  1. Ditto the above. I have a question on this subject also. I take my Aussie pup home on a Saturday which is the same day it turns 8 weeks old. Puppy classes are held on the Sunday mornings. Should I take the puppy to class on the morning after it comes home or give it the weekend to settle into the home first and take it to school the following Sunday?
  2. Thanks for the input. I feel much better now. We stayed about an hour yesterday but if felt like half an hour. Time goes so quick with the puppies. They were all tired and falling asleep by the time we left. One little blue merle fell asleep on my lap. Awww.
  3. SG, Ren is such a cutie! Looks like he is fitting in really well. A question for those who visit their puppies in person, how long do you stay while you are visiting? Do you ever feel like you overstay your welcome? When I visit I'm not sure how long I should or shouldn't be there for. I don't want to seem rude.
  4. Welcome again! I also love Aussies, and labs are great dogs. My brother owns a yellow lab and I'll be owning an Aussie soon enough. Hope you find the forums really helpful.
  5. Saw the puppies again. I think we might have overstayed our visit but they were just SO cute. I couldn't believe how much they'd grown and they were so fun to play with. We really like the black tri boy at the moment. But we also like one of the black tri girls. Here is the boy..
  6. I finally had a shot at using my 50mm on an animal subject. My parents cat. I grew up with Dusty. I'm new to the 50mm so any critiques are welcome.
  7. Halo has grown up SO much already. Look at those perky ears. Welcome to the thread Nadine. Waiting is torture isn't it? Stonecutter, I did the same thing and it worked out so much cheaper to buy dog toys elsewhere. I got mine from here. I will probably get to see my pup again tomorrow! It's been three weeks since I first saw them. They were only 1 week old at the time. They are 4 weeks tomorrow!! Wooooooot!
  8. Wooow! Billy is a handsome cat. Look at his green eyes. You captured him well. I really need to have a good practice with my 1.4 this weekend.
  9. Atua she is beautiful! I love the look of Gordon Setters.
  10. That's awesome! We need more people like your sister when it comes to adding a dog as a family member. Sounds like she has done her research.
  11. Don't worry DL, I've already bought a lot of things too. Just can't help it. Cute pictures of the litter!! German Shepherds are quite dark as pups, aren't they?
  12. Yep! Same here. It's my favourite colour. Can't wait to see the bag.
  13. That's what I was leaning towards. Thanks!
  14. Hmmm those seem a bit extreme and the effect is lost.
  15. I definitely want to have a go at it soon! The results are amazing.
  16. Hmmm I'm still struggling to decide what to order! What do you guys think? Should I go with the tealswirls fabric with a teal interior OR the purpletapestry with a wineberry interior? They are both very me, but it is hard to picture the final product in my head.
  17. Welcome to the thread Huga! Your pup is adorable and Sid really suits him. The picks you have taken are gorgeous. I hope I get some nice pics of my pup this weekend.
  18. I'm giving in and ordering a pretty bag.
  19. DL, that is great! I'm in the same situation. I can get either a boy or girl. We are leaning more towards the boy but it really does depend on their personalities. :D SG, woohoo! I still have a whole month. You are so lucky to have your pup coming home THIS weekend. Can't wait to see pictures of her.
  20. :D I wouldn't mind seeing this in my kitchen more often. Haha. Lovely photos once again LL. I got my camera today so I'll be adding my contribution soon. Yay! It's exciting to have new stuff. ;)
  21. Once again, great photos! Tess is such a good looking pup.
  22. SmoothieGirl - You must be getting so excited! Only one week. I'm not sure what I will be doing yet. Probably not herding though. It's my first ever dog so I'll be going to the obedience club near here and see where I end up from there. I know that there are all sorts of activities but I'm not sure which ones I would enjoy and which are suited to my dog. That probably sounds very naive.
  23. Sounds like she is a real delight to have around. I don't think I would ever rule out adopting an adult dog if I chose to get another one in the future. But not owning any dog before, I wanted to experience the puppy stage. I realise it's not for everyone though. Do you find that Shae is bonding with you the same way a puppy would? And a big thumbs up to the chook herding skills! That would come in really handy around here too.
  24. Great photo! Looks like such a happy girl.
  25. Yep what Wuffles said. Some of the Aussies are born with natural bob tails and others aren't. I'm not fussed if I get one with or without. I love the girl with the dot on her head but she was on hold from day one. Hehe.
