Which Is The Most "dog Friendly" State.
Naomi replied to Keira&Phoenix's topic in General Dog Discussion
I've been keeping an eye on this thread to say what the Tasmanians would say. I can't give an opinion because I haven't owned a dog here yet. I do know that there is a beach 5 minutes away that has a huge section which is dog friendly all year around. I think there is also an off leash area in the main town about 10 mins from where I live. But as far as taking dogs out and about here, I'm not sure how accepted they are. There are a lot of bushwalks in Tassie but I've never heard of any dog friendly ones. -
Yep, but why can't the pup run around your yard? I like these pens better. http://thetempfenceshop-px.rtrk.com.au/con...og-Fencing.html It's a huge property and only fenced with farm style wire fencing. Easily escapable. Those pens are great! I asked for a quote and they work out about the same price as the ebay ones, but they look like much better quality. Thanks!

That must be a relief. Each day goes so slowly while waiting for the pup to come home. I would die if I had to wait that long. Thankfully my pup comes home at 8 weeks. Congrats!! I know how you feel. I've been waiting to own a dog my whole life! Mum always said no. It feels great when it finally happens doesn't it? Hope the wait for your new girl goes quickly. And great photos Whiskedaway and Toolz! Your pups are adorable! Can't wait to post pics of mine. ;)

Speaking of dog pens, I have my Aussie pup arriving in 7 weeks. Would you guys say this is a big enough pen to leave it in while we are at work? link Assuming it gets exercised before hand.

Lovely photo. I love the almost sepia feel to it. Is that done in photoshop?

I saw the litter today. There were soo many Aussie's and it was so much fun! The pups are only 1 week old at the moment. We will be heading back to see them again when the pups are about 5 weeks old. We were so excited when we got back from the visit. We have puppies on the brain!!!

Toolz, your pup is adorable! So cute. Bjelkier, that is extremely unlucky. Almost unbelievable. Jakemon, Tess is such a cutie! And that is a great name too. I get to meet the breeder and the litter tomorrow. Still not sure which is mine at this stage. SO EXCITED.

Anyone Else Get Emotional As Your Dog Gets Older?
Naomi replied to Muttaburra's topic in General Dog Discussion
It can be sad. My boyfriend's dog is almost 15 and it shows. He is so eager for walks but we realised the other day that they can't be as long as he wants them to be. He gets so puffed out by the time we are home. He is very grey in the face and very slow moving, one eye is clouded over. But he is still such a huge puppy on the inside. It's just his old body that holds him back. It makes you appreciate every moment with them so much more. Happy birthday to Maxi! And sorry to hear about Kassy, Gayle. -
That is disgusting! I can't understand why anyone would do something like that..

Great blog! I love the theme you have chosen. I find it torture to try and customise wordpress themes.

I might be jumping in too early but I think I might be getting an Australian Shepherd pup soon! The breeder contacted me on the weekend to see if I was still interested and I was. But no final decisions are made about the litter until they are 8 weeks old. So it's early days yet, but fingers crossed!

Thanks Pandii. Wanted a dog since I was a little girl. It's pretty exciting. Your pup is very cute! My friend has a Koolie and it is a great dog. Thanks. It's pretty wise to wait until the kids are old enough. Can't wait to see pics of the pup!

So jealous of everyone who already know which pups they are getting. I'm still waiting on moving out before getting the puppy. It was meant to be happening in December, but looks like it might be later now. I hate that I cant commit to getting a puppy right now! I'll probably miss out on all the November/December Australian Shepherd litters that are around. They are soooo cute too. I'm so puppy clucky right now. I guess after waiting over 10 years to own a dog, I'm getting slightly impatient. ;)

I use to use this on my cat who was sometimes aggressive. Seemed to calm him down. I'm not sure how much you would give a dog, but I would rub a few drops onto the back of my cats ears.

I'm also considering getting a 550d soon. I had a go with my brother's 550d earlier in the year and it was so much better than my old 20d. I'lll be keeping an eye on this thread..

Which one are you looking at getting from ebay? I have my eye on this one. It's the cheapest I've found so far that can include a divider and bedding. [link]

Awww that sounds like a great moment. Haha how cute. I'm sure these moments make all the accidents worth the trouble.

Hurray! Yeah buying doggy stuff is lots of fun. Ziggy is an awesome name too! When will you know which girl is yours? Awesome! Can't wait to see these pics. How many dogs will you have total?

I'll have to keep toilet rolls in mind for my future pup. Love the new photos! Nice to see him awake. I've never heard of the breed before now. If I was going to ever get a smaller dog, I'd definitely consider a Hugo. Haha.
-
I like her a lot too! I hope she finds a good home soon. Her racoon tail is pretty cool.

Woohoo! Great story. I loved reading it because I'm totally gonna be the same when I get my first puppy. Hugo is adorable. How was the first night together? I'm guessing you didn't get to sleep in. :D

Oh wow he is very cute. Exciting!! Gosh I hope it is my turn sooooon. So puppy clucky...

Dju!! Hugo comes home toddaaaaay! Hope it all goes well. I want to see pics.

I was wondering the same thing!

Haha. That's funny because as soon as you mentioned the name Hugo, it reminded me of my brother's dog who is named Bruno. ;)
