Damn that im gonna start making the BARF now!!! Anyone got a really good link of what to include?

Wow Drey thats cheap!! If only i knew how to not miss out on all the supplements and what to do i would make the patties myself I dont buy dog food every week i baulk buy it except the bones. I get 4 rolls of the BARF delivered whenever i run out which is about roughly every 7 weeks, costs me $56 every delivery plus the dry food which at the moment is Science Diet for both but different types one is puppy the other adult so i had to buy 2 bags around $60 each that will last me for quite awhile, its nearly half gone and its been there for about 3-4 weeks now. In the mornings they get bones and stuff and thats about $4.00 for every 4 days a dollar a day. Soo altogether it costs about $20- $25 a week but it will drop down quite a bit when Darcy is older and they are eating the same food. Wow it actually costs more then i thought it did better hope my dad doesnt see this he thinks it costs me bugger all to feed them Ohh they are both Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retrievers Nova is a 3 year old entire boy and Darcy is a 8 month old entire boy as well both very active and in excellent health and fitness as Nova does agility and needs to be kept lean and muscled haha

ETA: I quite possibly will be as Nova is booked in for Monday now

Ahh this is a good idea, i will try this techinique on Nova to see if i can finally get his attention when heeling. Would try it on Darcy but he is a bit unco and im trying to teach him to catch yeah i know not the best combination

True it could be a reason, but if it mostly happens in Retrievers and i cant think of any Retrievers that were docked in the first place then dont know

Hi Thanks for that Lablover, he went to the vets last night for the checkup and she said its not his back (thank god) just his tail, i mentioned the swimmers tail thingy and she said its possible as his tail about the length of a closed fist outwards from the base is very very sore and he doesnt like anyone touching it. Its not broken or anything but if anything like this happens again where the back end cant work properly he is going to get xrays to find out what damage he really did to his back awhile ago. Im just hoping its not serious and really is swimmers tail, he is not on any drugs as the vet said as she isnt 100% sure whats up with it best to leave it for a few days and see what happens. Thanks Lablover i was hoping you would reply No i didnt end up taking him to the vets, he was booked in for the afternoon but was fine this morning wagging it like normal and in its usual cocky position. I played with it just carefully lifting it up and down and he had no problem couldnt have cared less unlike before where he turned around and tried to get out of my grasp. I will just have to remember to take a towel next time when they go for a swim, which wont be for awhile actually damn weather LOL. Funny thing is Darcy hasnt had a problem yet he is the one in the water the most? Can you tell me anything more about it please? Thanks Natasha

Hi All, My dogs must be accident prone lately as i woke this morning to find Novas tail limp, like he can wag it but it isnt held in its usual cocky self always up!! It isnt broken and it doesnt appear to hurt him, so i was wondering if anyone can hazard a guess as what is up with it?? I remember a topic about retrievers getting like a dead tail after swimming and stuff and i was wondering if that could be it as yesterday they went for a swim?? Should add he hasnt been to a vet yet as my parents said to give it a couple of days to see what happens so i thought i would come on here and see if anyone knew anything? Thanks Natasha

Thanks TD, Coolies both dogs are going then, hope they pick it up quickly enough although Nova may decide he doenst want to chase a bag and go piss on everything

I get the patties and i got a little booklet that has all the ingredients in there and i personally couldnt make it up myself so i buy these. Both dogs get half a pattie each but i mix it in with dry food so they get everything they need that way and they get either frames or bones in the morning. Ever since being on patties Novas coat is alot healthier and looks gorgeous. Darcy is being raised on this and he is turning out very well, he isnt fat nor thin and his coat is gorgeous as with his pearly whites.

Do you mean your dog would never ever chase you? Never look for you? If you got in the car and drove off he wouldnt care? If thats the case I would look at the relationship you have with your dog. Maybe some NIFIL would help. Yeah he would but AFTER he has finished sniffing, i have tried running the other way but he just kept sniffing and wandered the other way, then comes after me like 30 minutes later Bit hard to drive off without a car ;) Whats NIFIL? ETA: I do not do this in an unsecure area, it is all fenced in. On walks now he is on a very long lead

I never really got that, what happens when you have a dog that doesnt care you run the other way? I would rather go get him then wait for hours for my dog to finally come back after sniffing everything which is a reward to him

It might be, will continue to try it but it may be his shape as he is longer and stockier in body than Moses
