy making these trolleys does a very good job. I would highly recommend them!!!

..... Going to answer your question with a couple of questions to you, Havasneeze - save ME doing the hard yacka getting drawn into your one line comment :D :D. Why don't you enlighten us as to the evidentiary reason for these collars being called in as illegal in some States? And seeing as you believe that there must be presumably good reason for things to be made illegal, please reveal to me evidence upon which reason for Victorian Government made the use of PPCollars (aka Pinch or Prong Collars) illegal ??? My point being that Government decisions to ban do not equate to the tools being bad, wrong or cruel. And the Government well knows that fact. Erny, I'm guessing that you think torture is a reasonable way of extracting information from people too? Sorry but I will not be drawn into a debate about this matter. I believe both the electronic collars and citronella spray collars are cruel. My dogs are my pets, I will not subject them to torture in any way, shape or form. I don't think you need to be a rocket scientist to see that perhaps, other people may think that way too!!! As for PPCollars, these were not suggested by you in your original post and since I am not in Victoria (I don't hide the fact that I'm in NSW) I have no idea as to why the Victorian Government would ban them. I am however, wondering why you would ask me that or is it that you're leading onto another subject.... perhaps one that has been broached at the end of last year???

Don't you think those collars are illegal for a reason?????

Yes my beardie can still bark but it doesn't annoy the neighbours any more. I was concerned that he wouldn't be able to howl when the sirens went past (he really does seem to enjoy that!!!) but he seems to have worked out how to do that now....

I'll answer here since this is where u posted. I recently had my bearded collie debarked. After being hit with an order under the noise pollution act by the local council they have finally relented, after 3 years of hounding me, to issue an order under Section 21 of the companion animals act. This is the piece of paper needed for a vet to debark your dog. You also need to complete a statutory declaration stating that you have tried all methods available to stop your dog from being a nuisance and have no alternative but to have the dog debarked or it will be euthenased. I had my dog debarked by Cannon & Ball in Wollongong as they were highly recommended for this procedure. I don't know what vets debark on the north shore but Karen Hedberg at North Richmond also does it. Hope this helps...

One envelope here. I think if I sent multiple envelopes I'd be shot!!! I often enter via ozentries and it makes me pay for multiple postage and envelopes which are generally very kindly enclosed in my envelope with my numbers... we do have Tom Couchman as a cataloguer for most of our shows and he is VERY professional.

Biss- Should You Enter Property Classes?
Havasneeze replied to Irish Lassy's topic in General Dog Discussion
Give everybody a chance. Don't go in the property classes if you want your specialty show to continue with good numbers. -

are we taking bets ? NSW has been able to do it for a while now. I suspect it will be run via this site Site. Now is Dogs Vic were in charge it would be 2 years and counting. Yes we've had it for nearly 12 months now. Wonderful system!!! It has sped things up tremendously for us.... -
What Time Does The Toy Breeds Start At Hillsborough
Havasneeze replied to Bow Wow's topic in General Dog Discussion
Too many toys so the cavs & paps are in the terrier ring and the terriers are in ring 8, over the creek. Not sure if this is for each show though.... -

Oh boy, the judges/stewards got morning tea? Lucky them!!! I wish someone would bring me scones or muffins when I'm stewarding!!! -
Dracdog, did you not read my contribution immediately above yours which was taken from the DogsVic website? That gives the definition which means that your understanding is apparently incorrect. Ellz, the Schipperke Association of NSW held a sanctioned show this year judged by its patron Vivienne Fears (NZ). So I think Dracdog and I could be correct in the notion the sanction means approval of any detail outside the system, not only the host club. CC I think you are probably correct CC. I do know that the Schipperke Assocation applied to Dogs NSW to have an Open Show with Vivienne Fears judging but when the approval came back it was for a Sanctioned Show not an Open Show. I'm guessing that has something to do with Mrs Fears not being licensed to Judge. Mrs Fears was approached to judge as she and her husband are long time breeders of Schipperkes.

+1 I was told that double handling was when a person outside the ring tried to get the dogs attention etc. Given that this case is a dog outside the ring, would it still be called double handling? ETA. Also wondering how a complaint would work. The other person could just say they were watching the judging while hanging on to a dog. And of course deny the noises they were making to attract the exhibit. Double handling is still double handling whether it happens inside or outside of the ring. I often make use of another exhibitor baiting their dog or making noises that attracts their dogs attention (and mine). If my dog wants to pay attention to another exhibitor and isn't interested in paying attention to me, I would be stupid not to make use of it. Technically it is double handling but try and prove it, same as having someone outside of the ring double handling, very difficult to prove.

Vocal Dogs In The Ring And Etiquette
Havasneeze replied to SnoPaws's topic in General Dog Discussion
Who told you that? I started my time in the dog show world in the terrier ring when terriers WERE real terriers and sparring was an artform. We baited off each other and if we were fortunate to be in the BIS ring, we did the same off the dog to the front and to the rear, in that case it would be a working dog (Utility) in front and a toy dog behind. We knew how close to be to not intimidate the toy dog, however it should be noted that many more toy dogs often went off and attempted to attack anything around it and the handlers did nothing to stop it. The terrier ring was tough and loud and intimidating then and our working group (Utility) was the same (before they split into the herding group as well) Not a place for the weak that's for sure! Perhaps this generation of showies just doesn't have the scar tissue that some of us oldies have and this is why we simply snort about the whingers complaining about something so simple as a dog barking in the ring? I'm guessing you have not been round the toy ring when the chihuahuas are showing.... and if you were in a BIS lineup with a chihuahua there too, I'd bet they would be doing exactly the same thing with their chi as you did with your terrier.... and as for a chihuahua speciality show, now there's a real eye opener -
Vocal Dogs In The Ring And Etiquette

Well here's my 2 cents worth!!!! Having shown Bearded Collies, I understand your dilemna. I have one that just won't shutup and the other one (who has now gone to a lovely pet home) always looked like he was on drugs, he was so laid back in the ring and in life. It's a fine line to walk. I have had people tell me to shut my dog up and others who appreciate that this is just the nature of the beast. Sounds like yours is pretty quiet anyways and as CC says, you are there to show your dog to its best advantage. Keep on doing what you're doing and let the wowsers take a hike!!! Best of Luck... -

How many Havanese plssssssssssssss

Thanks for that!!! I was close, the dog is the father of Harry Potter and I think the bitch is his litter sister....

I'm gunna take a stab in the dark and say that the Schipp who got BIG was Harry Potter, but I could be wrong and will happily stand corrected...

I have a very stubbourn Havanese. Call the dogs in for their dinner. They all come except for Peaches. Say "chicken" all the dogs will come inside except Peaches, she just stands on the drive wagging her tail. How to handle this? Well, first time she did it I shut the door on her. About 2 minutes later she starts scratching at the door, as everybody is getting fed except her. Did I let her in? NO WAY. She had to wait until I was READY to let her in, which was about 2 hours later. Tried it again another day. Everybody came inside except Peaches. Went to the kitchen to feed the dogs and Peaches starts scratching at the door. Did I let her in? NO WAY. Once again I made her wait till I was READY to let her in. Now we seem to have an understanding. I call everybody in for dinner, Peaches still stands on the drive. I have noticed that as I close the door, she is coming towards it to come inside. If I open the door, she heads in the other direction. If I let her get to the door and scratch on it to come inside, she will come in. I guess you would call that a compromise.....
