Was on the way home last night when i heard that poor Salty the APBT was with his owner at the beach when he was thrown the ball to fetch from the water, on getting out he had tentacles from a stinger attached to his leg, was rushed to the vet, but died within 30 minutes. I think how lucky i am, as i used to take Scoobs to the beach all the time and it always worried me. The vet said that it is very rare as most dogs fur will stop the sting from getting in the blood stream, she said it was only the second time in 15 years she had seen it. but put out a warning to owners with dogs that might not have lots of fur overt here whole body.

I voted no, I was chatting to the president of our obedience club up here, when they had there pet expo about a month ago, he told me there were 6 owners with there APBT's taking part in the shows put on for the public. Was so good to hear that many people went away with a different view to what they arrived with, which was the crap that the media spouts.

In the NT we dont have any BSL.

My 87 year old aunty was out on one of her walks with her companion, when 2 off leash dogs attacked and killed her JRT who was on leash, Owner was around the corner and didnt evan see it, just called his dogs back and went on his merry way. Rocky was by her side 24 hours a day. Council is looking into it, but i dont have any hope of the offender getting his dues!!!! RIP little man

I dont think we have hijacked the thread, and no one is condoning what happened. if it did happen, then the full force of the law should be applied, and agreed, the owner should be coughing up for vet bills etc etc. Half the time, PPS is looking for debate on the subject, with its continuous negativity and pigeon holing of APBT owners.

Roobedoo, DCC hasnt banned them. The whole argument PPS makes is about people complying with the laws, evan if they have super safe guarded there houses so there dogs cant get out. Here we have luvabull, who is a great ambassador for the breed, a responsible owners, and yet she doesnt comply with the laws, is it the people like luvabull that are doing great harm to the breed.

Just because some owners dont comply with the draconian laws that are in place, doesnt make APBT owners iresponsible.

From what i have read of her posts, it is all doom and gloom for the ABPT and there owners, sure, there are some bad apples who own the breed, but what about all the responsible ones who are doing the right thing, promoting the breed for what it is and abiding by the law. It's hard enough without her negative spin on the whole thing.

Nope Im not joking Ive been on here for a while and Ive never read anything that makes me think PPS tells lies she comes across as a decent sort of person to me.I dunno why it is if anyone posts anything negative about a pitbull there nearly always called names and insulted.
