  1. When I go away for a quickie I take 2 or 3 dogs, one puppy pen, one trolley & my grooming box. Also PP20's for the smaller dogs & PP40 if I take the bigger girl. My bag for me is one of the smaller type and I only take what fits in it... I also take a small chiller bag with 1kg of chicken necks & some proplan in a container. That's my idea of travelling light... I also try to go to places I have been before, like where I know there is shade which means I don't have to take the gazebo.
  2. It is very difficult to get a class in show with over 1,000 entries and they do deserve the double points for that.
  3. BB do you have Barbara Kilworth on Facebook? She was the official photographer and usually posts them there.... No idea when they would be up on the Royal site.
  4. Link for the Western Circuit (Condobolin) http://mydogs.com.au/condobolincircuit/con...n--the-town.asp
  5. Shadownoir is owned by a Schipperke breeder so that's out...
  6. I wouldn't consider that behaviour to be a problem. I have a friend with a beardie that broke just about all her teeth trying to chew her way out of a metal crate....
  7. Nice to see the beardie getting BIG herding too
  8. Yes, I noticed that the pic used for the breed standard is as you described, so I figured that was what was preferred (was going to use "assume" but really hate that word )
  9. My best suggestion would be to read the standard for the Jack Russell. This is the line most appropriate to your question: Colour: White MUST predominate with black and/or tan markings. The tan markings can be from the lightest tan to the richest tan (chestnut). Here is the link for the standard http://www.ankc.org.au/Breed_Details.aspx?bid=60
  10. were the wins actually taken away? or is it just a gazette results entry because of the database not holding the registration details? In answer to this question, I have now spoken with the owner of the dog and the first she knew about any trouble was when I told her what was in the Gazette. She has not had the wins taken away nor the points removed, in fact she has heard nothing at all from Dogs NSW regards this matter.
  11. How many Schipperkes please? 11 Ring 2 not before 1.00pm Friday I can sleep in Thanks!!!
  12. Recently an exhibitor in NSW was banned for unsportsmanlike behaviour and it definitely made the rounds - everyone knew about it. and they transferred the dogs out of her name and continued showing...
  13. And how would you propose such people be removed Gayle? DogsQld rule 224 Any person causing annoyance by loud comments on the decision of the Judges or being guilty of unsportsmanlike action while in the precincts of an exhibition shall be guilty of an offence agains these Rules and may, after being cautioned by a member of the show Committee or other Official of the show, be ordered to leave the show. If such person fails to comply with such order he shall be guilty of a further offence against these Rules. MAY is the magic word in this case...
  14. I have numbers but no breakdown sheet. Breakdown is apparently being posted on OzShow list today/tonight. I can tell you that there are about 300 entered each day (that's the whole show not Utility group) LOL
  15. I'm guessing you mean Rules 19.1.2, 19.1.2.1 & 19.1.2.2. These are the particular points under which we worked. We chose to move Junior Handlers to our July show and start the breed at the advertised time of 5.30pm, weather permitting. As it turned out, it was the correct decision and the show went ahead at the advertised time and with no problems. We also had to try to not disadvantage those exhibitors who had entered Sydney Kennel Club show which was scheduled to start at 8am on Sunday. Once again, I point out, that it is the Exhibitors choice as to whether they show their dogs or not. Whilst I appreciate the the GRA chose to "postpone" their meetings, I think there is a big difference between a dog running full bore around a track chasing a lure and a dog doing a lap around a small show ring at a trot. "Postpone" is the important word in this sentence. We would have been "cancelling" our show, not "postponing" it. Let's try looking at things from a different perspective. Let's say I'm a "working" dog exhibitor, I would be very upset if you chose to cancel the show without adhering to the rules of Dogs NSW. "Working" dogs should be able to "work" all day in any temperature and any conditions. Having shown working dogs myself, I know that this is the most important aspect when looking at a "working" dog. Does it look like it can work all day under any conditions? If it doesn't, then it is NOT a good example of the breed and we are, after all, supposed to be showing the "BEST" examples of the breed. I would also like to point out that whilst the Toys had approximately a 50% absentee rate, the working dogs had approximately 80% of those entered show their dogs.
  16. Let me point out some facts to you. When an All Breeds Club applies to become an affiliate of Dogs NSW, they agree to abide by the rules & regulations as set out by Dogs NSW. Dogs NSW has an extreme heat policy which was created after the Spring Fair in 2009. This policy was discussed by the Show Committee of the Spring Fair, in consultation with the RSPCA. It was then made an extreme heat policy of Dogs NSW. Whilst the Committee of T & G (of which I am Secretary) appreciate the fact that it was very hot, we still had to abide by the extreme heat policy of Dogs NSW. Dogs NSW President, Mr Tom Couchman, was continually monitoring the readings for Badgery's Creek on the Bureau of Meteorology website and providing the President of T & G with these updates. As a Committee member of T & G I take offense at your insinuations that we are only concerned about losing money!!! All entries are paid for prior to the show and the Club does not lose any money if the show does not proceed. There are no refunds given in this case, so to accuse me and other members of the Committee of being irresponsible is downright rude. We can only follow the rules as set out by Dogs NSW, it is the responsibility of the owners of the dogs to decide whether to attend the show in these circumstances and to choose whether they will show their dogs.
  17. Yes I'll be there singing showdog, but only if I win of course, if I lose I'll storm out of the ring, rubbish the winning dogs, accuse the winning handler of sleeping with the judge and then slink off home to wash the dye out of my dogs We recently had an exhibitor who must have gone to the same school Miranda . After her dog got reserve challenge, she stormed out of the ring, pulled all her bitches out and loudly proclaimed that the winning exhibitor MUST be sleeping with the Judge. It was rather funny except for the fact that the winning exhibitor is an elderly lady in her 70's who has been married for over 50 years and the judge is also an elderly lady in her 70's that has been married for many many years. It does however highlight the fact that some exhibitors really do take winning just a bit too seriously.... You are telling tales on me Havasneeze Seriously though, was this in the NS or Toy ring?? That would be the Toy ring I don't really spend enough time round the Non-Sporting ring to see much happen (not much after S for Schipperke) though I have heard a few things through the grapevine... I'm up at the Toy ring until H for Havanese goes in then it's off to the Non-Sporting ring for the Schipps. I usually get there when the Poodles are going in. Also have trailer tampering in NSW
