I believe it still is. I think they only cancel if its forecasted about 32 degrees, and looking outside here it would be barely 20!! I am coming with Darcy and the two pups, mainly to give the pups a social outing but Darcy will be running. -
wow those are great Vicki and FHR. How happy was Flynn at the end of that run lol

How do i get onto Ozherders? They came from Albury, so they may have been the "leftovers" from a working litter that they couldnt sell. -

Some more Dont mind Darcy lol, he wasnt too impressed with the fact that she came over and layed down like that. Photo was taken just before she snatched the toy and run lol Little Belle (black tan girl) has excellent dog manners, the other girl needs a bit of working as she considers everything she touches hers and defends it much to the amusement of my two who are 3 times her size. -

Finally some photos. I still cant think of a name for the brown tan girl, she is reserved and shy but is able to stand up for herself quite well. Any suggestions? -

Just waiting for pictures too load then i will post some. Nova and Belle have been playing together a bit, Nova will lay on his back and she will leap at him it is very funny too watch considering the size difference. She has begun to follow him around to his dismay, seeing as she keeps licking his mouth and rolling over in front of him haha. Little brown girl is coming around, more open to both us and the dogs. Has certainly found her voice lol This girl is gorgeous, with her big bat ears lol. She is going to be one of those dogs that are going to snob off everyone but her family. -
This thread is just putting out feelers at the moment. Have picked up my latest fosters a few hours ago, and they are stunning. Both have really nice temps, very sound, my little sister dropped a wire door that went crashing....my dogs scattered, these two just stood there with cocked heads LOL Poor little Darcy, he is at the bottom of an even bigger group of dogs, the little brown tan girl who is literally 1/3 of his size, has told him off for being annoying and he immediately threw himself to the ground tail tucked between his legs Still cant believe he got told off by a puppy :D I will have more temp info when they are here longer but here is a basic description. Alexis/Lexi, she is divine, very calm and sweet.....was a bit standoffish at first but they have just been taken from one side of the state to another. Was a little possessive if she was sitting near me, with my dogs at first, but is calming a bit now. She really is gorgeous. Bella/Belle - Black Tan girl, very very friendly and happy puppy. Was desperately trying to get her sister to play but stuck with chewing on Novas ear LOL. Pretty much sums her up, she is just very friendly and happy. They would be great agility/flyball dogs and being Kelpies would need plenty of mental and physical exercise. Will post pictures when my camera charges lol. ETA: Ive been told they are approximately 15 weeks.....i honestly have no idea they are soo small i am not used to puppies so not sure what size they should be at any age.

Ive currently got my extremely fussy and hard to keep weight on dog, on it at the moment. He hasnt been on it for long to see any difference in coat or weight yet, but his poo has stayed small and hard. Plus he has energy to burn now.

Anyone Here Feed There Dog Rabbit?
Sayreovi replied to koolietas's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
My two would hunt for them with my uncles dogs, out in the country when we go there. Thats pretty much the cheapest way you can get it lol -
I wasnt directed the last paragraph at you, it was just me thinking out loud.

Training Contacts Vs. Slowing Dog
Sayreovi replied to t(AD)pole's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
I train them to stop. Prevents them jumping off and missing the contact completely that way. -
Well, my dogs are outside dogs. They sleep outside and are allowed inside only on certain occasions. Nova was inside when we first got him for about 2 weeks, then was kicked outside, Darcy has slept outside since Day 1. Certainly didnt ruin him. Also have two foster puppies coming, they will also be outside. I am sure they wont mind as their other alternative was sleeping forever.
-
Well you wont find many people who will make a puppy run for long distances and pull a person at the same time. So effectively yes I always wonder why people try and rush these things, do it wrong or too early and you ruin your dog for life. Dont understand why people just dont wait another few months or a year until the dog is physically sound and stopped growing.

Hardest Area/field To Train Your Dog In.
Sayreovi replied to country joe's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
I know that, but its going to be easier to train a dog for trails of whatever when it is that way inclined naturally. ie. trying to train a reluctant retriever with bad water ethics then one that loves water and retrieving, or training a hound to do high level obedience, certainly not impossibly but definately harder to train then your usual mix of Goldens and BCs. -
They have to be over 2 years old i think to compete, and under 8 years. Personally i would wait till they are at least 18months old before training them for it intensly. Up till then you just keep them fit with regular swimming and daily walks.
-
For the testing it is split up, you run 8kms then have a break, do another 6km then another break and finally the last 6kms. You also do some obedience at the start and end of it, just basic stuff. They arent run exclusively on concrete, its a mixture of surfaces, if the dog is running beside you i ride in a spot on the footpath/road where the dog has to run on grass. Swimming is good, i am currently getting my two fit enough to to ET and i started with swimming just to get their fitness up to a level where they can pace for a about 2-3 kms without getting overwhelmed. I will eventually increase the distance until they can run the 20km (and i can bike it LOL) with breaks. Should say when i mention run, it is actually a slow pace, the dogs are only just gaiting at this stage.

Hardest Area/field To Train Your Dog In.
Sayreovi replied to country joe's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
With Nova, probably flyball, he was such a pain in the arse, he would run off half way through to go mark, forget the ball or drop it....but thats about it, ive found he is easy to train in agility, everything he does wrong though is always my fault i have to keep my attention on him 110% when doing agility as he will nick off to go pee on something Darcy has been easy to train in everything, he does everything i tell him and pays attention all the time. I am going to eventually train him in retrieving and/or field trials. It really depends on the dog, some would be natural agility dogs others would be natural retrievers so wouldnt be as hard to train. -
Ohh i love that one!! Love how the first tug didnt open the fridge had too try again, that time he flung it open lol
