I think that is George you are talking about. We are actually taking the dogs out to see him tomorrow morning. He only charges $10 and is brilliant. Ive heard alot of good things about him, but cant find a number any where can someone post it here or pm me please My dogs tend to only get checked out if they have an injury but would love to find a long term chiro due to the sport we do can be hard on the dogs.

Flyball Training Breakthough
Sayreovi replied to LilBailey's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
Oops sorry forgot about this section! Gave it a go once and he ran down the outside Decided to not continue then because of the comp on the weekend, didnt want to give him any ideas, but i will try it this weekend :D. Not sure if you guys saw the way he ran in, ran straight saw another dog and thought oh crap a dog coming at me, swerved out and then back in so loses alot of speed doing this. -
Nope i wont trial in the rain so why bother training in the rain? If its light showers and i am already out there i will continue for awhile but other then that no way One dog hates rain, and looks miserable if he has to be out in it, the other not really sure he would be alot better though in the rain.

Personally i would break my stay if another dog was harrassing my dogs. If it happened to one of my dogs we wouldnt be trialling again for some time due to him being nervous in stays. After all there is always another trial Thats one of the reasons i am going straight to Novice rather then CCD, dogs will hopefully have more solid stays. Will also be doing what Poodlefan does, act the same way in the trial as i do in training, if dog misbehaves i will correct as i dont want a dog to become ring savvy.

Any updates? Anyone heard anything? Natalie, I have PMed you twice. Nah havent heard anything either. Cant get any for awhile now, freezer is full of frames and other bones, as i ran out, so no room here.

How To Treat Canine Pack Members?
Sayreovi replied to KitKat's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
Treated all the same. Fed at the same time, like Clover whoever looks keener is trained first, first in gets pats. -
I dont think they knew what i was on about either, but she apparantly was on the phone to the lab where they send bloodwork and thats what they said Who knows but one thing is for sure i aint going there for that!!

Entering An Agility Trial Without Height Card
Sayreovi replied to t(AD)pole's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
Well i have been to 3 trials so far with both dogs and wasnt asked for a height card (and didnt have one either ) Is your dog right in the middle of her class in regards to height or is borderline? If borderline i would try and get a height card before hand so if someone questions it there is no question what height she should be at -
It shouldn't be! It's just a blood sample that is sent to the same Laboratory that Vet Clinics send all their other samples to. It actually is! First have to find someone who knows what titre testing is, and for them to do it. I rang one of the local vets and got quoted $400 PER dog for the test. I did say it was only drawing blood and sending it away, that the test wasnt that much so how do they justify that price tag and they pretty much tried to hang up on me

Unless your dog wont touch it whole i would try giving it too them whole (or halved depending on dog size) The only cutting i do is down to the correct portion size. Up to you whether to feed it everyday or not, i only feed it when i feed mince and i only feed that every second-third day.

Ahh Best i go tell all the flyball and agility people that use a tug toy (about 90%) to stop as it is not the right thing to do!! I assure you that it is certainly not making the dog not work with the owner, more the opposite in fact. I am actually encouraging one of my dogs to tug, and tug hard......want him to kill for that tug. Tugging can be and is a good game to play, though i wouldnt play it with an already dominant aggressive dog.

The one next to Coles? I went in there awhile a go asking and they said they dont have any and cant order them in.....is it a recent occurance?
-
Offal is organ meat. So dont think Ox cheek is offal (correct me if i am wrong) I use the same as Espinay2, i freeze up several weeks worth of meat so they get a variety over the days they are fed mince. Have liver, heart and kidney mixes in there at the moment (all beef).
-
Wow thats an awesome piece of machinery!! Will be interesting to see what its like, though i wont be buying one of those until i get a few more dogs
-
Why not just buy a chicken frame and give it too him? Majority of dogs know exactly what to do with them. If you go with a frame you could replace a meal with it, or give it too him in the morning and halve what he gets at night.

There isnt really anyone on here who can give you a diagnoses over the internet without seeing it. Best person too tell you what is wrong is your vet.
-
I also feed beef with no ill effects. Pretty much as 60%-70% of their diet is already chicken, feeding beef and on occasion lamb and pork is a good variety and each has things that the other doesnt!

Flyball Training Breakthough
Sayreovi replied to LilBailey's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
Will give it a go, he does already angle himself a bit already, he will sort of veer out of the way so loses the speed he has going in when he corrects himself, so i want to give him confidence running in. Doesnt miss the jumps going in unless if ive totally stuffed the cross and sent him way too early but never tried it from the side. Ahh yes the human races, it was just as scary being the box loader!!! -
OK So where is the research and proof that dogs MUST be vaccinated annually? How many times have you heard of a dog getting Parvo or KC but they are vaccinated yearly? Wouldnt that mean that it isnt working? If you have a look at overseas information, there is alot more vets recommending to not vaccinate yearly (or after the first booster) unfortunately our vets are still far behind with what is best for our dogs. Yes your dogs may live long lives and be healthy but what about the ones that dont? Why must we vaccinate dogs we know are going to have side effects because everyone else thinks its alright? If your dog does well being vaccinated and fed canned food so be it, and no one should say anything rude about that but if some decide not to vaccinate and raw feed then they also shouldnt be seen as uncaring.

Flyball Training Breakthough

Interesting, will have to watch your crosses at Geelong! Our crosses tend to be straight at the other dog bar i think only one comes in from the side, though i might try this weekend with Darcy going in at an angle, he isnt as confident as Nova running at another dog! -

WOW!!!! I am very impressed! He is going to become an excellent (fast) flyball dog if he can continue to ran at the other dog not waiting will its passed. Do you mind sharing how you guys managed that? -
Big marrow bones are good for keeping a dog occupied, but they arent of much nutrional value. They are very fatty and have little to no meat on them, plus dogs cant eat the bone bit which is a great food for them I personally would be feeding chicken wings and necks. As already said watch them eat in case they are just swallowing them whole. If they are, i would just upgrade to a chicken frame and let him munch on that! Pups can be fed bones as soon as they start eating :p

He is turning 5 this year. The sunscreen i use is called SunStop, or sometimes i use zinc. He is in perfect health, and the skin isnt red and inflamed, its just normal. When i asked the vet about it he said nothing, but to watch the skin in case it doesnt get burnt, which really is the main reason i was asking about it, hoping someone would know how to make the fur grow back.
