Does anyone know if the Melbourne seminar is booked out?
-
I train for several of the options, but at the moment am focusing on training for flyball. I try and train a few times a day, sometimes i cant but i will do it everyday. Currently working on box work and training in drive with the full runs.

Maybe so but every dog is different, just because previous dogs were like that doesnt mean your future (and present pup) will be. The majority of replies have been that you are expecting too much, and are pressuring the puppy to learn to much too soon perhaps take that into account as some posters do have the experience to back what they are saying Personally i wouldnt try what you are doing with the food, making her eat it quickly before the other dog gets too it as it can develop into food guarding. Maybe the food you are trying to tempt her with she doesnt like? Try all sorts and see what gets the best results, i know with Darcy i tried everything and what he like the best was Good Os which i only bought because i forgot to get my usual treats. Though have to agree with everyone else, and allow her too settle in a bit first, give her like 2 weeks to adapt to the new situation before training her intensly.

Definately, its much easier to convince people they need another dog when they see them lol -

Annual Heartworm Injections Adverse Reactions
Sayreovi replied to evelin's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
I had my dogs done several months ago and there has been no ill side affects at all. Never heard of not deworming them at all, kinda weird considering every single dog person i know does it. -
Might see you all there. CTD I saw Josh and i was wondering where you were! Are you going to Ballarat or have you finished for the year?

Im coming from the south east, and will be travelling free way all the way. I wouldnt follow me because i have a tendancy of getting lost very easily

Teaching The Drop Command On The Run
Sayreovi replied to KismetKat's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
If you havent started already i would recommend training with a clicker for this exercise, it is much easier then saying yes and the dog knows exactly what it did when the click sounded so they know the reward is for the behaviour they gave. -
Teaching The Drop Command On The Run
Sayreovi replied to KismetKat's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
Have to agree with CTD, you wouldnt reward a stay by calling the dog then rewarding it. You will be rewarding breaking the stay rather then the stay itself. I havent taught the drop when they are running free but have with the recall and drop, and i trained them so their drop was fast and consistent and then moved to calling them and making them drop, once they had i would go too them and reward for the drop. This would be the same way i would teach the drop when they are running around well until i get a firm grasp on how to train in drive better lol -
No worries, ahh we wont be at Rosebud, we are going to Best Friends Retreat for the Doler holiday lol which is going too be excellent!!! *grumbles* still cant believe i have to be at the Dandy comp at 6 in the morning and its the closest comp lol

Desexing Early Leads To Taller And Hairier Dogs?
Sayreovi replied to whatevah's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
I desexed Nova a few months ago and while he hasnt grown his coat has changed and it is much thicker as well as growing longer and woolier, if thats the word, in places it hadnt before like around his elbows and on his thighs. Nova was desexed when he was 3 years old and his coat definitely changed. I however dont think its a blanket rule with younger dogs, how will you know if they would have turned out that way if you had or hadnt desexed them. If they are tall and hairy how would you know they wouldnt have done that if they hadnt been desexed. -
Sharon you could stay the Saturday night and go lure coursing the next day lol I might go to this one, i have a Sunday free finally!! LOL
-
Thanks!
-
OK umm so where is the dog club? LOL im hopeless, would it be easier to go straight to Imashepheads place or stop at the dog club and follow?
-
Actually i dont mind that idea either, if you are willing to do it Sharon that is.

Planning On Starting Training This Sunday
Sayreovi replied to wombatoutofhell's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
Thank God they changed their ways. I went there a few years ago to have a look, i didnt want to use a check chain and they pretty much said if Nova didnt wear one there is no point in training him there (the training was very check chain intensive and he was only a puppy!).......so i left and went to Frankston LOL
